Greetings!

I want to ask what is needed when i want to buy a capital ship in general? Is there a faction registration required,or some kind of approval?Or i can buy a battleship without it,when i am not a member of any player faction and dont want to be?Thanks for your answers.

(i tried to search the forum for similar topics but i havent found anything usefull, but if this was already discussed somewhere feel free to delete this topic)
Please read this first.
You need to get an ID which states

Quote:Allowed ships: [...] Cruisers, Battleships

Right now such an ID comes with the Term "Guard" at the end of the commodity name. (Or "Core" in case of the Bounty Hunters Guild ID)

No, you don't need to be part of a faction. And since 1.5 years you don't need to get the permission from the faction anymore either.

However, you should be aware of the rules concerning capital ship (Can't engage transport class vessel) and be able to roleplay it properly before buying it.
Depending on the house you are getting the cap in, there is a requirement to register it.

also you should read this guide for new battleship captains.

may I ask what kind of battleship you want to get?
Technically speaking you still don't need to register your cap to the houses. It's just that they'll more than likely leave you to die in the event you get into a fight you can't handle. And trust me, there will be plenty of fights you can't handle. Also, keep in mind that you do still need to work with the player factions even if you don't join them- if the fleet admiral gives you a direct order, you follow it. Doing stuff they tell you not to do is an express ticket to an application of Faction Right 5.

While playing a capship can be fantastically fun, and indeed a few of the finest experiences I've had on the server have had me in one, they are not unstoppable. Cruisers and battleships are not blunt instruments of war, contrary to what some people seem to think. There is an art to using them properly, a way to move so as to maximize what you can do to your foes and minimize what your opponent can do to you- just like there is in fighter combat. Some people want to buy capital ships because they think such vessels are far superior to smaller ships- they would be wrong. They have their place in combat, and it's true that the addition of a capital ship changes combat more than the addition of any other single ship- but 4 bombers are still going to eat you for breakfast unless you have substantial escort.

Keep all this in mind and enjoy your shiny new capship.

Thanks for all your answers.

(To your question - I havent decided which capship is the best suitable for me yet. And i am still saving credits)
Doesn't hurt to have a Faction's approval. If you plan to do any kinda crazy RP, asking them first is best. They might even have suggestions to make it better:)
Please Dont buy the Battleship for Pew Pew and to annoy others because people mostly like Only those BS players who RP well.
what is needed?

common sense would be good; for a start.
1) You must have Faction's Guard ID BEFORE you get any capital vessel.

2) You should have Faction's Guard IFF.

3) You should have a story how you built this capital vessel.
