Soo... I heard that .86 Armored transport is really badass and so are other light transports and i could try Camara as well. Which one with what setup could be best if...

I intend to fight/defent against: Primarily fighters/bombers
Secondarily other transports
I dont want/need to fight off GBs or anything simmilar.

It will be for Freelancer IDed character - mostly lawful-neutral.
I dont plan on mounting higher AU than CAU 5 (x3.3)
Any transport and any freighter is okay...
So, yeah...
The issues to consider are hull strength, turret mounts, and power plant. The liners are the closest thing there is to civilian cruiser, and the transports with 10+ guns are also very good and will handle better than the liners. Once you are below that it is really about what you want to fly more than anything else.

The most powerful civilian ship is probably the gallic liner, given the turret placement, but the ID requirements are a little stiff.

Salvager is the best fighting transport you can get but that's not really civilian.
As i said... It will be with Freelancer ID... And something light-swiftish preferably...

It is, and I find that it handles better than the Bison, but I might be wrong. It doesn't shake around like the Bison does, and it turns fairly fast, got a good shape and 12 turrets placed nicely.

And you can get it on a Council ID and do lots of trade - there are quite a few good traderoutes to/from Rousillion, and Sirius is somewhat open/positive to you, as compared to GRN and Gallic lawful corporations...

PM me if you get the ship and want some good Council RP trade routes.

EDIT: Re-read the OP, and the Gallic Liner probably isn't what you are looking for. I have a few good ships (in my experience) here:

Gallic Assault Transport - fairly small (for a transport), large cargo capacity for its size and agility, heavy armor. Has a CD.

Ptrans - the classic and classy ship of pirates.

Anki - highly maneuverable, can mount class 10 guns - difficult for bombers to snac

http://discoverygc.com/wiki/Anki

Grizzly - agile, can mount 4 class 9 guns.

Bactrian - agile, looks like a happy little puppy, mounts 4 class 9 guns as well

And thats my 2 cents.

How's that work? Luci has 4000 cargo, Council ID is limited to ships with 3600 cargo

I've seen those around, its a nice ship. 8 turrets on a smallish ship so it is going to be good for aiming. Power plant is a little light, and the tech chart says Gallic Civ ships have a 10% nerf for general Freelancer ID, so probably need to limit yourself to the 50k shield.

No it is not

EDIT: In fact, there are no limitations on cargo what so ever. It is one very very generous ID. Just checked one of my council ships

EDIT 2: And the Liner is treated as Gallic civilian tech, so no nerfs on a Council ID either.
Nice. Some of the house IDs got their cargo caps removed in the 3rd publish (ex: LPI can have a barge now) so Council was probably included in that.

Wiki lies:)

BTW: Dingo i just looked carefully at your name and i rolfed so hard that i woke up my family
Battle Camara <3 - A real gunboat for real man. And also very good bomber-trolling tool given it's size and 6 turrets all of which have 360 horizontal arcs.
Armored Transport - Poor man's gunboat. Full T4s and turret steer will make fighters Q_Q while fighting you.

I agree with you, but I'd like to add that Armoured Transport is better with full Sammaels/equal turrets, tested it in Conn not a long time ago.
