Wouldn't it be easiest to give faction leaders moderator privileges within their own faction's subforum? This means they can actually enforce the post restrictions in their inRP threads, pin or lock their own threads and otherwise tamper with things.

Means real moderators won't have to be bothered with relatively trivial faction house-cleaning, and faction leaders can streamline the paperwork process for their own faction. It's not like feedback threads are in faction sub-forums, so no real damage can be done.

Abuse isn't a problem. The only thing they'll be able to abuse is their own faction - so why would they? Thoughts?
100% after this idea. I am trying to clean the BPA topics for months....
yes this very much:nyam:
Supported
We decided not to based on the possible abuse that could come from it. It's simply more hassle to have oversight over faction leaders than to just do the moderation ourselves on request.

Also i thought once you had the mod commands? it was for all of forums, and not just parts of it. Atleast that is what Cannon said about a year ago. Something about having to re-organize the entire forum for that to work.

Do please explain.

It depends on which level of subforums.

How is factions' sub-sub-subforum:
Whole board: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?act=idx
Forum: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showforum=17
Subforum: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showforum=98
2nd subforum: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showforum=172
3rd subforum: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showforum=109

How is one of sub-sub-subforum
Whole board: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?act=idx
Forum http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showforum=40
Subforum: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showforum=34
2nd subforum, which has mods: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showforum=62

So basically, if only 2nd level of subforum can have admins, and the 3rd ones cannot, then it would need to be redone. To move http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showforum=98 subforum into level above it.

Either way, factions can always use external forums. These personal subforums are just additional perk that official factions receive, but nobody forces to use them.

Leader might change the contents of post made by members of factions to incriminate and stuff. This might lead to huge crapstorms of different levels upon community, ooRP grudges & stuff.

If you are correct this will still mean that admins would have to change/re-organise the forums. That is more work, not less.
Plus as to what "possible abuse"? Anytime a player makes a post that is not liked that faction mod will delete it. Even if it should be there, and is in RP. THAT is the "possible abuse".

I'm not sure, but I believe a mod can have powers over a subforum (like events, general discussions, flood, etc), but not sub-subforums. Of course, I could be wrong about that.

Deleting posts because they don't like them, or because they are having personal issues with another faction member. People becoming the new faction leader and going on a crusade against the others in the faction he dislikes or are rivals, etc, etc, etc.

Forum mods have a lot of regulations to follow, and frankly, we can't trust every faction leader to abide by them.
