Hello,

Played Freelancer consistantly since the demo came out in PC Gamer all those years ago - Finally got myself around to playing Discovery online after playing 4.84 in SP.

I play mainly FPS games, however have found them lacking since CoD4 so fired up the old Freelancer again.

My connections pretty dodgy since I live in the far north of Scotland so am mainly on in the morning/early evening.

Hopefully I won't get blown to bits too much.

Welcome! My suggestions to you starting out

Read the rules carefully and ask questions if you are unsure. People are generally willing to help you.

Don't even think about buying a Capital ship for at least 3 weeks as you get used to Disco and how things play out in game.

You will get blown up a good deal. Happens to most people. Don't get angry and say something you'll regret (if you read the rules you understand why).

Read the rules again because sometimes you miss something and it'll come back and bite you.

Join a faction that you like and that is willing to help out a new guy.
