In my opinion, the IDs for various factions need to change. Currently we have 5 main types:

-Lawful
Can trade, hunt pirates/terrorists etc

-Unlawful
Can pirate, can hunt lawfuls, etc

-Mercenary
Collects bounties, limited trading and no pirating

-Xenos Terrorist
Can blow up traders (with a ridiculous cash demand, right?) and lawfuls/unlawfuls

-Terrorist /Keeper ID
May attack anyone

The different factions should base themselves on the original copy&paste system, with added clauses for behaviour, equipment/ship choices and more.

Example: Gaian Terrorist ID
The owner has joined the Gaian terrorists of Bretonnia. Gaian Terrorist ID grants its owner the right to scan other ships and demand cargo if it is being carried, destroy Planetform traders, escorts and traders carrying Terraforming Gases without demand, engage Bounty Hunters and lawfuls, fufill Gaian-side bounty contracts, participate in unlawful military actions, and trade. May not ally with lawful forces, except against a common foe (Nomads, Keepers, Wild, etc).
hopefully people read the informations, too. - i enjoy reading ingame lore, but i m allways surprised when i see someone fly around in a ship and it turns out that this person hasn t even read the information of his own ship.

btw. i d not use the term "destroy on sight" - as we all like them to RP a little, even if they don t need to demand money:)
If possible, I'd like the ids to also be expanded with a little roleplay guide for the faction. Is there a character limit for the infocards?

Pilot carrying this ID has joined the Xenos. Xeno ID owners can attack any lawful and most unlawful ships at will and participate in military operations on unlawful side. Xeno ID owners are not allowed to ally with lawful forces or demand cargo from traders; also, they are not allowed to use capital ships, super heavy fighters, transports and liners.

Xeno ID owners are not allowed to ally with lawful forces or demand credits from traders; also, they are not allowed to use capital ships, transports or liners.

The idea being that the Xenos don't need to be 'taxing' trade vessels, rather we're of the action of demanding they dump their cargo or face the back of our hand.

I also requested that the SHF ban be lifted.
Ok, here is my proposed list of changes, and i'll update it as I think up changes and/or people suggest alternatives. I will write in nice red letters "EDITED" next to ones I have personally changed. Check this topic to see the original IDs. Apologies to the Linkus who posted this originally, I hope he does not mind my copy/pasting for this discussion. Would be quite a headache getting it all togther in one place otherwise.

Ageira Technologies ID Edited
Pilot carrying this ID is employed by the Ageira Technologies. Ageira Technologies ID grants its owner right to trade, escort traders, hunt pirates and terrorists. Asgard Warriors ID
Pilot carrying this ID is a member of Asgard Warriors (AW). AW ID grants its owner right to trade, escort traders, hunt pirates and terrorists, fulfil bounty contracts, participate in military operations on lawful side, engage lawful ships as long as RP status allows to do so. AW ID owner cannot pirate or commit acts of terrorism.

Carrying unmounted IDs in your ship, as well as not equipping an ID, is a serious crime. Using player faction IDs is not allowed for players who are not members of appropriate faction and for players who were expelled from the faction.

Pilot carrying this ID has joined the Blood Dragons. Blood Dragon ID grants its owner right to scan other ships, demand cargo (not allowed for cruisers and battleships, unless target is carrying passengers, VIPs, Artifacts and/or allied pilots or items declared contraband), engage bounty hunters and lawfuls, fulfil bounty contracts and participate in military operations on unlawful side. Blood Dragon ID owner cannot ally with lawful forces (except with the Gas Miners Guild, or against the Wild, Nomads and Keepers). Blood Dragon ID may attack Samura Industries ID at will.

Bounty Hunter ID Edited
Pilot carrying this ID has joined the Bounty Hunters Guild. Bounty Hunter ID grants its owner right to fulfil bounty contracts, escort traders, hunt pirates and terrorists, participate in military operations on lawful side. Bounty Hunter ID owner cannot participate in any unlawful actions and trade on regular basis. Bounty Hunter ID may not ally with unlawfuls (except against Nomads, Wild or Keepers).

