Okay, here's the thing... read me won't help you much...
Alot of pilots here don't neccesarily go for the best armor or best output... it's about reliability and taste in steering. Like Quin said... fly them, then decide...:sleep:

I'll sudgest one thing: Start your own freelancer server just for you and add 2 billions to your account and start buying ships to see who is the best what load up do you want for him, what faction do you want to be and etc.

there are waaaay too many factors to consider in choosing the best fighter.
depends on what your going to be doing really.
a ship that is good against capships isn't going to be as good against lightfighters and a lightfighter isn't going to be good against a capship
Igiss did a good job of keeping Discovery balanced, so there is no such thing as a best fighter.
