Independent Miners Guild Recruiting Service

Are you a hard and devoted worker, struggling to survive in the midst of unreliable political and economic situations, or even under corrupt corporations? Are you an adventurer, seeking to search out the unknown? Or are you a stalwart protector of the innocent, a defender of the common man or woman just trying to make ends meet and perhaps support their family?

If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, then the Independent Miners Guild needs you.

As a guild, IMG is an association of professionals from various areas of expertise. These individuals have come together in order to build a livelihood for themselves and their families. In the process, Guild has become in many ways Community. We work together and we refine each other's skills. If you are interested in such an organization, then we invite you to apply.

Also contact IMG| ships and participate in the convoys and we will guide you from there.

Greetings,

My name it Ituska Ken, 24, born New Tokyo. With the war escalating, I managed to find myself under the barricade in Bretonnia, and my old school friend, Harold Soule managed to put me to work on his miner for the BMM, trying to hide from the Bretonians I'm a Kusarian. Recently, with the battles going ahead, the hyperproduction of gold ore in Dublin has infused a collapse in the overall industry, and the two of us were on the brink of losing our jobs, not to mention chased by all sorts of Dublin Freedom Fighters.

We fled to Rheinland, in bound to Kusari, jobless, with barely enough stock of food and water to survive to Freeport 6. As the current mining foremant of 'Tamakin' mining vessel, I humbly apply for my vessel to become a part of your great mining fleet, which would give all of us aboard a new home, and jobs. A new life. Closer to my homeland.

I think the Independent Miners Guild is an organisation that helps mankind - balancing the needs of its employees, and the market demand. Many of the resources IMG mines and hauls around Sirius is very much needed in almost every industrial sector. Those items, in turn, provide the people their utmost everyday needs. IMG operates in a rather dangerous space, but it is for the better future. That's why me and my crew would want to become a part of your Guild.

We're looking forward to the favourable reply
Kind regards,

K. Otsuka

"Greetings, IMG Guildmasters, or whoever is getting this message. I heard that recruitment into the main branch of the Guild was re-opened recently, and I thought now would be the best time to try and 'take it to the next level,' as it were. I'll try and answer the questions you've submitted as well as I can.

[color=#99FF99]>
[color=#66FF99]>
>
What position would you like to join the IMG as?
I feel that I would be best suited to the IMG's renowned Defense Wing. I'm perhaps not that great of a fighter pilot, but I'm definitely an even worse miner, and I've never felt quite comfortable controlling larger ships. I'm always looking to improve my skills, and as I've taken it upon myself to protect miners in the Taus and elsewhere, I feel this will help me to easily accomplish that goal.

>>>Professional Background, including work I've done in the past and why I wish to join the Guild.
To be perfectly honest, I don't have a professional background. When I was young, I made my way to the Hood after I lost my family, and I've identified myself with the IMG as a group since then. I admire the Guild's strong independence from the restrictive laws of the Houses and the oppressive corporations that control them. I've made it my goal to protect the miners of the Taus and Guild-affiliated miners in general, and I think that the main branch of the Guild would help me better myself, and others, the most.

>>>What do I understand the Guild's purposes as being?
The main purpose of the Guild is that it's an organization in which miners can mine relatively independently - free of the oppression of House corporations, and the IMG is always on the forefront of finding new mineral resources. These two aspects give the Guild a great advantage over other, similar groups. Overall, the Guild attempts to keep everyone under her banner safe and employed, while maintaining a high degree of autonomy and freedom at the same time.

>>>How can I help accomplish these purposes?
I feel that I can help the Guild and its members, and myself, along that path by making sure that everyone under the Guild's banner is safe. Again, complete independence never got anyone anywhere - I need to work with other people to be effective. I think that I'm a good strategic thinker, I can make quick split-second decisions, and I've learned from two and a half years of living onboard Java how things work here, so that's nothing new to me. And I don't know how big coffee is in the Guild proper, but I happen to have a... very good source of excellent coffee, if many of your pilots are big on that. I know I am.

>>>Outline my reasons for joining the Guild.
As I've said before, I want to protect miners. I didn't have anywhere else to turn when I first flew to the Hood in that little CSV, and the IMG's always been good to me - it's time to give something back. Besides, nobody really likes the Outcasts anyways, yeah? So I think that I can make Sirius a better place by doing what I've been doing all along, but it's best if I do it with other people. The Guild is the group that has the right ideas, and the right ideas lead to the right actions, and gets the job done.

Greetings IMG!