BPA ID owner cannot participate in any unlawful actions and fulfill bounty contracts. BPA ID may not ally with unlawfuls (except with Golden Chrysanthemum Terrorist ID, and against Wild, Nomad or Keeper ID).

Pilot carrying this ID has joined the Bundschuh. Bundschuh ID owners can attack any Daumann Heavy Construction, Kruger Minerals, Republican Shipping, Rheinland Military, Rheinland Federal Police and Gas Miners Guild ID ships at will and participate in military operations on unlawful side. Bundschuh ID owners are not allowed to ally with lawful forces (except against non-Rheinland pirate, military or Nomad invasions) and must demand cargo or credits from Trader ID and any House Corporation ID not stated.
Allowed ships: Fighters, Freighters, Transports, Gunboats.

Civilian ID
Civilian ID is handed to every beginning freelancer. On role-playing servers, the ID item serves as your RP identity; in addition to that, the ID works as a cargo beam of your ship. Don't lose or unmount this item, and transfer it each time you buy a new ship, otherwise you will be unable to tractor goods in space.
According to Discovery RP 24/7 server rules, the Civilian ID is valid until player reaches level 40. After reaching level 40, the player should choose a faction to join and confirm the choice by buying a faction ID. Cost of IDs ranges from 40 thousand to 1 million credits, and they can be found on primary bases or planets of all the Sirius factions. ID will be sold only if the freelancer is on friendly terms with appropriate faction. Several types of IDs exist: freelancer, military, mercenary, trader, pirate, terrorist, and neutral; different IDs have different ship and action restrictions listed in the end of their descriptions. Never forget to transfer your ID each time you buy a new ship.
On Discovery PvP 24/7 server, changing IDs is optional. Players might use the Civilian ID or any other ID regardless of level.

Coalition ID
Pilot carrying this ID is a member of The Coalition. Coalition ID grants its owner right to attack military, police, and pirate targets throughout Sirius, and fulful bounty contracts. Coalition ID owners are not allowed to trade, engage traders and civilians, demand cargo, and ally with any Sirius factions.

Corsair ID Edited
Pilot carrying this ID has joined the Corsairs. Corsair ID grants its owner right to scan other ships and demand cargo if it is carried (not allowed for cruisers and battleships, unless target is carrying passengers, VIPs, Cardamine and/or allied pilots or items declared contraband), engage bounty hunters and lawfuls, fulfill bounty contracts, participate in military operations on unlawful side, and may only trade in Artifacts. Criminal ID
Pilots who violate laws and customs of Sirius get a Criminal ID. Criminal ID allows its owner to participate in all kinds of lawful activities, trade and fulfil bounty contracts. Owner of Criminal ID cannot take part in military operations or unlawful actions. When offender will improve, this ID might be removed. Removing Criminal ID is allowed only with permission of higher authority. Cargo beam disabled.

Cryer Pharmaceuticals ID Edited
Pilot carrying this ID is employed by Cryer Pharmaceuticals. Cryer Pharmaceuticals ID grants its owner right to trade, escort traders, hunt pirates and terrorists. Cryer Pharmaceuticals ID owner cannot participate in any unlawful actions (except smuggling of Synthetic Marijuana) or military operations and cannot fulfill bounty contracts.

Deep Space Engineering ID
Pilot carrying this ID is employed by Deep Space Engineering (DSE). DSE ID grants its owner right to trade, escort traders, hunt pirates and terrorists. DSE ID owner cannot participate in any unlawful actions or military operations, cannot fulfil bounty contracts.
Allowed ships: Fighters, Freighters, Transports

Farmers Alliance ID Edited
Pilot carrying this ID has joined the Farmers Alliance. Farmers Alliance ID grants its owner right to scan other ships and demand cargo (not allowed for cruisers and battleships unless target is carrying Cardamine, allied pilots or has a Synth Food Inc. ID), engage bounty hunters and lawfuls, fulfill bounty contracts, participate in military operations on both the unlawful and lawful side (with Kusari lawfuls only), and trade. Farmers Alliance ID may not ally with lawfuls (except Kusari lawfuls). Farmers Alliance ID can attack Synth Foods Inc. ID at will.

