Allo, Lads, Jimmy 'ere.
Looks like I might have a job for you, free pilots. In a past few days I learned some rather unsettling news and I would like to confirm or dissmis them. But since I'm just one guy, I can't be everywhere, right? And that's where you come in, guys. I offer reward for each spotted and reported nomad ship. Doesn't matter where or when. Or, to be perfectly clear, this offer is only for human systems. Don't go poking yer noses to the nomad controled Omicrons, you hear? No money from that, just a fast and painfull death.

So how does it work?
Simple. If you spot a nomad, get a timestamped guncam pic, make sure it provides me with it's location, report it here and you got the money.

Which ships are part of this offer?
Any nomad ships, spotted in non-nomad system.

What are the rewards?
8 million credits for each uniqe nomad ship in one system. Any subsequent reports on the same ship in the same system will be rewarded only by 5 million and there has to be at least one hour between the spottings. However if you see the same ship in two different systems, that's 4 million each time. The one hour between spottings applies to that, too.

4 million credits bonus for scan of the ship and it's armament.

Remember, this is not a bounty! You are not required nor advised to engage the ship! Just a timestamped guncam picture with it's location is enough.

OORP: Just to be sure, fellas, this can't be open by anyone who's ship does not have Freelancer or Zoner IFF. Hell if you don't have it, you won't even receive this.

...(short silence, as the man shaked his head slowly and put out his cigar)

"But, this sounds like a good excuse to go snoop around on the house systems, at least. I'll stay in touch, yeah? God speed."
(The video feed ends)

Recipient: Pvt. Jimmy O'Brian
Subject: Nomads

Message: Well Jim, it seems I have some information for you. Earlier today as I was making my way back to Barrier Gate, I ran into one of our "friends" in the California system near the Cortez jump gate. I was able to snap several guncam photos of the K'Hara vessels technical specs. Unfortunately, my curiosity was not appreciated, and the alien soon turned hostile.

I tried to make a run for it to Cortez, but that ship is damn fast and had no trouble chasing me down. The K'Hara ship was immediately joined by another ship, apparently piloted by an infectee. After a brief skirmish, my ship was severely damaged and became unresponsive. I activated my escape pod after laying down several mines to provide some space between myself and the squids, and set the autopilot for Curacao. Luckily, the squids must have not noticed my escape, probably being blinded by the massive fireball that was once my ship.

I managed to contact a passing trade ship, and after a bit of convincing (and a few thousand credits), he picked me up and delivered me to Barrier Gate.

I was really hoping you were exaggerating this whole Nomad threat thing, but it looks like you couldn't be closer to the truth. Below, is the file containing the photos of the information I was able to gather. Sadly, I was unable to get any info on the infectees ship, due to the damage that had already been inflicted on my ship. Hope this will help with your investigation.

Sgt.Jack Burton

'Ello, lad. I'm glad you took me offer seriously, but sadly I can't pay yer money fer that report. At least not yet. Ye see, in me first message, I clearly said I need to know where did ye encountered them. However in yer report, there's no clue to that and therefore it's useless to me. Since yer delivered the proof ye really saw them, I'm willing to pay you full reward of 12 milion credits, if ye'll be able to tell me where did you see them. I believe yer NavMap should've the info in the logs, but if it won't, yer word will be enough. This time.

And for ye other guys out there, please be more careful. I need that info, but I don't want ye get dusted or turned to bablin' idiots. If it'll continue like this I'll hafta consider cancelling this offer.

See ya all.

(The video feed now clearly shows the old man's figure smoking a brand new cigar. Michael's facial features are now crystal clear, revealing wrinkled skin, a morning shadow, very short hair and brown, sad eyes. A red light with the label "CARGO" is blinking behind his seat, which he is clearly ignoring.)

"Ahem. I'm afraid my manners towards you and your organization were less than spectacular, Mr. O'Brian; for that, I can only ask for forgiveness and give you some clarification. But, before the formalities: I don't know how many guts you and your boys have, but I don't think it would warrant calling you a "babbling idiot" if you panicked at the sight of a Nomad Cruiser-thing hanging around literally at point-blank range of your ship, would it?"

(Michael takes a long puff, followed by a short cough, looking away from the camera that was capturing his image. He paused for a brief moment, before making eye contact again.)

"Ugh, I did it again. I'm sorry, life hasn't been at all that easy these days. Allow me to actually introduce myself: I am Michael Christopher, Independent Freelancer. After quitting my job as a Xenotechnology Researcher a few years back, I started to hang around the Omicrons to study the Nomads more closely - on my own. My findings haven't been that great, mostly I just found "Voidrunners" taking potshots at my ship, until now.

(The man clicks some buttons, coming to show some of the guncam pictures taken during the encounter on the video feed.)

"Right, now that I'm not a babbling idiot, I think we'll get along. I'm afraid you'll need to take my word that these pictures were, in fact, taken in the Texas system. At the very least, you can recognize that it is a Libertonian system, with the far away nebulae's pattern and the trade lane in the first picture. I did not take a picture of my Navmap at the time, but I guarantee we were close to the Hudson Jump Gate."

(He turns around with his chair and pushes a lever. The video feed shakes slightly and some quality is lost. The ship seems to be moving. Michael temporarily puts away his cigar.)

"And that's that. If you need me, talk while I'm still around. I'll try to stay in touch."

'Ello, lad. Noone is callin' ya blaberin' idiot, and I'm sorry it sounded like it. I said it just so even the... simplier ones out there understood just how dangerous nomads are. So again, sorry it sounded like it was meant for ya.

Back to the business then. ya'd be glad to hear, that I went to Texas, and thanks to the additional info ye provided, I was able to confirm that that's truly Texas where ya got those guncam pictures. Ye money are on the way.
