I have some ideas to boost missions a bit. I've been thinking about them for some time and i think they would be a nice addition to Discovery in general. Lemme know what you think about them and tell me if it's even doable in disco cuz i have no idea.
1; Trader missions. There are several big trading company's throughout Sirius. Even though they are big i bet they sometims need to transport commodities using freelance transports.
My idea is to get missions at the big company's bases. e.g Newark. Your cargo hold will be filled to max and you have a destination to deliver it to. Once the cargo has been delivered you will be payed a percentage of the commodities selling price at that station as a reward. If you get pirated along the way and the pirates steal some of your cargo that percentage should decrese. If the pirates have stolen more than 50% of the cargo the mission is a failure.
2: Mining Missions.
Get a mission to mine a certain ammount of ore and deliver it to a certain station. Once the ore has been delivered it is a sucess. If 50% or less is delivered the mission is a failure. beware of pirates and npc's
3:Escort missions. Escort a group of transports or liners or Military ships to a certain destination and beware of unlawfuls.
4: Recon/spy missions
Typically for the intelligence agencies of sirius.
Basically get in a hostile system. go to a specified waypoint and obtain a holodisc, Person or weapon.
Maybe Scan a ship for information then return to the mission base.
Maybe have players with the opposite faction ID/IFF warned of a possible intrusion of their system.
e.g LSF Mission to omicron system would trigger Nomads or Order to have a message pop up stating there is a possibility of an intruder in their system. (just to make the missions more difficult)
5: Military missions: for battleships and such. get in a hostile enviroment and come out alive;)

Go to a specified tradelane and pirate (kill) a certain cargo hauler. This should be done within a certain ammount of time or the mission is a failure since the transport would have gotten away.
