Take care. A few days off can work like a charm.

RE: Sombra notice - Sombs - 01-07-2017

To be frank, it's less about the inRP things, as I think that's fairly easy to deal with. Like, I don't even mind having Auxesia and the Lane Hackers antagonising me. Or half of the world, given that I literally can't leave O-49 without violating someone's laws. That's actually not the problem, as that's exactly why I enjoy logging the Apahanta every now and then and then fly around off-plane or cloaked, as I have no other way to get from A to B without instantly getting fined/FR5'd/attacked/escorted out of the system. It gives me actually a little kick that I wouldn't want to miss every now and then.

What actually bugs me is that, whenever I log the Apahanta, it magically attracts certain people to move towards me. I first found that funny, as definitely is easy to watch who is chasing me. But that's a sad standard now. To give examples, yesterday it was you, watching me when I was in NL. I noticed that you were appearing in NL just a few moments later. I absolutely don't mind it to have random encounters. Happens every now and then. But in this particular situation, I was in New London, and while I was moving to Leeds, Erato asked me via Skype to come to Conn and help him transfer something. So I went to Trafalgar, docked, conned, just to have you like not even a minute later coming to conn, writing "[05.01.2017 21:02:55] Sapphire.Raven: stop avoiding ingame interactions". From the person that was mad at BHG| for tracking A/) down via playerlist. We remember that discussion from a few months ago.

Then later, after calming down, I relogged and moved to Leeds, Erato joined me a bit later and just the two of us were heading to Baffin, and I saw how Vasko was pretty straight aiming for us, and later stayed with us. I don't mind that, as I have rare interactions with him and Valdez is simply a very funny character.

Then today, when Foxglove was on a birthday party to give a girl a 3D-printed horsecock, and I'm still waiting for the reaction video, I decided to log the Apahanta again, as I actually wanted to move it away from O-49, since I can't do anything there, except shooting Mollys. So I went to NL again, flying off-plane, not using any trade lanes, cloaked when daring a bit more. I noticed BAF was logging, which is honestly always a promising thing, as I absolutely adore logging my indie BAF/BPA with them or my indie Gaian against them - it's just always fun and fair, which is pretty much something that is defning Bretonia, from my experience. Moved to Manchester, and yes, here I did the mistake to use the gate rather than flying back to Edinburgh to fly to Newcastle -> Manchester, and in Manchester I used the gate to Cortez, as I first didn't want to go to Magellan but rather would have used the Cortez-California JH and then the Ontario JH and etc. In Manchester I noticed the BAF group was following me, which was a welcome change. However, again the use of the player list. So I let them do that, cruising minutes and minutes to reach the gate to Cortez, not using the JH to Magellan as Erzie was there with LH and I had no interest in popping up there, given that Ezrael knows about Mactan being in Magellan and LH wanting to pin down his sexy butt.

So, yeah, even in Cortez, BAF was searching for me, just as they are allowed to, as Cortez is protected by Liberty, Bretonia, Hellfire and Crayter, while OSC is sitting in the middle and still having problems with Corsair artifact traders, which I adore. Anyway, so knowing BAF was searching for me, I headed to Magellan, thinking the route over Vespucci would be a good idea, as nobody goes there. Moved there, off-plane, not cloaked all the time as I had to be careful with the batteries. The entire time, though, nothing was on the Battleship Radar, what makes me wonder how people know I was in Vespucci. Moved to Kansas, noticed Vasko was again following me from Magellan to Vespucci and then to Kansas, and I also noticed you were switching from SR in NL to Eido in Inverness, heading straight for Vespucci, but losing interest later when I was arriving in Pennsylvania.

From there, I had my privacy, actually, as most people were heading to NL for the nice GRN/BAF battle where people have shown a really good performance again today. Like, I think everyone was happy after that battle, and after taking a look into the Kudos thread, I feel that is the case.

Really, that was very cool to watch.

Anyway, the point is the following: I have sadly lost the motivation to log this character, which is both a result of fair inRP consequences I gladly accept, to 90%, but mostly the fact that whenever I log the Apahanta, people are magically attracted to it. I really don't know what it is. I mean, taking a look who the people are, I think I should feel like that's a good thing to have people logging for me with the intention of an RP encounter, while other people get shadowlogged by bounty hunting people just to take them out. But honestly, it does not feel good. I'm missing the people that log without tracking down people using the player list. Like, is "reactive logging" really the only thing the veterans do? Are there really only that few people out there that log "randomly" and just see what might happens? It's really a feeling of tiredness to log and notice how an empty system is suddenly filled with "reacting" people that have the chance either to pew someone or at least catch that character in flagranti. Given the situation of my char, that is literally everywhere, beginning with people chasing me from the independent worlds to find me adjusting the SRP's reputation sheet in a desolate system at a junker base off the usual routes while trying to give it a rather stupid inRP explanation about big ships giving big signals - while cloaked - over to paranoid Core pilots that just happen to know where a certain ship is moving for a few minutes over to what happened yesterday and today.

What I'm complaining about isn't the inRP things that happen, as all that can somehow be regulated, but I'm really, really, really tired of those inRP things only happening because people seem so desperate about them to happen. That's only when I log the Apahanta. I mean, I'm sure I'm overreacting right now. And I don't mind the use of the player list. However, it's my point of view to use them to find the region where the people are, and not to find people I destinate to be interacted with. Why would I? I'm playing and enjoying the hell out of Discovery for more than nine months consecutive now. I have a nice repertoire on things I accomplished in that time. I see my progress, inRP, RP-skill, PvP-skill and language-wise. Nine months ago, I never had written a story-ish sized text. Now I'm writing concepts for factions, prepare SRPs/SRP changes, do Skype-RP like every damn day and all that. However, that's a bit stressing out, and I must admit, getting surprised by certain things isn't helpful either. So I think I just need to take a few days of break, as I think it will help me to not burn out or even lose interest in Discovery.

And I guess I'll need a few people to maybe be less blatant, as this entire thing isn't just a flaw in my opinion, but something that can be solved and improved.

If you're still reading, then let me tell you more about Foxglove's horsecock, because that's a funny story and you seem not to be bored enough to stop reading. So Erato told me he and his friends wanted to present a girl a 3D-printed horsecock for birthday. Like, Erato can send you the link of that thing, because that's a really funny birthday present idea.

Actually there isn't much about that story. Like, that was probably all about it. I was eating bread with cheddar and cheese-mantled salami today, a few wine-grapes.

To be honest, yeah, I did track you down both times via the player list. I don't log just because someone else did, but when I'm ingame I monitor the player list a lot to find someone fun to interact with. And even then a lot of my time is still just flying from A to B because a lot of times there's nobody where I parked the ship. You'd be surprised how much of the time I have nobody to even say hello to when flying. And best part is when I start flying to somewhere 5-6 systems ahead and they disappear when I'm almost there. Not having anyone to interact with can be just as annoying as having people track you down via the player list.
