Hello, i just got discovery a couple days ago, and i had a couple questions:

1.) currently i am a trader using a train, but going to be a advance train soon. I was recently pirated by another player. I had to give up some credits in order to escape:(. I do not want to repeat that experience again, so i was wondering if someone could recommend any sort of turret or weapon that i could use to defend myself so i can at least go down fighting next time someone tries to take advantage of me, o yea i would also like to add that in order to defend myself, i will spare no expense, i really dont want to be pirated again

2.) i saw the extended trailer on Youtube recently and i was wondering if you could actually find atticus rockfield, or some sort of reference to him in the game.

any help would be appreciated, thanks for reading

1) Right, supertransports will get pirated...going down fighting will lose you more money.
No matter what weapons you have, a skilled bomber or a half decent gunboat pilot could rape you. Only two ways of avoiding piracy: one is to avoid pirates: Run. Some of us here are quite good at it. Piracy is a fact of life for any trader (except me, and I'm scary) The other way is to hire an Escort...get a good one, they can fight off the pirates.

2) Extended introduction is not considered cannon.

Just pay the thieves instead of dying. Your life is worth so much more than a few million credits.

After billions of hours trading, you will be happy, when a pirate is taxing you, breaking the boredom of routine.
You will spend him double the tax he has demanded, just for the fun to interact with another player.

Somewhen you will have achieved the limit of credits and then?
Purchase a Battleship, sitting around and nothing to do. The point many players leave.

Or you can ask police factions for an escort. Most are usually bored out of their minds or snorting vaporized donuts(see LPI msg dump).

They would be happy to escort you around.
