Me again with rule layering and Co.

Lately I see more and more AI ID'ed ships in Dublin...
Roleplaying = 0%
Triggerhappines = 100%

The problem is whether they can shoot anyone they see fit?
Since I see them working as mercenaries and getting AI Drones/Cruiser just for guns, ship ane zero restrictions on RP standarts.

Is this legit? Yes/no?
Artificial Intelligence ID

Vessels carrying this ID are controlled by an artificial intelligence, who :
Cannot fulfill bounty contracts,
Cannot demand cargo or credits,
Can trade and escort traders,
May not fly any ships with more than 3,600 cargo space.
Allowed ships: Fighters, Freighters, Gunboats, Transports, AI Drone and AI Cruiser.

Carrying unmounted IDs in your ship, trading IDs, as well as not equipping an ID, is a serious crime.

In other words, they cannot be hired via Bounty Boards or ingame. Also, they can be escorts, but a couple of ships that come from Essex once a miner is shot are not escorts, to be honest. But they got a sweet Core Vessel and nice fighters. Fighters. Dublin. You shot their miner yesterday (probably). Pew. Pew. In general, the same situation takes place every time a player picks up and ID and ship without basic understanding of respective roleplay.

Had I said that I considered making AI ID public as a bad idea from the very beginning?
I can only agree. AIs (most often Caps) are almost 100 % erratically behaving PvPers who most often join the unlawful part of a fight and shoot everything else.

I have never understood the ingame intentions of any of these monster drones. They make no sense, ingame. A drone should be small... that's okay.

Cap-drones are so ridiculous in Dublin that few people even care to assemble bombers to shoot them.
AI fighter isn't that good I believe. AI cruiser is nasty, however, it is also a cruiser which means it is heavily restricted in house space, or should be at least. Considering the amount of redtape IMG had to go through to station a single cruiser class vessel around Hood...

But meh. Cruiser. A pair of bombers makes short work of those. One Blarghest staying at range oughtta do it. And to my knowledge AI cruisers are not exempt from the capital-vs-transport rule, or the cruiser-may-not-pirate role. If they are in direct support of a pirating fleet (for instance, the cruiser engaging the transport escorts while a token bomber makes a demand), report it.
Depends if they're doing it by the rules.
The solution being all houses declare AI cruisers illegal in their space, and enforce this restriction.

Id like to advocate that official factions with the id can lead a better example but im going to have to place dublin in a jar marked "retarded".

on the other hand Makes me love groups like the VE or anyone else trying to enforce a good faction standard... so.. well.. there you got it its a diverse situation.

Rply.. An A.I. can have as many reasons to ..want to kill you as they damn well want to. There isnt an ID int he world that doesent cover the rp before shoot your face rule. hit screenshot key.. cull the profligates. Thier big earwigs.

Last I checked AI cruisers were forbidden, as a server rule, to enter house space.

*goes searching*

Edit: Nevermind. The restriction was removed a while back. Ah well, perhaps it would be a smart idea to bring that back in?
What are you talking about for gods sake?
I am asking about PvP fact, not if it is big ship, powerful or what the hell...

I am mad by getting shot by those AI Drones, that does minimal RP.
AI Cruisers... Different story.

I always found AI roleplay to be something as complex and time/imagination-consuming as Nomads roleplay. It really requires skill, it forces you to play according to unique guidelines. If player in question wants to try himself in roleplaying an Artifcial Intelligence vessel, he is welcome, but any non-human ID shouldn't be public, because people basically don't understand how to roleplay non-humans.

Also, the ID that state ability to shoot someone 'just because' usually have a certain line about 'engaging/hunting pirates, terrorists, lawfuls, someone else' - and since AI ID lacks it, I suppose that it's not allowed to attack except the cases when it defends itself, defends the trader it was escorting or is in roleplay situation that makes engagement pretty logical and it fits the other participants.
