I have a reasonable laptop that is currently running with a VGA TFT monitor in a dual configuration, a couple of satellite speakers running from the headphone jack and a HDMI port that I want to take advantage of,
I'm currently set to buy a monitor that in the next couple of weeks (Iiyama's E2210-HDS-1 to replace my current E1900WS, in case you're wondering).
My laptop uses NVIDIA's HD audio driver through the HDMI port, and a Realtek driver for the Headphone socket and the integrated speakers. I don't have any HDMI capable panels to try it out on, so I would like to work out if the headphone socketoverrides the HDMI port.
Thanks in advance
Tathrim
EDIT: Answer is no, purchasing a monitor with a headphone socket and making do (the E2209HDS-1 instead).
