The rule:
Quote:2.1 Following actions are considered cheating on server:

- Using non-Discovery mods, speed-related and loot-related mods especially, as well as using modifications that improve stats of items and ships;
- Changing account information and using any kinds of software that changes normal gameplay;
- Using any equipment not included for sale/looting in Discovery mod, cloaks for example;
- Using equipment that exceeds ship specs;
- Cloning, e.g. creating new characters to collect starting money;
- Single player using two or more computers to fly their own characters.
And Agmen's explanation for the highlighted line:
Quote:Technically, this rule should also have added to it at the end: 'at the same time'.

This one causes the most grief and/or questions. Yes, it is perfectly acceptable to have two (or more) people in the same house or on the same IP flying ships. Yes, it is perfectly acceptable if you have two computers and multiple accounts for you to briefly (and by that we're talking about 2-3 minutes) log on so that you can do equipment transfers - just don't do that when the server is more than 3/4 full. (We know dead drops in space can sometimes just disappear.)

What is not acceptable is to have two traders chugging down the lanes where we can obviously tell that one person is controlling both ships. Or someone pulling another ship across a sector, when (again) it's obvious no one is in the second ship. Or for that matter, having a trader being 'escorted' by another ship - again, where it's obvious that there's only one pilot for both ships. Any and all of these are multi-boxing, which is not allowed on our server. Other servers may (and do) have different rules on this rule.

What my question is: Can two players control two different ships at the same time, from the same house & IP address. When I say control I mean that both ships are not in formation; that they are chatting (with others and themselves); and they are continously flying around{excluding brief stops to RP[which means they are still chatting or waiting for a reply], trade, pirate, etc.} Agmen does not fully elaborate on this point

I am asking because I have a cousin of mine coming over, and he has showed some interest in Discovery and I would love to show him around.

Forgive me if this is question is already answered some where else; I asked because I did not find something giving a clear cut answer

Yes, this is acceptable and within the rules. They can even be in formation.
One person per character slot. That's all they try to enforce.
All the rule means is that one person should not be using two PCs to trade and get double money - called multiboxing.

As the above posts say; if there are two people then it's perfectly acceptable.
You are good, show you cousin disco and hopefully he will join the party:P
hmm never had problems with that... my girlfirend is playin disco on her laptop too... with me sometimes and sometimes with my charas... but never trading together... cause a admin can think i am multiboxing... until now i never had any problems with that...
Excellent. I should hook my laptop up and create another account for the next time I need to do an equipment transfer.

Save myself the hassle of finding someone I can trust to hold gear for me and a few credits besides.

*Waves to LNS-Idaho, who scored 1 mill credits for helping me with that little job.
