The waste amount of optical chips ejected into space by Kishiro ships to confuse Xeno scanners in the systems of Kepler and Galileo happened to have a far wider impact than assumed and hence all battleships scanners dropped drastically in their efficience. As a result all houses decided to spent less money into waste scanner arrays and instead utilized the mass-produced standard scanners on their battleships.
