BALANCE
- Changed: Balance Changes Summary - Detailed 5.1 balance changes
- Changed: Cruise speed of all non-transport ships increased by 150 m/s. Note: Frigates use Gunboat engines, meaning they also cruise 150 m/s faster.
- Changed: The Dragon Battleship is now a Dragon Battlecruiser. Unlike most Battlecruisers it has two Battlecruiser Heavy Turret slots and two front sections. Geometry slightly adjusted to allow the docking bay to properly fit fighters and freighters.
- Changed: The Asteroid Miner has been reworked and is now capable of equipping Cruiser- and Battlecruiser-grade weaponry. It has been upscaled, no longer has a shield, and has several engine components that can be damaged and destroyed. Cargo space increased from 2,750 to 10,000. The Asteroid Miner cannot use tradelanes and cruises at 150 m/s. Despite its large amount of cargo space, the Asteroid Miner will continue to be useable for IDs with cargo restrictions that could previously use it.

ECONOMY
- Added: Vodka, Rum, Whiskey restored.

- Added: Nagel-Oster Crystals commodity, purchased by Ames Research Station. Hidden mineable, found in remote locations.
- Added: Propaganda producer added to revolutionary and House intel HQs. No consumers defined, not intended for trading.
- Added: Separated EFL Lane/Gate Parts and Ageira Lane/Gate Parts. Aimed to provide one buypoint in each system with a relevant lane/gate, choosing most 'secure' local station available.
- Changed: Significant update to the pricing calculation for 'resellers' (places that sell a commodity for more than its base value) that should create a much wider variety of viable routes.
- Changed: Hull Panel reseller added to Aralsk Research Station.

FLHOOK
- Added: New flhook features:
Buy/Sell prices - Bases are now capable of selling and purchasing items at different prices. POBs also have this implemented, with /shop commands letting you take full advantage of this. Do note that this feature is only fully supported in multiplayer. In singleplayer the 'sell' price is purely visual.
Blindfire toggle - You can now toggle your crosshair snapping onto reticles. Mostly useful for caps 'blindfiring' their guns. The desync associated with blindfiring has also been *severely* reduced. Fire away, but aim first!
Friendly Fire prevention - Grouped player ships no longer produce a reticle that your crosshair can snap onto.
- Changed: Enhanced POB experience - POBs now behave a lot closer to an NPC base. They will do the following:
- Show their affiliation on mouseover.
- Produce a natural undock animation.
- Will shoot and be shot by enemy NPCs
- If neutral, they will turn hostile if an allied NPC is hostile to the player.
- POB hostility mentioned above will only extend to the 'main body' of the base, the defense platforms continue to only ever turn hostile during vulnerability period.
- POBs Infocards, accessible by F9 keybind or the Info button in top right corner, now lists the base affiliation, base description set by the administrators, vulnerability window as well as stock and prices of administrator-selected commodities. Marketing!
- Added: Player Info. Player information, originally intended for character backstory summaries that used to be accessible only by /showinfo command, now displays on the F9 infoscreen. It now also allows for limited text formatting(experimental).
- Changed: Reworked infocards - Plenty of baked-in infocards have been reworked. More notable changes include:
- Station/Planet infocards no longer produce incredibly dull and long list of sold equipment
- Equipment infocards heavily reworked to include a very wide variety of stats such as efficiency, dps, ammo limits and so on; As well as fixing problems with incorrect data being presented, such as lack of information about multiple gun barrels, shield damage being misinterpreted, and so on.
- Added: Launcher ammo stacking:
- Selected ammo based weapons will now allow you to stock more ammo. Ammo stacking is telegraphed through the equipment stats.
Pre-5.0 also had this feature but available exclusively through autobuy, as well as not communicating which weapons could benefit. 5.0 culled it completely due to lack of transparency.
- Changed: Mines/Missile changes:
- Both Mines and Missiles can now have Arming Time property. Arming Time causes the munition to simply vanish if it collides with a valid target before a specific time elapses.
- Self-detonating mines: Selected mines are now self-detonating at the end of their lifetime.
- Added: System Wall:
- All systems now have an invisible wall at 200k away from the system center. Coming in contact with the wall disables your engines and stops you completely.
- Fixed: Group Location Fix:
- Game will now render location of all group members on the minimap, instead of a single one.
- Fixed: Waypoint bugfix:
- While flying through a multi-system waypoint path, passing through coordinates of a waypoint in a different system will no longer clear that waypoint.
- Fixed: Multi-Engine kill:
- Not used in 5.1, but engine kill now affects all engines, instead of just the first one found. Might allow for multi-engine balance decisions in the future.

Yes, it only stops you when moving in any direction away from the system center. It's not a sticky fly-trap :]

RE: 5.1 "Aftershock" - Nodoka Hanamura - 06-01-2024

Who made the Claymore, and how do I show my appreciation? I finally forgive you guys for turning the Spatial into a flying dorito.

Also, really pretty work from Nyx and the system devs on Omega-58's pulsar. Exceptionally pretty, reminds me of FSD Boosting off those kinds of stars back in my Elite days.

RE: 5.1 "Aftershock" - Darkseid667 - 06-01-2024

Looks great, but maintaining POBs is now much more expensive with new prices for Basic Alloy and Water etc.. Has the daily demand been reduced to compensate for that?

PS: I see that the refined commodities have increased prices, too, so that the profit should be higher nonetheless, but for all other bases it seems harder.

RE: 5.1 "Aftershock" - LuckyOne - 06-01-2024

Congrats to the team for what seems a quite successful release so far! Haven't had a single crash in an hour, which seems really promising! Smile
