Discovery Gaming Community

Can I ask why we have this subforum, General Discussion?
It isn't in the mod section, nor the game section.
It is infact, in the community section.

Community's discuss things.
Whilst some discussions tend to degenerate frequently and so are put down before they can start, there has to be a line somewhere.

I'd like to be able to discuss a news report about a completely non-political or religious related topic with the folks I play Freelancer with. That's what this section is about I thought.

If such a thing is nothing to do with a Gaming Community, why do we not just delete this section and move the pictures thread to the gaming section?

Threads about murders and deaths from the news should not really be here. Useful things, like science-y stuff, is obviously okay. We don't need to read about X boy and Y girl who got killed/mutilated/raped/kidnapped/tortured by Z criminal.
