Right, dragging on from a previous dscussion I started, I've had a bit of a brainwave.

We all previously agreed that Credit Cards sucked. That they were pretty much useless unless you were hoarding cash in your AT on Manhattan. Well, what if, we started an currency exchange type run.

Eg:

Based on the current exchange rates
Bretonia\Liberty ?1.99649 : $1.00000 Great British pound
Kusari\Liberty 118.47 Yen : $1.00 Japanese Yen
Rhienland\Liberty ?.736377 : $1.000000 Euro
Hispania\Liberty 2.0231 Real : $1.0000 Brazilian Real

Liberty, USD

Would it be possible to start an exchange? For example, you have card type for each house, and you buy a Bretonian Credit Card and take it to Liberty and sell it for a profit, and so on and so forth.

I know, as I'm typing this I can see hundreds of problems all creeping up that will be pointed out but I wanted to get this written down.

Just as an Idea, what does everyone think. Obviously, the potential profits for this operation should be huge as the potential for being pirated is almost unprecedented.

[Sorry, my mind's fragmented at the minute, literally, I'm having difficulty putting to coherent sentence together. Oh and before anyone gets funny ideas why, I'm male]
Hey, that's a good idea. We'd still have to keep the Sirius Credit Cards for money-hoarding, but I think that could work, especially if one starts a convoy.
Well I don't really understand what you did whith those prices... pounds yen euros and real ?

Little confusing to me but well...

It is a nice idea to make the credit cards trade items I agree... but won't traders become a bit too rich buddy ?

Everyone will become a biljardair or however ya write that...

Then all these peeps are going to buy the biggest battleships there are...

you are already saying the profits will be huge so it will be a real interuption in the Role Play, I think the Role of the credit cards are perfect at the moment:)Credit Cards are specially made to store more credit on your character you can buy and sell them on every base and that makes them usefull for very rich players...

Another example... since I don't understand what ya actually meant by that table I make up an example... lets say 1 kusari credit is 1.2 liberty credits...

Then you can fill up ya train with a couple of credit cards (probably all your money) at the Deshima station in Shikoku and unload at Battleship Rio Grande in Colorado (5 minutes flying max.)

Now lets say you brough 50 mill in credit cards, you will sell them then for 60 mill (10 mill profit in 5 minutes)

Now that is just a normal example...

Let I take myself for example... I have 400 mill on a character and I load it into my liberty dread... who the hell is going to stop me from making 80 million profit in 5 minutes ? :|

I should say keep the cred cards for what they are:)

Jack
Its a good idea.
The rich cloud only get richer...Lets say you have 10mils in the bank,it wloud generate 20.000 a week.
Hah, finally, Been wondering how to push this thru ever since CCU started operating. 1 more way to get rich. Market speculation
Good idea, but I agree with Maranzo. Battleships are supposed to the result of a players dedication, not something that can be purchased in a day. I have been here maybe month or two and I finally scraped together enough for a frigate.

(I know with 14-17 hours trading that you can get one in a day, but that is a day where roleplay is largely ignored...not the point at all)
No i like the idea of currency exchange but maybe to a maximum of 1 mill cred cards to stop too much easy money (ive always felt that capships should be admin approved or at least faction approved, so if such a scheme was implemented then who cares about the limit)

also only allow the cred cards to be sold on main bases, Malta Crete Manhattan New Berlin New London New Tokyo

just my thought.

Yep, most of the kinks I thought about have been brought up.

Easy to make lots of money, yes. Counter, if you're blown out of the sky while carrying all these credit cards, suddenly your bank balance has dropped dramatically, and of course, someone else's is supplemented greatly. Or they should be capped in some way, max profit about 5% of the total haul.

The transfers should only be available at main bases like Olsav said, Manhattan, New Tokyo, New Berlin, New London, Crete and Malta.

Just add special rules to Credit Cards to stop excessive profiteering. EG: Transport craft only. That means that only Traders can make huge profit, but they run the risk of severely taxed by pirates. And Battleships cannot be used to transport them.
I see how this could work, making an extreme profit would require using say, a 100mil credit or a full hold of em. But if you die you're out BILLIONS and someone just made more money than God...however this will be abused without doubt and we will see more battleships and frigates and caps than should be legal
If this is ever implemented, profit should be capped so it makes about 2 mil more profit than a single round trip on the most popular/best current route. This means, that it could shorten your time making money, but not very much. Also, yes the risk must be around 50 mil if you lose the cargo. So it is only for those who are eaither very daring or those who travel with an escort. That way, it wont be a way to get battleships quickly, but it may encourage traders to hire escorts if there are any around, as they really dont want to lose 50 mil in credit cards.

50 mil of these "special" cards should be a full hold. Niormal credit cards should still exist though. They are a godsend for those with bank balances higher than that of the Liberty governament,

It can be done if implemented as a high risk trading option, which provides a small but noticable boost in efficiency in gaining money.

But this can be tested in the next betas if it is possible, and it doesn't ruin what discovery is meant to be...not in my opinion at least. We should be abkle to take advantage of the Sirius market and exchange rates....though the "credit" is still the main kind of money which represents the neutral number '1' in the sirius exchange market. So all the rates are based off the value of the credit, which stays at 1.
