Mundane lessons(Invite Only) - rivaan - 12-24-2015 Planet New Tokyo… The Silvereye Dragon Casino… Staff north side entrance... It’s been what seemed like forever since her shift at the casino started today. Not that she didn’t enjoy her work here, she loved it, but today things were slightly different. She had a meeting arranged for later this late afternoon as her old friend Flora, she met while in space, was going to pay her a visit. Myako smiled as the alarm of her watch finally gave her the signal that her shift ended. After serving her last customers for today, she quickly went back to the staff only door that led to the back of the casino where all the personnel rooms and so on were. Quickly making her way back to her own room, she with surprising speed changed clothing into something more casual and made her way to one of the back exits that were only for people working and living at the casino, you couldn’t have the workers exit and enter via the same way as the VIP guests after all. As she greeted the guards at the door, she quickly stepped outside, her hand briefly slipping across her side on an instinct to check if she had everything on her as she didn’t really use purses, only her pockets. She then leaned on the wall nearby, waiting for her friend to show up. RE: Mundane lessons(Invite Only) - TheSauron - 12-25-2015 It's already been a few months since Flora ended up working for Samura, and yet she still couldn't get used to actually being able to enjoy what she liked to call "normal life". Normal food, average people all around, a stable job and no need for sheer luck to live long enough to see another day. She took a deep breath while enjoying a slow walk towards the back of the casino. Taking a look around the ernomous skyscrapers of New Tokyo, she admired her recently recalimed ability to walk on a reall planet, not some cramped biodome with more armour than plants. That thought immediately took her mind back to Skiros, the only place where she could enjoy a piece of green without having to watch out for bounty hunters spotting her face... A slight sense of something being wrong brought her back to the living. She took another, this time conscious, look around and noticed she already walked past the meeting place. She fixed her black jacked and turned around, only now realising how sheer the amount of people she was so far forcing her way through was. Flora put her hands in her jacket's pockets and made her way to the back side of the casino that was towering the street. She then turned into a small alley that her Personal Miltipurpose Device said to be the place Myako expected to see her at. After a few seconds of carefully looking at the few people she found there, she decided to enter. She found the shoadows of the alley to be surprisngly... calming? Safe? She couldn't really describe the feeling of tranquillity that suddenly flooded her after a few steps. She took yet another look around, this time spotting who she was searching for. She then slowly made her way towards Myako. RE: Mundane lessons(Invite Only) - rivaan - 12-26-2015 “Konnichiwa, Flora-san.” Myako greeted once the person she was waiting for finally arrived. With a smile on her face, she quickly threw a look on her watch to see that the time was exactly the one they had agreed on.” Right on time at that too… Frankly I half expected for it to take you slightly longer to arrive, but this is a pleasant surprise.” She said, leave her comfortable position of leaning on the wall. Taking a few steps to get closer enough to Flora." Arriving in time shows good manners here so people who do it, gain some bonus points straight off the bat." “So where to now? You have a place you want to go or are we just going to wander around for a while?” Myako asked, taking a few steps towards in the direction of the big street nearby.” Still I was quite surprised when you messaged me, Flora-san. I almost thought you will never contact me, but to think this was the problem you had. We can deal with that easy enough I suppose. All you really need to learn is how to talk to people as a kusarian... Our conversation manners are slightly different than those of the others. ” RE: Mundane lessons(Invite Only) - TheSauron - 12-26-2015 - I hope it's as easy as you make it sound. - Flora followed Myako. - And no, I haven't actually thought about it... - she went silent for a moment, thinking of an answer. - I hope you don't mind if we just wander around? It's been years since I last had a chance to just enjoy my time planetside... - her look turned dreamy again as she just watched people walk on the main street. RE: Mundane lessons(Invite Only) - rivaan - 12-27-2015 “Of course I don’t mind.” Myako replied with a smile, leading the way forwards.” Come, I will show you the way to the nearest park… We can buy something to eat and drink from the stalls there if we feel like it there.” She stated and looked at Flora.” Being