How about some heavy gunboat?
Kusari Explorer GB

Only choice for untagged vessel. I think its quite wiser to pick the gb, You can defend, more agile then transports or freighters. Up to You if you want to travel.

Perfect choice would be Raba but then You need permission.
Armored Democritus FTW
Thanks for the feedback guys;)
- A Democritus with normal AU8 would have enough hull to survive a Triple Snac! So use it to store your Codes in, But don't go too far away from the Base you dock your store ship on. Put an Adv. Transport Shield on it as well so it'll buy you enough time to position your ship press F3 if you don't already have your nose at the Speed dock point.
- But for moving codes, Your Best Friend would be This little long forgotten Ship, that not many use! Even without Armor, if you put a Civilian Transport Shield on it and bash the Shield Regen key while flying to the closest base, you can save your precious Cargo even in some of the worst situations.

Or, to be on the safe side, you can move your Codes in packs of Four, Mounted on an Armorless Fighter...!;)

Err, are you sure? The Yacht has 170,000 hull, while a SN dies 132,000 damage a shot. a SNAC will definitely not kill any Yacht, and most definitely not an AU VIII one.

The thing about Codename ships is that it's not so much which one you have, but how you fly it. The Democratus will survive the average pirate attack with almost 100% certainty, but, like Stoat said, you can't fly it in a straight line shooting backwards and expect to come out alive. It's only got 4 guns, really, and those won't do too hot against, well, anything. The real strength of the Democratus is that it's fairly maneuverable and very small.

The best hope, though, is if you find a pair of guards who will go with you when you do deals in places where you're far from safety. Cliche, I know, but, honestly, it helps to have escorts. Lawfuls will do well if you are planning on meeting a lawful contact, Freelancers or Mercenaries otherwise. Really, that's your best bet. Have someone go scope out the area for you before you go into a potential dangerous situation.
Hmmm.. What about the Zoner Conference Gunboat? But i don't really plan on travelling in it..

As you don't really plan on travelling in it, I suggest looking at the ship list in the Wiki. Find the ship with the heaviest armor that is open to everyone and then put your AU8 on it.

Keep it close to a station like Detroit Ammo or that base near planet Manhatten and you should be ok.
Plenty of help within shouting distance too if it looks like you are in too much trouble to be able to get to a dock.

Problem is, I don't know what I want -_- A Gunboat would be great, but so would a Luxury Yacht... The Gunboat seems like a much cheaper alternative...
Gunboat is better than the Yacht... usually, one gunboat can deal with one bomber. One Yacht can't. And, I think, but am not sure, that gunboats are much smaller targets than a Yacht, or most of the transports. With more firepower. With same speed. Similar manouverability. Only less cargo hold.

Go for a gunboat. You can always make a Zoner, and get a ZGB on Ames in Kepler, and just float there.. and with Zoner ID and not Zoner guard, you CAN dock with everything;)
