Yeah. I never did this either.
In fact, a while back, some well-established member of the community (I wanna say it was Tenacity, not sure) came to the same realization, and made a Welcome thread, after having been here for a fair amount of time and racking up a large number of posts.
It was intended as a joke, and was taken as a joke. But shortly thereafter, mods or admins or whoever's in charge of this stuff said that welcome threads are for new people only, and that welcome threads made by older members would be locked immediately.
Anyways, "welcome".
