Browsing around on youtube I stumbled upon a video from a testament cam showing an Osiris trying to escape Bretonia. This prompted me to watch some more videos, and I was instantly interested, being heavily into sci-fi and space sims while looking for one at the time.
The fact that it was also a RP community was a huge bonus and probably what prompted me to try it out.

After a short tour in SP, all I could think of was that video, and decided to fire up Discovery, go online and get stuck in there. I have been flying around for roughly 2 weeks now, keeping mostly to myself(I'm a bit shy, hehe) trying to grasp the basics and studying(with good intentions, I promise!:$) the denizens of Sirius while exploring the different factions and the Sirius background lore. So far, I am deeply impressed.

As I am slowly getting more involved with the rest of the Disco community ingame, I thought it would be a good time to stop skulking in the shadows and formaly introduce myself to the wonderful poeple that are the discovery community.

So here goes, my name is Guus, am 21 years young and hail from Barendrecht, Holland.
I am a sucker for Sci-fi and am currently getting my feet wet in RP, while not a complete stranger to it I have never actively done any fulltime RP. I am very excited to become part of this community and hope you lot will take me in. :)

See you in space,

Djerung
Hey there. You'll find this place has its upsides and downsides. It all depends who you run across, really. For the most part, we're all friendly though, so don't worry about that. :P

A few good bits of advice would be this: get Skype and join a faction. As in Morrowind, things get easier when you join an organisation. In Morrowind, it'll unlock trainers, merchants and missions. In Discovery, it'll unlock training, armouries and events. Not to mention friends. You'll make a lot of good friends in the faction IM chats.

I would say to read the server rules, but you strike me as the sort of person who wouldn't need to be told that in the first place. Most of it is just common sense and courtesy anyway. If you do get Skype, feel free to add me. I can set you up in a few factions, or point you towards some others that might suit you. If not, I can answer any questions you might have.

Have a goodun'.

Of course we'll let you in, we always welcome new members. Read rules, have fun and don't join CR. (bandit)

But... that's where most of the Dutch folk hang out!!

Welcome sir.

(Good for one Pineal Amulet and Shine at Shasta!)

23's,
Mal
Thanks for the welcome guys!

I have taken repeated looks at the rules, and will do so many more times untill I am positive I can score a 10 in a pop quiz. What was also extremely useful was reading the laws of the various Houses, when I started I got into trouble a few times trading things I wasn't supposed to, even though they were legal.:$

Seeing as, to my knowledge, CR is hostile to pretty much all of Sirius, I think I'll start somewhere a tiny bit easier hehe.

Jammi: I'll add you on Skype, I am indeed interested in joining a faction, haven't quite decided which one yet, most are appealing one way or another. I still have a world of questions!:D

A new player is in town! Welcome!

Have fun here, ignore the trolls and hope you will have a great time at disco.
Enjoy your stay mate;)
Cheers
I can reccommend a few factions.
For trading, Either Interspace, Bowex or USI is your best bet to start off.
They're simple, relatively uncomplicated factions that help their newbies tons.
For lawfuls, try the BAF. They take just about anyone and'll train ye up a lot.
For pirating, I personally had great success learning from McNeo and Zelot and the all the guys at The Brotherhood, but joining the Rogues or the [M]ollys isn't a bad bet either.
Yeah, YouTube freelancer videos really cool.
From faction I can advice Samura| and FTU. But in FTU yup will money like trader even if you are escorting or mining.
If you want to Hunt join EDGE|. They are already registered on most lawful bounty boards
Hi, explore the game and find out what you'd like to play as. It's certainly the best thing to do because some things really differ from SP.

Have fun.
