I've just had some nostalgic feelings about my first days on Discovery. And I'd like to invite you to a time travel back to the time when you joined Disco. What were your first experiences? Here are five questions which might help you remembering:

I'll start:
1.
I've entered NY with my Starflea, when I noticed W.F.Cody's system spam advertisement (when he just opened his store back then). Since I was pretty new, and had no clue about the forums/rules yet, I said in system chat something like "Hey I'm new here, is there anyone german who could help me?" (Those were probably my first and only OOC lines. I swear!) However, I was lucky and Cody answered me in green letters that he indeed is german, and offered his help. In a few minutes, I've learned the basics of the game and was told that this is a Roleplay server. Wonderful!
In May 2010, I had my very first RP encounter with Cody, where I shipped Wine to Cody's shop with my CSV. Lovely task for a newcomer. Soon I had enough credits to get myself a freighter and left Liberty for some serious trading. Then my next encounters were mostly with pirates/unlawfuls who robbed my pants and so on.

My first bought ship was the awesome Camara freighter, with that I've made my first 10 millions to upgrade it to a Mammoth. Then I've mostly hauled human cargo within all the four houses. My third ship was my loved Border World Transport, with which I've also mapped whole Sirius where I've had the most exotic encounters (Wilde/Nomads/Phantoms included). At that time I fell in love with the Omicrons, and I've bought myself a Hathor. (Yes, the Omicrons were the most awesome place at that time (and still can be). Zoner/Corsair war, BHG|Core - Order| pews, Keeper raids, LN raids in Minor, Corsair/Outcast massacres etc.) My next ships were mostly Snubs.

I've made my first billion credits during the "Gold Rush" in Dublin, when it was sold for 15k (or even more?) at Detroit Munitions. A Hegemon and BWT was all I needed for it. I've 'wasted' my first billion in a CAU8 Outcast Tridente then (called Chuck.Norris), where I've had loads of fun with daily Gamma raids.

Then I had a longer break (where most of my chars died to the inactivity wipe, except for two ships) and over a year later when I've joined the server, I've joined my first unofficial faction [Convoy] (now known as BAF|MN). Where I've spent drunken nights with awesome people. Soon after, I've tried my luck with Interspace Commerce, Liberty Rogues and Rheinland Military in November 2011. I've enjoyed my time in each of those factions and learnt a lot. Especially about PvP'ing.

The unknown of Sirius is probably the most thing I miss. Exploring new systems, meeting new groups/factions, finding secret places such as wrecks, alien structures and hidden nebulas where you find unknown jumpholes/bases after hours of searching. And of course the encounters with people you've met along the way. I loved the remote places of Sirius the most. Crowded places such as Liberty were a no-go (except for trading and piracy).
Today, you know all the stuff by heart. There's rarely something new to find. However, sometimes there is, and it makes me think of the good old times again, and fills my heart with pleasure. Now it's the small things and random encounters that I enjoy.
I could think of a hundred more things to write, but I don't want to scare people off with walls of text. Now it's your turn.
1. Describe your first RP encounter/s.
My first RP encounter was undocking from Manhattan, only to be ramkilled by a BHG Dessie sitting next to the ring. I was then told, rather harshly, to leave the system.
2. What were your first five ships?
Sindroms was my first ship. Good name, wasn't it? It was first a defender, then I scouted for peeps and got myself an Executioner, then a Spatial and Joe kicked me out of Liberty because of it. I went then to Alpha, where a guy gave me money for a Hacker GS, then a Rogue GB. That was the tale of [Merc]Sindroms aka Arthur Dgahr.
3. When did you reach your first billion credits?
I think the first time I reached the ten digit mark was when I opened the MD mining company. Basalts with eco chainguns <3.
4. What were your first unofficial/official factions you've joined?
Technically it was the 101st, but I was flying around with the Keepers a lot before it.
5. What do you miss the most?
The people that made those days so awesome. Some left, some changed, most just switched names without telling me :<
1. Describe your first RP encounter/s.
I was trading in my Big Dragon, hauling some cargo into Liberty. Met a Pirate ID'd Hegemon named The.False.Miner who le pew'd me after I told him to F off. Still thought Role Play was just some optional thing that some nerdy guys did cause they had no life. Figured from there on out I'd do this silly "Role Play" thing with guys if I had to to survive...
2. What were your first five ships?
Didn't know about restarts. So Starflee, Rhino, Bumblebee, Big Dragon, Corsair Cruiser (yes I pirated in it all day!)
3. When did you reach your first billion credits?
I hit my billion, much like Narc, during the Gold Rush. But not as a Miner, but instead as a Frankfurt/Munich Pirate. I'd take the ore, swap it to a near by FL ID'd transport, and sell. Rinse repeat baby.
4. What were your first unofficial/official factions you've joined?
My first unofficial faction I actually started myself, the Renegades. Then known as Rorry's Renegades. Still running so got that going for me I guess. First Official? I think Reavers. Damn credit whores
5. What do you miss the most?
The mystery of it all. The old balance. Zoom has ruined so much fun.