My name is Jason Conner, 30 years old, born at Planet Cambridge. I grew up at Cambridge and never left the planet until I was 18. My father worked for the BMM and when I was 18 and had finished school, he took me with him to his work. He wanted me to start working for the BMM too, with him on the same ship called ProsperX. After his retirement when I was 24, I became captain from the ProsperX. I continued to work, but I realized that I didn't like it. The BMM was not very well organized and Dublin, where I worked, was a mess. I had learned to mine well, and I wanted to continue doing it, but I gave up the BMM. I looked for other factions and found the IMG. In many ways I liked it. I heard there were many people, and it was well organized. And because it wasn't a corporation, but rather a community, it sounded better too. So I decided to send in an application.

As far as I understand, the IMG is a community of people all working together and each other to create a profitable mining community. The purpose is to help each other and work together to make mining safer and more enjoyable.

I believe that I can help by both mining and moving ores and escorting movers. I have many years of experience in mining and I believe I'm not so bad at fighting either, at least according to the simulator. Furthermore, I will be good company too.

My reasons are to make a profit for myself and for the guild, and to help and protect when needed. I also like the company the IMG can offer, and I happen to love the shipline too.

I hope you will accept my application, so that I can be part of the community and help everyone.

Regards, Jason.

Current Ship: Combat Service Vehicle
Qualifications:
  • Level 6 Mechanical & Optronics Engineering
  • Class L (light) & Class CS (cargo small) space license
  • Level 5 Vehicular Mechanical Engineering
  • Class 2 Small Arms training
I would like to apply to be an escort pilot for the IMG, this I hope will lead me to defending workers lives rather than hauling cargo that costs lives for many a reason.

Back home I used to work in a transport manufacturing factory that built B-27-E "Clydesdale" Bretonia Freighter, those things may be a bit large at the loins, but they got the job done. This means I can take care of some ship repairs on my own, given the materials.

It is my understanding that the IMG are a group of people looking to survive, by the materials they acquire and the people in their guild. Without comraderie the IMG would fall, companies here while due to the war we have banded together quite well its nothing strong. I'm hoping that in the wilds of the Tau's and Bretonian frontier, the IMG are more like brothers in arms and tools than salary datapad pushers.

If you require more information let me know, I've got to touch up the sensors on my ship.

Gentlemen,

Let me welcome you all to the Independant Miners Guild. I see no reason to reject any of your applications, so you are all accepted. To signify your vessels as Guild ships, please apply the IMG| transponder to your vessel's name. The division suffix ([M] for mining, [E] for exploration, [D] for defense and [T] for trade) is optional - keep in mind that the [M] and [T] tags tend to attract unwanted attention if you intend to operate alone.

Mr. Jones and Mr. Zenon. I see you are taking an interest in the defense and escort wing, but do not yet have a vessel? I can recommend the Nyx space superiority fighter, produced by our Colonial allies at Sarawak station. The Colonials allow the Guild free access to their space and the shipyard at Sarawak. The remainder of the research station is offlimits though.
We have facilities to fully outfit a fightercraft at Jakarta station in Tau 39. And through a deal with the STAR weapons dealer, we have access to a good number of specialised guns for a reduced price. These are all just options, you are welcome to choose your craft and layout as you see fit, up to the Hydra class gunboat.
Our Colonial allies are also able to assist in training sessions for these craft in case you feel you should need them - their fighterwings are among the best in Sirius, and have saved our miner hides numerous times when the Outcasts showed up.

Mr. Connor, the same largely applies to yourself. We also have a number of veteran miners in our fleet who can help you with ship layout if you so require. Some miners prefer the bulky Hegemon - others prefer a lighter mining craft that can double as an escort, typically the light Dacite craft we produce on Freistadt.

Mr. Itsuka, your tale is similar to many who have come to work for us. You speak true, the fields we mine are often distant, or in contested areas of space. The Guild's mining is rarely safe mining, but we've learned to work around these problems. Sometimes by striking a few deals, sometimes by simple sheer force. Of late we have resumed a large Dublin operation, so far with approval from the Mollies, but we keep a strong escort on hand regardless, to drive off any Corsair and other unaffiliated pirate forces. Convoys, if we run them, are also heavily escorted. This mitigates to some extent the dangers involved - we care for our people, something that cannot be often said of the larger house corporations.

I recommend you read our latest operational report to familiarise yourself with our current politics, and the state of our operations Sirius-wide.
Good luck in your ventures in the Guild, gentlemen.

Signed,
- Johnathan Sanders, on behalf of the Independant Miners Guild.

