Special Roleplay Requests
Roleplay is an integral part of Discovery Freelancer. For this reason there are several ways in which a player can enhance their character or create something truly unique (within reason). Things like unique IDs are the most commonly requested items which help certain characters evolve beyond limits imposed by a standard. A player can also request special effects to their character with consistent enough Roleplay and solid reasoning.
➤Special Roleplay Regulations
1. 2,500,000 is the fee for an SRP application. It will be taken from the character identified and is not refundable.
2. The Application will be posted in this subforum, using the form provided below, and will only become visible if said Request is approved.
3. The SRP application will be considered as processed and decided on once it gains the uncontested vote of at least 3 members of staff, with at least one of those members being an admin. If the initial voting fails to reach a conclusion, the SRP will then be passed to an admin vote, and if the request fails to pass, the thread is closed and the application fails.
4. No Lobbying Rule: An applicant may not contact the staff in regards to their SRP request status while the request is being considered. The applicant may ask once, after a week, for a status update.
5. If the request is approved, the SRP holder will be placed under a keen watch. Any sanctions the SRP holder receives (on any character, even one unrelated to the SRP) may also impact their SRP depending on the severity of the sanction, resulting with a possible revoke decision in addition to other consequences. Administrators also reserve the right to revoke any SRP if the owner fails to meet the standards of an special roleplay character post approval.
6. The SRP application must have an extensive forum background, and the content linked in the request must either belong to the applicant, or be a group effort with the permission of everyone involved to use the material for the posted SRP request. It should be consistent with Discovery Freelancer's lore.
7. Coupled with the forum backstory, the character which is the focus of the SRP should have a server presence of at least one month, building up the character ingame in a "legit" ship, rather than simply magically appearing after the SRP is granted.
8. If the request is approved, the applicant must be prepared to respond, within 7 days, in this subforum, to any SRP check-in posted by admin staff on a random basis with links to relevant content in regards to section 5 of the original application and should show ongoing development. Failure will normally result in the SRP being revoked.
9. If the request fails, the player can try again after 2 weeks have passed. If the SRP is simply reposted after a fail with few to no changes, it gets automatically denied.
10. After approval, any changes made to the character apart from entirely cosmetic ones (e.g. lights and engine) is handled on an "only allowed if approved" basis. Changing the name of the character, the ship or its loadout, considerable changes to the diplomacy and reputation of the character, or change of ownership cannot be done without a prior admin approval in form of a SRP change request.
11. Special effects, lights, and engines can be requested as part of a SRP request, and will be approved if justified within the character's roleplay background.
12. Server Administrators reserve the right to revoke a special roleplay permission if it fails to meet the post-approval requirements, or the owner fails to keep to the expected quality standards. Furthermore, any sanctions the owner receives from the time of approval on any character related or unrelated to the approved request, would first and foremost effect the status of their special roleplay character.
➤Special Roleplay Request Form
This is a form that helps us understand what you are requesting. Copy the form and create a new thread with your character's name for better identification here.
➤Approved Characters Change Request Form
Roleplay evolves and changes like clay. Eventually something happens and what a player submits (and is approved) requires tune-up. A new ID line, a new effect has to be added or removed...maybe even add in technology previously inaccessible to the character. For that reason there is a specific form to fill whenever the player wants to make a change to their Approved SRP. Copy the form below and submit it as a thread here. No credits will be deducted.
Said thread should be named something like this for easy identification:
'Change Request: <APPROVED SRP CHARACTER NAME HERE>
A ship caught not following its prescribed SRP that doesn't have an approved change request for the new loadout will have its original SRP stripped entirely. Additionally, if your ship was approved under one of the older systems and uses an outdated writeup, any change request should also include an updated writeup* using the current special roleplay request form. You must be the SRP holder listed in the original request to be able to update it.
➤Approved Requests Check-In Form
If a Special Roleplay Request is approved, the applicant is required to post in this subforum again within 1 week of any check-in requests posted by admins. These will be random in nature with all SRP's checked sporadically.
The reply to a check-in request should be posted as a new thread in this subforum, and it will be reviewed by the staff. Once the check-in post is processed, it will be merged with the original request and made visible. The character does not essentially need to achieve the full extent of the exact goals listed in the original request, but notable effort must have been put into further developing the character within the scope of the approved request.
In order to submit to an SRP activity check-in, use the form below:
