The poll is because most of you read the thread, or at least the first two lines and give in and leave. I've noticed it and quite frankly it is frustrating since those people are the ones likely to Q_Q if the faction got started. SO, to solve this I have made a basic poll to get the basics out of you lazybones.

Also a non Poll question, what do you like about the faction most? (If anything) & What do you hate most?

I'll just say what I said in the other thread: merging, or a close corporation with the current official faction would be far better in my opinion.

As for your question. I like the write-up. What I hate..well, hate is a strong word, thus inappropriate here. I simply dislike the idea of 2 BAF factions, where both might have sever activity problems. Just 1 bigger group would be better (I'm repeating myself..).

I hear you loud and clear. Just waiting for Dieter to get online.
VERY COMPLICATED. So... You just gotta ask one thing. Are you ready to take on such a project?
I dont see the point when there is already the BAF, also I dont like using guard rep.
Basically, I outlined my feelings on this matter in the main topic, but to sum up

Merge the idea into the BAF, bringing more military RP to the BAF and creating a sense of regimental identity while still maintaining the overarching command structure of the admirility. Also, have some people experienced with BAF RP write a few stories that focus on the ground combat based arm of the BAF, and write a description of ground based force's command structure that can be used as a reference for these RP stories.

I really do.

This is different, only same things are the ships we fly, <strike>the people we shoot</strike> Even this will be different, and our IDs. Guard rep is only allowed for Sandhurst graduates (Commissioned officers)

Still trying to get hold of Dieter. :/

We havent heard anything from Dieter for over a week. I heard he is very busy, so this may take some time for him to respond you.
I see you are trying to create something and you really want this so I have decided to share something with you, it may help you.
Before month we from BAF had a talk about the creation of a special wing of 4-5 men or less, that will be a part of BAF, but will work as elite wing. The name would be BAF|RG-(Codename), familiar to IAB|"Codename". If you want, you may come to talk with us in our channel, and we may work the things up. The Royal Guard (RG) squad will RP as space pilots and the personal guard's of the Queen Carina, which may fit in your kind of "land RP".
Second thing is that, so far we dont have IAB leader. The admiralty is working on that but well, you may put yourself if you really are gona be serious not just thought of something you wantto create for 1 week and leave it...
Third, I have checked the Kusari system and I found this:
KNF-official and primary navy
KNF-K-The Katana Wing squadron (bombers)
KNF-E-Kusari Naval Forces Exploration Wing (scouts)
KNF-IG- Imperial Guards, similar to our thoughts about Royal Guards.

From this you can see that, for example, KNF is not just 1 group. It's separated in 4 groups, but they are together and for that they are strong. One strong system with some different wings, everyone specialised in something. That is my oppinion about the puzzle I had mentioned to you. We must work together under the same flag, as we are, and then to create separate wings for different purposes.

I hope you will find something really good or take some of my advices here. We cant miss a good active player as you who wish to do something for his country.
I'd suggest joining the BAF and trying to implement your ideas there.

Currently, you have far, far farrrrr too many squads etc to be of any use.
Let's say you end up with around 5 or so active members, which would be a stretch. How many squads will they be representing?

I suggest:
Join the BAF, start the Army branch as a subfaction of the BAF and do it that way.
Don't take numbers away from the official faction which sorely needs the numbers.
I've been thinking about it all morning and I have a possible development that -more- of you will fancy. The basic details are:
  • With Dieter's permission, I could possibly start a sub-section of the BAF| known as "The Territorials" or, more formally "The Territorial Army". I think I could run this sub-section as a sort of 'low grade BAF' where it would bring in players who need training/help to get to a level of understanding and ability before joining the real faction. Some advantages to this for the BAF| would be they wouldn't have to decline those who normally would fail recruitment or bring on board straight away those who they are warey about, instead they could send them to the Territorial Army (BAF|Full.Name[TA]) and let them spend a couple of weeks or maybe even a few days just getting more knowledgeable about RP and the BAF| way of life. Then, if in the [TA] they screw up and get sanctioned the BAF| image won't be tarnished because they could just point out they are the the TA and not -really- members, just possible members in waiting therefore they shouldn't be judged for their actions.

With this, it could also possibly service as a HMS gathering, so independent HMS players could come under the TA banner, maybe get training and share ideas and experiences, this would overall increase Bretonian lawful independent quality. So that I would be happy with the possible change in direction, I would maybe have 1-2 of the already stated regiments in the TA and since there are more independents that officials, it should fill quiet nicely. Another advantage would be it would create a bridge going from Independents to Officials and allow quick and easy 'Orders' to be sent down the line. I'd also make the TA, like I said in the OP, strict military RP.

It may also serve as a part of the BAF were those who do not like the idea of message dumps and promotion but still want to fly under the quality of the BAF|, they could be in the TA as sort of 'less-serious-players'.
Thoughts?
