I have an idea for all the sig makers here on this forum.
Lets have a sig of the week competition, where we use a
render i will supply and everyone uses this to make their
own variation of a sig using the render.

We can ask an admin to vote or do a poll etc and at
the end of the week a winner is chosen, and will recieve
a graphic trophy that i will supply and some credits
that i will offer as well.

All participants can post their sig, and there is no need for critique
or flaming as a poll or admin will decide the winner.

It can be fun and hopefully put an end to the angst in the media
section, which i for one are largely responsilbe for, i agree.

This is a great way to showcase your skills and learn from
other sig makers ideas , and techniques.

If anyone can add to the rules here or has some other input
to make it more fun please post below.

Anyway i propose a Miss Marvel Week.

This can be our starting Render

Hopefully this gets off the ground and ALL sig makers can help and learn from each
other, and also have fun.

Edit: SOTW Winners will have their sig pinned with a medal
and put into a SOTW thread ..like a trophy Cabnet

Updated.
Lovely idea, laudable intentions. :ylove:

I personally am lazy, and the only thing can get me to make graphics for free (read - for disco credits) is the possibility of seeing my work used by forum people. And of course inspiration.

That doesn't make the idea any less good. Also that Ketg one is impressive.
I will enter a competition or two to show how not to make sigs.
And I might get a little better while I am there.:yahoo:
i think is good idea not just for you guys (read sigmakers)
it s for us also to see and try to make something, because competition is good thing.
btw. good those two...
Gonna start checking out this section more often, sounds very interesting.
I'll wait until others have posted their sigs and then i'll post mine.
Good idea , looking forward to it:)
This is a good idea to improve the quality of signatures on these forums, also to shift the focus from practical to artistic - as they should be.

More competition ideas, don't just limit them to signatures.

- Small art of the week (1000px below)
- Large art of the week (1000px and above)

These should provide a challenge since larger resolutions would require more rigorous work and creativity.
I don't think this should even be considered until such time as the people who inhabit this section learn to interact in a more socially acceptable way. As it stands now, this will just end up in people insulting each other's work, and person.

Negative criticism is only an insult if you perceive it as one. Until people in this section can interact with each other in a mature way instead of getting butthurt over honest opinions this should not be encouraged.

Socially acceptable doesn't mean lying. Some have the ability to dress their comments up in a nice way, some don't.