Bio:
I was born on planet Pittsburgh. I had a really good time when I was a child. Both of my parents were caring and so kind. I loved them. When I grew up, I went to the University of Economics on Planet Manhatten. I took flight lessons on a Starflier before graduating. My instructor told me that I flew pretty good, but I handled the lil' ship like a huge transport so he convinced me to change the class of my flight license. I managed to pass the exam of Transport Flight. While studying I was working as an archive manager in the Pittsburgh Industrial Library. I earned a few credits over there so I moved the credits to my account on Manhatten and bought a Train. The Train has been delivered on the day of my graduation. My classmates were like "The hell is that!?" and I've said "My future mates.Nothing else." My degree just helps me to understand what do I sell and why is that costs that much. Nothing special.

I was about to haul 3 cargos of gold ore to Detroit with my mateys when I met the IMG guys in Dublin. 2 gunboats instantly came to escort us through the dangerous systems which were standing in our way. I think IMG is one of the most kind and organized factions in Sirius. They're aiding Liberty, protecting their mates at all cost. Thanks to IMG, all of my cargo has been delivered to Detroit. This way, IMG will be one of the most wealthy and stabile organizations in Liberty.

I'm really looking forward to your reply

Derrion Moore

My comm system is down so consider this an old fashioned paper written letter. My name is..... many names. Right now, my name is Dennis Sisco. I am a good honest businessman who just happens to be out there for someone to recruit. I'd prefer that someone to be you. I've previously worked for USI and DSE, both bad decisions. I fly a Train but that can be changed. I wish to join this guild because i started out mining, and now the itch the blow rocks up for profit is back. IN my opinion the purpose of IMG is a very good purpose, to unite the professionals into a proud and profitable party. (Feel free to use that as a slogan of some sort). To this guild I bring a friendly and humourous manner and 2997 units of experience, I also bring determination to see this guild through to the end. With whatever it takes. I think this outlines my reasons to join, I hope to hear from you at the IMG, from <strike>Char</strike> Dennis Sisco, and my droid F.E.O.

Gentlemen,

Mr... Sisco? I must admit your application makes me cautious. A man unwilling to share his past and openly admitting to having gone by aliases... makes me suspect you are or at some point have been, a smuggler. Unlike the Bounty Hunters Guild, the Independant Miners Guild can not offer amnesty for folk - we're not a get out of jail free card. If you have outstanding warrents in any of the major houses, I would like to know about it, and the circumstances leading to it. We can work around such issues to a degree, depending on circumstance. But there are some things we will not overlook. Until we learn a little more of your past, I cannot yet permit you entrance into the Guild. You are however free to work with the guild on an individual basis - you'll find our operations are open to friendly workers joining in.
As for our slogan... I do not think we really have one. Each Guild member can define it for him or herself. To me, I'd say it's "To the laborer go the spoils".

Mr. Moore,
In your message you write something that might signify a misunderstanding of the Guild. You say that in our raw material deliveries to Liberty, we support the Liberty economy. Be that as it may, we do so only because Liberty offers the best economic prospect, most of the time. There have been times where the route to Detroit was cut, and we simply diverted to Rheinland, selling at Ingolstadt instead. The Independent Miners Guild is not biased towards any house in particular - we follow civilian regulations of the house that we are in. Short of that, we are out to provide the best circumstances of labor for our workers - and make a healthy profit while we're at it. I presume the SiriusTrans trains were your own? Were you remotely operating the other two? I heared about that little venture, 15000plus gold ore in a single haul - we don't often run that volume, but I reckon that'll have drawn some jealous eyes from passing BMM transports.
Regardless, if you can live with the fact that the Guild is not biased towards Liberty, then we'll welcome you into the Guild.

Mr Sanders,
as far as I am aware, I do not have any warrents on me. However, though I would not class myself as a smuggler, I have hauled a few... restricted things around, But I assure I have paid the small price for my small commitments. And they were pretty small. If you want more info I am sure we can discuss ingame sometime, or perhaps over skype if this guilds uses it? As for my past, my job in the DSE was short, not even official. However I filled all of the sheets and stuff in for USI and was accepted. However, after a few weeks I grew tired of abuse from other members and quit. I only participated in one convoy in the USI but I did participate in another convoy outside of the USI. However it ended in my most amazing story, one that can only be told ingame for true detail. I think this covers things, if not please contact me again, i'd love to join the IMG. As would my droid/computer F.E.O. That reminds me, good lad F.E.O, my name. I chose Dennis Sisco for my current name simply because I saw that other members of the IMG already had both parts of my previous name. On another note, I'd love to join any of the different groups of IMG and I hope that I am accepted and become a worthy and valued member.
Your man and mine, Dennis Sisco (Ingame I fly the S.S.Harrison)