Freelancer ID grants its owner right to participate in missions and military operations on both the lawful and unlawful sides, fulfill lawful and unlawful bounty contracts, escort traders, hunt pirates, lawfuls and terrorists. Freelancer ID owner is not allowed to pirate.

Gaian Terrorist ID Edited

Golden Chrysanthemum Terrorist ID Edited
Pilot carrying this ID has joined the Golden Chrysanthemum Terrorists. Golden Chrysanthemum Terrorist ID owners can attack any Samura Industries, Kusari Navy, Kusari State Police, Kishiro Technologies, Hogosha ID ships at will and participate in military operations on unlawful side and lawful side (with Bretonian lawfuls only). Golden Chrysanthemum Terrorist ID owners are not allowed to ally with lawful forces (except Bretonian lawful ID or against the Nomads, Wild and Keepers) and must demand cargo or credits from Trader ID and any House Corporation ID not stated. Golden Chrysanthemum Terrorist ID may not demand cargo or credits from Interspace Commerce ID, unless it is carrying artifacts or allied pilots.

Helghast ID owners cannot join lawful forces.

Interspace Commerce ID
Pilot carrying this ID is employed by the Interspace Commerce (IC). IC ID grants its owner right to trade, escort traders, hunt pirates and terrorists (except Golden Chrysanthemum Terrorist ID). IC ID cannot participate in any unlawful actions or military operations and cannot fulfill bounty contracts.
Allowed ships: Fighters, Freighters, Transports

Junker ID Edited
Pilot carrying this ID has joined the Junkers. Junker ID grants its owner right to scan other ships and demand cargo (not allowed for cruisers and battleships, unless target is carrying Junker pilots), engage bounty hunters and lawfuls, fulfil bounty contracts, participate in military operations on both lawful and unlawful side, and trade. Junker ID owner cannot ally with lawful forces (except against Hogosha, Xeno Terrorist, Nomad, Wild and Keeper ID).

Keeper ID
Pilot carrying this ID is not actually a pilot but a Nomad. Nomads are hostile to everything human in Sirius sector. They may attack any ship or station on sight, but cannot demand cargo or ally with humans. Tractor beam disabled: Nomads are not interested in human loot.
Allowed ships: Any Nomad ships

Kishiro Technologies ID
Pilot carrying this ID is employed by the Kishiro Technologies. Kishiro Technologies ID grants its owner right to trade, escort traders, hunt pirates and terrorists. Kishiro Technologies ID owner cannot participate in any unlawful actions or military operations, cannot fulfil bounty contracts.
Allowed ships: Fighters, Freighters, Transports

Kruger Minerals ID

2. IMG got his own armament industry running so in some years (next version) they should be able to participate in military operations if someone kindly asks them to.
I think the Outcast and Corsair ones should say their trading needs to involve those two, but its kind of... weird if Corsairs can't take food and Pharmaceuticals to Crete...


ALSO, Bundschuh ID needs the same kind of reform as Gaians- I'll say it again, but Bundschuh ARE NOT PIRATES. Do I need to camp the bar for awhile on a new char and screenshot the rumor that says "We don't pirate" or what???
But they got to do something for a living. I say we let their exiled ones trade somewhere outside of Rheinland. Most of them are academics anyway so they should have some business knowledge to get money for weapons.

I have edited quite a number now and made some personal changes, along with adding a couple of proposed changes by the various people who have so far posted here.

The changes to the four house police IDs are basically the removal of being able to fly battleships.
