Discovery Set to Launch Today on STS-133 Mission
[color=#EEEEEE]Discovery and crew are in final preparations for launch at 4:50 p.m. EST today. Commander Steve Lindsey and the STS-133 crew will deliver the Permanent Multipurpose Module and Robonaut 2 to the International Space Station.

[color=#99CCFF]Weather looks good. Unless technical issues crop up, Discovery should be on its way within 2 hours from now.

No rant about the end of Disco? I'm dissapoint.

I bet 7 nanobots that it gets canceled in last 10 minutes.
I accept.
I actually expected this to be:

A.a leaving thread
B.a closing down the shop thread.

I'm dissapoint.

But I really wouldn't fly aboard the Discovery. It's old, and that's the only reason.
Alternative Spaceflight Now has a better picture but also a discussion panel talking about CCDev etc.

Oh, right, forgot about that. Thanks Mjolnir, added to OP.

The chat is slightly retarded there:D

A bit more more entertaining, yeah.
Shuttle damaged by protective tape.... ohh well kinda shows why it cost so much to launch it.
Why don't they have a Uni8 mounted?

To save on cargo space, it's a delivery mission after all.

It's np, they fixed it with a Sharpie

To clarify:

Team Evaluating Small Piece of Tile
Thu, 24 Feb 2011 09:51:19 PM GMT+0100

Closeout Crew members are still in the White Room as they evaluate a small piece of tile that came loose near Discovery's crew hatch. They haven't yet decided whether any action is necessary, but there is plenty of time left to assess the situation. We're one hour away from launch at 4:50 p.m.

2052 GMT (3:52 p.m. EST)
The closeout crew has painted some black coating to color over the chipped tile.
