My name is Kraizer. I have tried out "Disco" for a while on and off. I have tried Junker, tried a lawful liberty, and also tried Outcast, and I can't really decide which way I should go...
I am getting back into Discovery here recently just as a hiatus from my other FL mod playing. I run a clan on another mod and need a break from all the us-vs-them. So I play disco to "relax".
I have a fw questions though...
When getting a Gunboat, it isn't necessary to "register" my capital ship on the forum, is it? I don't have one nor have the credits for one, but was considering getting one to make mission grinding effortless.
In RP, If I am neutral / friendly to a particular faction member, and they state a demand, such as a rogue telling a junker that he can't use X scrap field for proffit, If I deny and end up using scrap field X for profit, does that fall within RP lines? Or do I have to respect it and respect the neutrality?
Are the forums RP-Enforced as well?
Like I said, just some basic questions. I'd be interested in joining a player faction, but I don't know which path to take, lawful, unlawful, which house, outcasts, corsair, etc. Some guidance would be nice.
Greetings and welcome back. Just so you know, there is us vs them stuff here as well, but we keepn it in check much better, and it is usually only between individuals or occasionally small groups. To answer your questions:

No.

You, as a player and a character can do as you like in this situation. Just be aware there may be in RP consequences depending on the specifics of the situation.

Pretty much only the communications forum and bounties. Bounties have to be posted for an RP reason and in RP and communications can only be accessed by those they are addressed to (in RP at least). If you think there is a reason for an exception to this, such as you being a lane hacker, you can ask the original poster.
Finally, as for the path you want to take, personally I like finding an RP and a style of play I like and going for it, those are the characters of mine that really last.
Hmm, I do like outcasts a lot. I really like their "Background". I have an outcast character on the server but I am horrible with fighters. Is there a middle-ground between a fighter-priced / fighter-class vessel that handles like a gunboat / Capital? (I am a Liberty Dread pilot on the mod I play and am used to gunning in turret instead of dog-fighting, this is why I ask)
So which of the 3 Outcast Factions would best suit a new player? I considered the guard which is a lot like the clan I run in the other mod. However I also kinda' liked the Drug-Smuggling of the Cartel-ish one...
As for the middle ground.. I am not sure exactly what you are wanting.... There are
super heavy fighters.... Other than that it's bombers, which are more like fighter combat and freighters, which i dont have a lot of experience with really. Then it is up to
gunboats or perhaps transports. Both the
Ptrans and the
behemoth make pretty good combat vessels, especially when escorted, which all caps should be really.
As for which outcast faction.... I have no idea, pirate factions are pretty foreign to me for the most part.
Also you might consider getting a loan or joining a trading faction so you can get a big trade ship quick and make lots'o'money (relatively).
Yeah, Here's where I'm torn in two...
101's Outcast Guard = "The Navy" of the Outcast Commonwealth from what I gather. I like the idea of going out, getting in big fights, and having fun...
Venezi Cartel = The way to make cash. I strongly considered these guys actually since I can trade as well as escort fellow syndicate players. Yet doesn't seem to have as much combat-action as the 101's
The national guard of the outcasts, I can't remember their names but I see it all over in signatures, looks decent. Chill out in friendly space and stomp about on those that violate our rules / laws.
I'll just sleep on it. May have some sudden revelation in the wee hours of the night:D
Hello and welcome. If you need any help just PM me and I'll be able to sort out what problems you have and may have in the future.
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind, I don't have any immediate gameplay questions, I'm mainly just trying to figure out what I'm going to end up doing in Discovery.
The Cartel has a lot of combat against the LN I'm thinking
Yeah, I think I may go for the Cartel. Combining the best of trade and combat.
What's the character limit on the server? the 24/7 one?
