For a while now I've been thinking about making a RM cruiser or *puts on flamesuit* batlleship.

I've been looking around and it seems there are quite some RM cruisers around, but no BS. is there a reason for this? Is the RM bs useless in rp at this point in the game? How often can it be used? or will it be doomed to gather dust, since I'n no fan of lolraids...

I'd like some overall input of what the RM would like to see flying around more: a cruiser or a BS. same applies to the LN, since LN players will be on the other side of the fence.
The BS is beeing used in two different ways.

1. Roleplay:
It can be used quite often to provide a stable and authentic roleplay platform for commanders.
Leading battles, roleplaying the things going on on the bridge and such things are only a few examples.
Here arises the first problem.
I can roleplay the RM BS on every single occassion I log on it.
As an Admiral or the Fleet Admiral, I have the ability to really make it a command post. Organize the patrols, send out the ships and do the apropriate roleplay and the bridge stuff as mentioned above.

As an independent you only have the normal RP, since you can not be sure that you can take the role of command every time.
It depends on how the other present players include you in the environment. Are you beeing asked for scanner data? Beeing treated as the command post? If yes, you can do all the roleplay coming along with it.
When not, well then not.
If you think its ignorance or just the typical "they hate indie BS", then you are definately wrong.
The players roleplay what they have and with whom they want to.
Official players or independent ones as well. Their decision what they do and if you are part of the RP as a command post or just a large vessel sitting nearby.

2. The PvP.
If you are in Rheinland, know that you will face unlawfull bombers and fighters all the time.
On rare occasion you might find a cruiser here and then, but still with bombers as escorts.
Maybe you will face Liberty cruisers, carriers or battleships too.

In 80% of all the battles you will have to sit outside to watch the fighters having the fun.
That does not exclude you from having fun.
Roleplaying the stuff happening around you still give you a lot to do.

The conclusion:

It is a roleplay platform as it should be.
Some manage to have fun in it.
Some manage to have fun in it and roleplay it properly.
And then there are the ones who roleplay it properly but get tired of it verry soon.

My personal impression:
Battleships are great.
But if I would not be an Admiral or a high ranking officer, I would not have one.
But again, thats just me.

Malexa
cheers for the feedback Malexa.
The Rheinland Battleships that make their presence known spend most of their time in Liberty, as there is a high chance of getting a matchup with another battleship in Liberty compared to in Rheinland. However, the tresspassing battleships are always the same few people, with the exception of V_Tirpitz_V which is fairly new on the scene.

Cruisers in this respect are far more common, but considering the existence of the [RF], who in my experience are made completely out of Vidars, you are pretty screwed if they catch you on your own in terms of PvP whichever ship you choose to buy.

As to the roleplay, I think you'll probably be the most capable roleplayer in the RM's indie BS roster.

I really don't mind what you choose to buy, whether it be a wraith or one of the Kreigsmarine's finest machines of war. But battleships cost a lot of credits....
