Greetings, I have played Discovery Freelancer for a few days and it is awesome!

I love the RP that is involved in-game and I don't think I'll find a mod similar to this.

I have started an account and hopefully I will be able travel through Sirius!

Hopefully, I will meet some of you in space..
Welcome to discovery bro! I'm sure the angels will be here soon to give their introduction post.
Welcome!
Enjoy game, read the rules, don't get too addiced to it and

in before Aerelm's wall of text

Oh yea and if you need something ask players tagged [The_Angels] in-game or send me PM on forums.

PS: Read that rules :P

Pilgrim
:)Thanks for the advice! :)
Welcome.

Never publicly own a Zoner character.

Do not buy a capital ship.

Join an official faction.

Always post in agreement.

This will ensure your acceptance.

Unless you like being hated and shot at, and hated, and being discriminated about, and hated.

Reason for this: To many caps hanging around, we call it capspam, and the pilots are capwhores. It's a pain seeing more caps than snubcraft (Fighters etc) and it's unrealistic.

Not always a good idea, I've been here 2 years, and only joined my first official faction a couple of weeks ago. I assure you, they're over-rated. Yeah, they're fun, and they have their own communities, and the Skype chats are normally funny, but they can limit alot of what you wanna do, so dont go jumping at an official faction 'till you're sure it's what you wanna do.

NO U!!
In all seriousness though, going with the crowd's all well and good if you wanna get accepted, but you just blend in as 'another player' most of the time. Constructive, and well-written posts about your views (Agreeing or disagreeing) on the thread's topic are more likely to get you accepted than just going 'Yeah, nice'

Anyways, welcome, as everyone says, read the rules, (Including 0.0 "Be excellent to each other" or summin like that), have fun while you're here, and most importantly, just remember it's only a game. A few people take things a bit to seriously.

(Oh, and get Skype if you haven't already got it, most players spend more time on there than in game...)
Welcome to the server Keizmos!

Make sure that you read the rules because they are here very important.

You can find much friendly persons here and official factions which are searching new peoples too.

I wish you much fun here.

Happy RP'ing.
Welcome to Discovery!

As a new member you will from time to time find yourself needing help, if this is the case look out for any [The_Angels] tagged ships, they will be very gracious to help you out!

The Angels are, as quoted from the Wiki:

"We are a group of players united under a common desire to provide information, guidance and advice to our fellow community members regardless of experience level with aims towards contributing to an equally educated and aware playerbase.
After all, it is troublesome to have fun when are low on credits, confused, and swimming in a sea of unhelpful, out of role-play chatter.
Our members may be contacted for assistance on the forums or within the game environment at any time. We assist in new player's first steps and basic combat training, to providing information on the background history and player presence of the differing factions of Sirius. While our philosophy is one of teaching to fish as opposed to simply providing a leg up, we will go the extra mile to provide direct assistance when the situation dictates we must."

Weekly Goals
  • Assist five new players.
  • Help one player join a faction.
  • Describe or accompany one player on a trade run.
If you would like anymore information on the Angels, please visit our Wiki page, here.

Please remember that at certain times that we are flooded with PMs asking us questions, if you do not get a reply straight away, we will get back to you!

Another thing to remember is to READ the rules, it may be boring to do so but it is important to keep server gameplay as good as it is. Plus if you read them you hopefully won't break them, saving our glorious Admins time and effort!

Rules can be found here.

Good luck and remember HAVE FUN! (Fun on this server is compulsory, anyone found not having fun will be tickled with a single feather till death)
What they said.

Welcome to Discovery, read and follow the rules, and mind the cat. Very glad to have another new RPer; that's always a big plus.

For the record, Liberty and the Omicrons are very crowded. Means lots of opportunities to RP with folks, but also lots of lolwuts (the local term for a certain breed of out-of-RP people who don't seem to be capable of following the server rules, being decent, or RPing at all). Less crowded areas, such as Rheinland, need more population, but that also means you'll be more alone.

All a matter of preference, really.
