Please confirm if I am wrong...
I was protecting a Miner who was being attacked by a Pirate in a transport vessel.
I asked the Miner if he wanted assistance and he said yes.
My ID IMG Guard states the following:

Can hunt pirates and terrorists within Bretonia, the Tau and Omega systems, or within systems where IMG has a base, or in self defence or to protect another trader.
Allowed ships: Fighters, Freighters, Transports, Gunboats, Cruisers, Zephyr Class Carrier.

I believe I was following the RP rules and ID guidelines
Please let me know what I did wrong and was subsequently sanctioned.

You can do all the listed above, except when your enemy target is in a transport.
Rule 6.7 prohibits doing so.



The pirate you were shooting at was in a transport. And since nothing of these kicks in:

you haven't been allowed to do so by the rules.

Even if the pirate was shooting at traders, pirating them, eating cookies in bed, or call your mother an ogre.
Launch with a smaller ship to prevent sore traders or annoying crumbs - or missing guns.

Released you by the way since you've posted and I am sure you understand rule 6.7 now.