My first RP encounters were with a mad scotsman running by the name of Chill. He was LSF, flying a Ravens Claw at the time, I was a psycho junker redneck with a chip on his shoulder named Hillbilly. Fun, fun times.
2.
My first ship. That'd be a looooong time ago. Nearly six years. I don't really remember much before I had a slipstream for Hillbilly. Next up was a Manta I think, as the hunter Stoat was born. Soon progressed onto the BHG gunboat at the time. My god that ship was epic fun. I think I also had an Eagle in which I died soooo many times, and a Sabre, in which I was equally useless. A trend in VHFs which has followed me to this day.

My first billion came on the back of the gold rush, sat in my P Trans happily relieving hapless haulers of their precious cargoes. That was back when Ivan was flying the Mentira. Cargo piracy ftw. Almost no-one else was doing it.
4.
The first faction I joined was the QCP. Recruited by bluntpencil2001. Those were the times that really cemented my love for Disco. Joined the RHA shortly after that as well. Another epic faction, and some really top people. And shortly after the S/D set up as the official BHG everyone now knows.
5.
What I miss most is fair, but challenging fights. Rarely get those any more. It's all about overkill these days, winning the fight with no regard for the people playing on the other side.
1. Describe your first RP encounter/s.
My first proper RP encounter was when I was trading with a Dromedary. Along the way I bumped into an USI trader. I tagged along, he showed me some nice routes and eventually I made an application to join.
2. What were your first five ships?
Dromedary, Falcata (I was lolpirate ), Griffin, Heron and Havok. I started trading with the Dromedary. I wanted to be a pirate (with no intention of being lol, it just happened, I was a newbie), so I bought a Falcata. Back in Alpha I realized I didn't have enough cash for a snac and a kind Outcast lent me the cash. I do remember the crazy trip I did all over Sirius in order to get to Liberty. It was quite fun. Then I joined USI, as an escort. Got a Griffin at first and a good old friend taught me the basics of PvP. Then also got a Havok. Finally, joined the trading division and they lent me the cash for a Heron. To be frank, if it weren't for the USI guys, I probably would have been a newbie for a lot longer. I do owe them a lot.
3. When did you reach your first billion credits?
Never. I had a great deal of ships and assets, capital ships, cap8 armors and a ton of snubs, but I never had that many credits on an account.
4. What were your first unofficial/official factions you've joined?
Very first was USI. Then I think it was LSF. I've been in a ton of factions since them. First unofficials, I think they were KPT and Shinobi. Every single faction I've been in (the list is way too long) has taught me something and I had a great time in every single one of them.
5. What do you miss the most?
The "fizz" I used to get when playing back then. It was a lot of different things: I saw the game differently, met a bunch of great people who eventually stopped playing and so on. But it's not a particular thing I can put my finger on.
1. My first RP encounters where at Gamma. I used to belong to HAF (Hispania Armed Forces), an unofficial Corsair faction formed by a Spanish speaking clan who migrated into Disco back in 07 (or was it 06?). My best RP encounter soon became my meetings with the legendary Slowcat/Sleepyhead.
2. Corsair VHF, Corsair LF, Corsair GB, Adv, Train, Border Worlds Transport.
3. Some four years after I started playing lol, before that I spent the money on shared ships for an OS&C faction I created called Greyhound Passenger Transportation, and the highest ammount of money I used to pile up was just enough for a cau8. It wasn't until
4.86 that I reached the billion, and then I bought a survery scanner and a jumpdrive.
4. After getting banned for 1 month for swearing ingame at some Omega Pirate Guild member, Mal found me powertrading and recruited me into TAZ, I'm in since then. I have been in GMG, AFA, Privateers, ICMG, OS&C, KNF, [C] and some unofficials too.
5. The Border World Transport unbugged, you can't fly that lovely ship this days, gets stuck more frequently than a Kusari Train.
1. Describe your first RP encounter.
As far as I know, it was Mich as Alan Constable eventually finding my indy Paladin during some mission grinding and offering to take me on a patrol. Ended up fighting an indy Lynx for Garg to show up as well, and as I was already interested in joining the BPA I got into the Skype chat instead of revising properly for my exams...
2. What were your first five ships?
I had spent a week or so reading through the Wiki before logging into the server, so I knew about the /restart command. So it was shooting up Legionnaires in a CSV, then a Paladin. That original ship is intact and now my BPA Challenger, probably the most logged kills, missions and time of any of mine.
For the wonders of trading, I bought an X-Shuttle and eventually upgraded to the Firefly (again, I still own this).
My fifth likely would be my fresh BPA Hussar, although this was converted to a Paladin and is my second most active ship.
3. When did you reach your first billion credits?
It might have happened a while ago, but the only time that I've noticed having 1 billion credits on my bankship (rather than spread out over ships, or when don't won the money) was today.
4. What were your first unofficial/official factions you've joined?
Bretonia Police Authority for official, Colonial Republic for (at the time) unofficial. Turns out to be the two factions I'm second in command of and have been running for the most part...
5. What do you miss the most?
The ability to get custom usernames, all that post-hunting for nothing!
1. Describe your first RP encounter/s. (Careful, noob-lolwuttiness inbound)
A friend of mine and I avoided RP encounters because we always died for reasons we did not understand.
So we were (in best lolwut manner) grinding for money to buy fat ships by mining in Dublin in the Molly field on wrongly repped IMG IDed miners (red to Molly). There was a Molly NPC GB patrol, and this patrol really was all we needed to interact with. We ran and died in the beginning, later on fought it and killed it sometimes. And did that so often until the [M] faction realized and shot us dead.
This made me so angry that I wanted to organise a security company that protects miners against the beastly Mollys. Of course all of them. On IMG ID.
And that was when Aeternus (from IMG|) took me aside and told me a few things like... "IMG are neutral with Mollys", "Do not shoot their GBs".... and from then on, things became cool