out in space is all fine, but nothing beats being planetside doesn’t it?” “Well while we wait, we might as well try to work on your problem! Let’s try with something simple, imagine we just met and I introduced myself. My name is Arashi Myako, I suppose you already know it, but here we say our names in reverse, our family names come first then our first ones. It’s polite to use one’s family name when talking unless you are very good friends. Like for example, most people refer to me as Arashi-san.” She said with a slight smirk." I've been among foreigners a lot so their manners aren't really a problem for me though." “That’s the very basics of etiquette in Kusari. People dislike usually being called by their first names by those who aren’t really close to them. Most foreigners usually don’t know that when they come and some never learn it even after living for years here, but following that one simple rule actually does wonders.” The waitress stated and suddenly her eyes perked up when she saw a nearby coffee shop.” Mind if we pass by to take some coffee… I’ve been doing a long shift…” RE: Mundane lessons(Invite Only) - TheSauron - 12-28-2015 - Uhm, yeah, sure, no problem. - Flora followed Myako to the coffee shop, at the same time thinking over what she just learned. She was itching to move to a certain matter she was mostly concerned with, but she felt that wouldn't be too nice thing to do and decided to ask about something related to the subject at hand. - Hm... I know that the question may sound silly, but... I don't really introduce myself with my family name or first name, as you probably know. Could that possibly upset anyone? - Flora opnened the door of the shop and let Myako in first. RE: Mundane lessons(Invite Only) - rivaan - 12-30-2015 “Well… that could maybe upset some people, but the most won’t really care as long as you address them properly. Follow the basic rule I told you about, addressing people using their family names, Flora-san, and you shouldn’t really have too much problems.” Myako said with a smile.” Thank you.” She also added when Flora opened the door and let her in first. With a smile on her face, Myako quickly went to order herself a coffee and about a minute late returned with a big cup of hot coffee. She took a sip from it and smiled as the sensation of having drank the warm coffee spread.” Gosh… I love coffee so much… won’t you order anything? Coffee here is really good!” She mumbled with pleased expression. “So yeah… manners here in Kusari are a fickle thing…” The waitress said in the end.” I’ve seen people who aren’t pleased no matter how polite you are… You should be careful of those types, many just like to screw with you as much as they want.” RE: Mundane lessons(Invite Only) - TheSauron - 12-30-2015 - I'm not really a coffee person. I prefer tea. Made by myself. - she listened to Myako. - Hm... I suppose screwing with them as well won't help much... It already brings a certain KNF officer to my mind. - she smiled a little and thought for a moment. - It so far seems to be easier than I expected. Thought there would be many complicated rules and things to it... - she fell silent and looked through the window at the crowd outside. She still seemed somewhat astonished by, and anxious about, the size of it. RE: Mundane lessons(Invite Only) - rivaan - 01-02-2016 “Well, everyone has their own tastes, but this place has tea too if you so decide.” Myako replied with a smile and took another sip from her coffee. “Ahh yeah.. KNF… those guys…” Myako nodded with a smirk.” Some pretty annoying guys in there… I personally had to keep myself from fighting with some of them due their irritating personality… the arrogance of some of their members deserved to be… ahm…” “Well that’s the very basic manners that are taught to a child, no mal intentions meant.” She said with apologetic voice.” But complete course of manners takes a lot and lot of time to master, so it will take us some time to teach you everything. The basics will give you a lot of room to maneuver for starters at least.” She smiled, waiting to see if Flora will order tea. “Well if you want, we can take a walk through the park, at this time it should be calm enough and no one should really bother us.” Myako said, with a sly smile.” And if someone does, we can always deal with them hehehe.” RE: Mundane lessons(Invite Only) - TheSauron - 01-03-2016 Flora gave the matter a little bit of additional thought and decided to order a cup of tea, takeaway. She bothered the cashier for some time, changing her mind almost a dozen of times before settling down on something. - A walk in the park... Yes, that'd be a good idea. - Flora replied after receiving her drink. She then smiled. - I doubt anyone would even dare to bother us anyway. - she took a sip of her tea. She narrowed her eyes a little, carefully evaluating the taste. - I've drank worse. Shall we? - she nodded towards the exit. |
