It looks as if Windows 7 did an automatic update last night while I was asleep.

Now when I put my computer to sleep, it doesn't really sleep. It's screen goes blank but the lights stay on... then I can't wake it up no matter what I do. Same for hibernating. I have to restart the computer to fix it. Then half the time my system tray icons won't show up, and explorer.exe will be open like, twice, and my docs and stuff won't open.

Windows update won't open to show me what it's done.

System restore will come up, then say "Prepare to restore your system" or something to that effect, but it'll stay that way for 15 mins, then give an error ox81000101 saying it can't fix it.

It's acting really weird, and it's really annoying.

Any suggestions other than reformat?
If you start up your computer, is anything messed up other then System Restore?

Don't put your computer in hibernation mode is my suggestion. :P
I had similar issues, but mine stacked up the failure to recognise the network too...

Only problem is, mine allowed a system restore... so I can't really help.
I somehow managed to fix this in a weird freakish safe mode recovery dealio... I'm good to go now.:)
Hell, now I'm not sure if I should bother with getting windows 7...
I think it's worth it, but that's just me.
