I just tried to get on, and I was kicked. I exited Freelancer, and went back to connect to the server, and it said in big bold red letters: You were kicked, Reason: Bad installation
What does that mean?

That does mean: Your installation of Freelancer and/or Discovery mod has failed.

Your mod files are inconsistant with the server's mod files. This can be due to a bad installation, but is more commonly caused by people tampering with the game files. It's an anti-cheat mechanism to stop people playing with illegal modifications.
I see, well thats weird because I don't touch the files because I know I will screw it up. It started working again just after I posted this, but it just happened just now
got the same problem it worked 2 hours ago o.O i dont understand that...
Then someone must've changed something. Reinstall FL and re-download the mod.
nobody changed anything... i have a clear install and the mod is installed clear also so i dont get the point....
i dod exactly that i reinstalled and it works now good god i still have the cd ...
Restart your computer.
Also, if you use IONCROSS, uninstall it.
