Right, the QCRF rollcall has been up for like, 8 days, and I'm assuming that everyone who didn't post there aren't part of the group anymore...which means we have a disturbingly low member count.

On another point, I was going to ask if it would be ok to add a member (who I will refrain from naming to avoid biases) with permission to fly either a GB or a dessie, because of that member's stated lag problems, and thus rather poor ability to fly and fight in a fighter....My own position was a gunboat, but...with our current low membercount, I'm worried about the cap/fighter ratio...so opinions on that would be nice.

The whole faction has a rather low membercount, containing only about active people, with others who probably will not come back, and with a grand total 5 in QCR, 3 in QCO, 2 in QCP....well, what to do?

QCR is an active group, seems to be developing a new bank, while QCP has recently lost its bank, and commodore, and needs those replaced. QCO, well, looks rather scrawny.

From where I'm sitting, things look rather bleak, on the good side of things, I may be getting back ingame soon, but with BULLDOGNK's resignation, I'm not sure about actually having any characters.

So, QCRF...thoughts? comments, so forth?...and sure, you other people can jump in if you really feel you have something to add.
Though I may have started in BPA, I enjoy flying my QCR almost as much. Right now, since BPA Scott is captured I have been flying QCR Scott (two different people), its fun, but yes, we really are low on members, I could ask the BPA to join up if you want.
I didn't delete the QCP bank, actually. I'll see about getting it handed over.
Bank would be great, thanks.
Also, as it seems to still be an issue of confusion, The QCRF is the BAF faction...anyone calling themselves BAF without a QCx tag is an indie...we're the Factionalized Bretonian armed forces. And they are, for all intents and purposes, except for some strangeness regarding the Privateer's branch, all one faction...people who join get stuck in whichever group has less people at the time...QCP being different, because it is supposed to be smaller, and is playing fast and loose with the rules, and such, is not open to everyone.
Anyone suggesting we call it BAF, I will shoot down on grounds that I like QCRF, and find the main argument: 'BAF is easier to understand' simply insufficient...I don't care. If you seriously have trouble linking QCRF to the brets, you're an idiot, or you have put 0 effort into understanding it, and are now suggesting that I change. It isn't secret information.

One could ask their faction mates to join. I'm not sure it solves anything, because the crux of the issue is that QCRF is a secondary faction for most people.
A few thoughts :

1. People (especially players new to Disco) tend to join the clans that they see represented on the server. From my time zone of game playing (GMT - 5) QCRF and its affiliates might as well not exist, and I wouldn't know that they did if it wasn't for my knowledge from the forum. I think that you already know that this is your biggest problem.

2. LSF and SA are getting recruits like dogs get fleas, largely for reasons associated with my first point. I suggest that you strike some sort of deal with LSF and SA to "borrow" some of their members somehow, or convince them to close their recruitment and send interested people in your direction.

3. Perhaps you can get a commitment from your members to make QCRF their "primary" clan for a one week period, or on certain days of the week for a while. That will get you a noticeable presence on the server in a coordinated way. After all, people generally want to work as a team, and if no one else is online in their QCRF clan character, then chances are that no one will switch to it even if all the members are online simultaneously.

4. As has been stated before, Traders are the lifeblood of any area. Pirates come to attack them, and the lawfuls have nothing to do if there are no traders to protect. So, somehow, you've got to get traders in Bretonia. The good news is that I have actually been seeing more Traders in Bretonia lately, and The Lane Hackers have made a small number of quick sortees recently over there to pirate when Liberty is deathly quiet.

5. Perhaps some sort of diplomatic mission to Manhattan using several great-looking Bretonian military craft could create some interest in people coming to Bretonia. Perhaps you could offer escort for traders going that way on the return trip, or offer to buy traders some Bretonian goods to take out of Bretonia.

6. I suggest "joint training exercises" or "war games" between QCRF and LSF/SA. This will create some visibility for Bretonian RP and ships among the new players who tend to hang out in Liberty and might generate some interest in what you have to offer. It seems to me that this could fit with the general political tensions that are developing between the colonies.

Finally, The Lane Hackers are ready to assist in helping to make your clan successful, in any way that we can.

I love suggestions 3 and 6. Brilliant, Xoria! Tuesdays are now "QCRF Day" for me.:PAlso, Unseelie and the others and I will work on trying to set up some joint training exercises, sorta like the USA and Britain used to do together during the Cold War. Besides bringing attention to the faction, it'll be fun!:D
it's too bad more isn't done with the kusari/bretonia war. if that were a regular thing you'd have recruits pouring out of your ears.
Not necessarily. We don't do so well; there are only two ships we have that are superior to the Kusari standard: the Hussar CAN beat the Chimaera, though it's a long tough fight; and our BS is better. But we've never used battleships in a BAF/KNF fight, and the Hussar has to be flown with a certain level of care to be effective. Our bomber is excellent, but the catamaran is better...uses a light fighter hitbox, whereas the Challenger uses the hitbox of one of the two biggest, fattest VHFs.

I have set up weekly regular QCRF vs KNF event here:

Weekly QCRF vs KNF Event

And I have set up weekly regular QCRF vs UOG event here:

Weekly QCRF vs UOG event

These have been used with some success.

Plus Stratus and I have started an Armory for QCR, and have recruited a few people. One more likely has joined today.

So to summarize:

1. QCR is growing. Regular events so far have been fun. BPA also participates.

2. Unselie if you can get in-game it may help QCO grow.

3. QCP? Dunno. Blunt leaving it, its a problem. The RP idea is cool but I know the ***** about it by people getting pirated was a pain in QCP's butt.

Me in a Templar and 2 BPA in Hussars recently took out a KU GB and 2 Chimareas., so it can be done.

So far the victories have been KNF heavy, but that exception was a hell of an exception..

EDIT : The Templar is underrated, I do very well with it, against good players, and I think it is because it's built like a brick S***house. I do as well with it as with the Wrath, which should make no sense, but...
I like the idea of training, plus if we're so spread out, why not just make all the QCX's universal all into QCRF?
but training sounds good, maybe once every month or two, so we can rally together our forces and maybe go fight in the Tau's or something.
