Problematic scenario - Yngen - 04-15-2007 Pirates A and B demand pay off or they will open fire. Those two pilots are in a fighter and a Gunboat. Lawful pilot C refuses to pay and fights to the death. Pirate allied ships D and E (one of which is in a Cruiser,) who have said nothing during the whole extortion/negotiation, are chat grouped with the pirates and attack the lawful pilot with the extortionists. Does this constitute a violation of the Piracy ship limitation rule? In other words, if you are helping a pirate do the deed, are you not pirating along with him? Problematic scenario - Qunitinius~Verginix - 04-15-2007 This has been under debat for a while and has not been brought up recently. I am under teh Impression that if a GB or lower makes the piracy attepmt the Cruiser or BS can assist them. THough I am not sure of this. Verginix OUt Problematic scenario - Yngen - 04-15-2007 That sounds like a fairly easy way to get around the rule. Just don't let the Cruiser or BS pilot do any talking and hes not technically doing the pirating... Problematic scenario - Koolmo - 04-15-2007 Aye, thats BS, there is no way a larger ship should be able to assist under any circumstance. Problematic scenario - Qunitinius~Verginix - 04-15-2007 It does seam really cheep, but I was sure thats what was allowed. Fighters had to initiate Hostilities or something. I dunno, I think we need an admin to clear this up. Verginix Out Problematic scenario - BestFlyerHere - 04-15-2007 Now is this lawful ship a trader or a fighter? Because if it's a fighter, I would classify it as taxing, and not piracy. Does seem kinda unfair tho. Problematic scenario - Yngen - 04-15-2007 I believe in order to tax someone you have to own the system in which the taxing occurs, but I could be wrong. Problematic scenario - Lt.Cmdr.Olsav - 04-15-2007 Not wrong, i think it sohuld be allowed, for if a fighter pirates a train and then gets hassled (as in the train starts beating him), he should be able to call in backup. Also, if the Capship shuts up and stands behind the fighter or GB pirating then there should be no problem, just a show of force. Problematic scenario - Nadir - 04-15-2007 Suggest thinking of the spirit of the rules, not the letter. It's to give both trader and pirate an even chance of either escaping or... not (no point in pirates destroying their victims: no cash). Problematic scenario - Doom - 04-16-2007 well..that scenario i had yesterday... i was flying miner and was escorted by fighter...two GBs showed up and asked 5 mill from each of us...we denied and defended our self for short time period..then we ran..they followed soon, three more pirates joined them...one in fighter and two cruisers.. so now we have 2GBs, 2 cruisers and 1 fighter on our tail....i don't call that pirating...and asking 5 mill from each of us ,and we both were below rank 60, is at least funny...at the end my trader was killed by cruiser (gunboats weren't in the same system when it happened) next time when my ships go trough kusari systems i will use battleship escort...that is only solution i see...or maybe i should send my GB char there and kill them one by one... |