Another noteworthy encounter was when a group of players who took me with them ran missions on their new GBs somewhere in the Omicrons. In my Spatial, I was just food, but I just stuck in the group and got money. So it was cool. We shot Bretonians and lawfuls and unlawfuls and it was a wild mix of weird missions.
Then the guys logged off and I tried to get out of the system. No way. Nomads killed me 100 %. QQ
I contacted the guys: "Help! Escort me out!" and it took us a lot of effort to get that noob-Spatial out... just to realize that ALL my rep was screwed so badly because of these weird missions. All houses were red. I was devastated. The guys helped me to rerep with... dozens of missions on dozens of ships. I can still laugh me ass off when thinking back on that.

Last one: I had looted all kinds of guns for my Spatial, mounted everything that I could loot etc. It was a ship as oorp as can get. It had IMG ID and Liberty IFF, and droprep was known to me but... wft? 2 million!!! No way!
And then I passed that Bretonian Battleship with an Admin on it. For God's sake, I felt naked afterwards. He ingamely made my ship ingame and conforming to the rules by forcing me to sell all the oorp equipment, and remake my IFF, etc. I think the only thing that saved me from being treated as a complete lolwut was that I could rp (even though I had no clue of Freelancer) or else I would have been such a case for a Bastille sanction followed by the question: "Do tell us what you want to be... and we will give you what you should have."
Stripped and grumbling I flew off, vowing to shoot all the BAF| Battleships... but with a char that was correct.
5. What do you miss the most?
The Dublin Goldrush.
10 OC caps raiding T23 twice per day.
Defending Gamma as Sairs against 24/7 raids.
1. Describe your first RP encounter/s.
Started out as a simple trader with no restarts, headed to the Leeds JH in Magellan. Bam! +8 [Convoy] members around me when I was going to enter the JH. Within 1 day of gaming time on Disco I had a [Convoy] tagged Shire (started with a Percheron, but that got swapped later) with CAU6 donated by the players of Convoy. I felt this warm buzzy feeling. Let out a tear when [Convoy] got tagged BAF|MN. Miss the original tag...
2. What were your first five ships?
Shire. Zoner Whale. Templar. Stork and a Challenger.
3. When did you reach your first billion credits?
5 months after started out. Estatic. They told me it became easier once you reached that and it surely did.
4. What were your first unofficial/official factions you've joined?
[Convoy] of course. OSI shortly after that. Mollys because of epic mining (did 2 Barge fillings per day with my fleet of Hegemons (+20 Molly Hegemons) and I believe Congress.
5. What do you miss the most?
[Convoy] runs to Liberty, spamming the system chat with messages of every captain logging his identification code, rank and name. And getting so much QQ back from people in the system. Epic seeing pirates run. I miss Splitter/Purple Goddess fighter turrets Shire.

crumbs erm.... not many i think was probably when i 1st started in a ship called safe.trader after being killed so easily (im still pretty crap in pvp i normally run)

i think it was the normal start ships i didnt know about the restarts so started out with the helium in penns, untill i could afford the armoured transport, i remember flying some cargo to liberty to make my 1st million, with sweatty palms hoping no one will stop me and rob me, i was thinking ive just saved up enough to buy some commodity to sell to make my 1sy million, and when i got to liberty and made it i had to sit back and stop panicking....for just 1 million, back then seemed alot when 1st starting out
i then found my way into a system that i now cant remember and found a base that was selling the cylon raider ship......wow loved that
whilst flying about i flew into Leeds and who was sitting outside, was 5 shires...the [convoys]......wow i thought my tiny little armoured trans and thos big fat shires, i started talking to them....ah yes thats my 1st reall RP....and they invited me to fly with them, i applied and started out with a perchie and soon became a full member and worked my way to the convoy ranks to be 3rd in command, got me my 1st shire, and remember flying into liberty and rheinland with anywhere upto 10-12 shires i think
