if the ID allows it yes. but plain Pirate id max usage was Gunboats if i remember correctly

Yes, Cruisers can pirate.
Go for it. Its one of those changes that the server made not really long ago. Just make sure your ID lets you fly in a cap and that you can pirate and your good.
Oh and don't piss other pirate organisations off please like the LR. If your an OC then caps gotta stay away from Liberty space.
Hm cruiser to pirating ships... thats realy hard. So we need new battle transporters with bigger guns... changes are not always good.
Escaping from a Cruiser is easy, you have the same thrust speed as them. Don't ever get in range of them and you'll be fine. Keep a watchful eye on your scanner as you go down lanes, almost all pirates can be avoided this way.
Well it all started when people decided that they wanted to shoot transports from caps cause they were "breaking" Sirus laws right in front of them for example and they couldn't do anything. Just like now caps can enforce the law on smuggling and what not, so can pirate caps now steal. Although its pretty hard to pirate in a cruiser... you can just run away.
