Hello, everyone.

I have once again stumbled upon Freelancer and discovered this lovely mod along the way. First, a big thank you to all those involved with this.

Now, I actually do have a question about "being correctly pirated" or better, the cash transfer. Is it neceessary to type in the player name or is "/givecash #t <amount>" sufficient?

English is not my native language so the occasional misspelling is not a complete lack of brain but rather me maybe not knowing better.

Anyway, see you out there (and please, keep your guns away from my little transport Wink)
Welcome to Disco mate!

To answer your question, unless I am mistaken, you DO have to type in their entire name... OR you can open up a trade window with them (this may or may not be faster depending on your typing speed Wink ), you can find the "Offer Trade" option in the lower left/center of your screen when you select a player within ~2k.

Cheers!

Welcome, like Veygaar said, you don't always have to /givecash, you can also select the player, click on the trade button, and select the amount yo wish to give. (Many lolwut pirates however lack the brain capacity to understand how trade button works though, be careful with the idiots, not all pirates are like that though.)
Heyo and wlecome to Disco,

Just like the two above mentioned either are aplicable to dealing with pirates.
Although speaking from KA pirating experiences the trade window is often better. This is two fold, namely it'll allow the pirate to know that you are going to pay them the agreed sum; as well as the names of pirates can often have a . at the end (i.e. Kaito.Kamida. as apposed to Kaito.Kamida).
This is easily enough, and can often, cause you/other traders to send it to another one of the pirates ships while the pirate is unable to know that you have infact payed.

Anyway, if your about in Kusari i'll be more than happy to give you a first hand experience.

So have fun about in Disco,
And Good luck
I've always found the best way to deal with pirates is a mixture of escorts, Shires and capital armour upgrades. The first time a convoy you're a member of turns the tables on a pirate is always a novel experience. Tongue

Welcome to Discovery, in any case! If you're looking to get your teeth into trading, I can certainly give you a hand. Bowex is recruiting as well, but I've a bit of a vested interest in that one, so you might want to take my recommendation with a pinch of salt. Big Grin
¡Hola, bienvenido!

Have fun aboard the forums and enjoy your stay.
Welcome aboard. Please do read the rules before you start playing and live by them. As an Administrator, I hold to the thought, "ignorance of the rules is no excuse."

Now play nice.
Welcome to Disco!

The #t shortcut only works for /setmsg which can only be used in local, system or group chat. As said above, you'll have to type out their full name. Be sure to tell them you're doing it first of course.

Anyway, have a look at what RP takes your fancy either in a faction or as an independent.

Have fun, maybe see you in space.
