Faction Annoucement: Blue Lotus Syndicate - Praetyre - 10-01-2007 The Blue Lotus Syndicate Tag: [BLS]- Description: The Blue Lotus Syndicate is the well organized, ruthless and merciless smuggling ring headed by Outcast Don and chief smuggler Roberto Rastapopoulous. The organization represents nearly all of Outcast Cardamine trade in Kusari space, and is a sizable stakeholder in other areas of Sirius. The leadership of the Syndicate is kept secret from all but high ranking members, with the leader normally referred to as The Grand Master and appearing as merely a shadowy, voice disguised entity on comms, as Rastapopoulous is also a respected shipping magnate and famed film producer, who has even throughout his life maintained personal friendships with numerous heads of state. The Syndicate, however, has angered the GMG because of the smuggling it conducts in its territory, and thus relations with the GMG are strained. The organizations goals are simple; The acquisition of money, the total domination of cardamine markets, and the enslavement of House citizens for purposes of blackmailing them into granting recognition to a dominant Hispanian state. Seems like you got a well thought out clan there, but I would change the name, because to me it sounds quite Kusarian (unless thats the point). I love the ranking system you have going too, especially the initiate rank "Hoodlum"...:). I hope to see lots of your tagged smugglers running about Sirius in the near future! Faction Annoucement: Blue Lotus Syndicate - Praetyre - 10-01-2007 Interestingly, I was originally planning to create a Hogosha faction named Kokuryu before coming up with the Blue Lotus Syndicate. As you'll notice, the description says that the BLS runs the majority of Outcast cardamine shipping in Kusari, hence the name. It's a sector wide faction with a strong base in one area, much like the Sirius Federation. The name itself is derived from a Herge comic called Tintin and the Blue Lotus. It is the second part in a saga where the hero, Tintin, tracks down the leader of a cigar and drug smuggling ring, who is revealed near the very end of the Blue Lotus as Tintin's supposed friend, film producer and Greek shipping magnate Roberto Rastapopolous, who seems to be unknown in identity to all but his direct underlings. The latter part is mostly set in the end of the gangs business trail, in the opium dens of Japan. Kusari is known to have a major terrorist organization addicted to Outcast cardamine and even the anti drug Blood Dragons have made alliances with both the GC and Outcasts. So Kusari makes sense as a base of operations in terms of inspiration, and in terms of addict numbers. I look forward to RPing with you too. Hope a few BLS Dromedaries can get into a few wild chases involving a few Titans and a few lawfuls. At least. Faction Annoucement: Blue Lotus Syndicate - Mr_3ppozz - 10-01-2007 Sounds great, unfortunatly outcasts:Pbut then again more targets for the BSG:) Have fun and good luck... Small tip: Uses empty lines between sections of text:) Faction Annoucement: Blue Lotus Syndicate - Praetyre - 10-01-2007 Thanks for the advice. It's rather ironic someone with drug symbolism in his avatar and sig isn't the one starting what I think is Disco's 1st smuggler's faction. My faction concept was partially taken from an enormously sucessful Star Wars: Galaxies clan called the Independent Smugglers Ring and because apparently smuggling is going to get lucrative in the next version. Also, making it around the time of escalation of Corsair/Rheinland hostility provides interesting opportunities to use and assist Outcast allied unlawfuls in Rheinland and play the two enemies against each other. By the way, the actual reason I made this an Outcast clan is because I thought they were a bit light in terms of active factions (though to an extent I later found out I was wrong on this) and because a drug smuggling ring makes the most sense as an Outcast one. Faction Annoucement: Blue Lotus Syndicate - Mr_3ppozz - 10-01-2007 That is true, if you look at the link in my sig, the one to the Luxury Liner Greenleaf story, you will find a good smuggling oppertunity without any outcasts involved:)I honestly dont know who or what is main distributer of the Synth Pot, but i know Im the the only one trafficing GALEM:) Have fun with this faction, sounds like something that would be able to stand... as long as the Smuggling does prove profitable in the new version Faction Annoucement: Blue Lotus Syndicate - Equinox - 10-01-2007 Great more damn druged up Outcasts.:P And factions, no one gets the message we have to many factions. Its well thought out though so good luck with it. Faction Annoucement: Blue Lotus Syndicate - Fellow Hoodlum - 10-01-2007 Flying Outcast tag and ID, and roleplaying as them, will have you having to look a little harder at your diplomacies. Especially as some of those mentioned as neutral will have you KoS from the start. The GC are the cardamine dealers in Kusari currently, and the GMG just hate you anyway, along with the police, military, IMG, Order and anyone from the Corsair alliance. Hoodlum Faction Annoucement: Blue Lotus Syndicate - Drake - 10-01-2007 ' Wrote:Great more damn druged up Outcasts.:P To many factions that seem to exist for no reason but PvP, this is a welcome change. I've thought about a smuggling faction ever since I heard that smuggling will actually be worthwhile in the next mod version. The problem is, a smuggler announcing to everyone that they're a smuggler is bad. Every lawful around will be able to watch the player list for anyone with a [BLS] tag and swoop down upon them as soon as they enter lawful space. It's different with other unlawful/pirate factions... When they enter enemy space, it's usually for the sole purpose of conflict. A smuggler needs to avoid conflict. Faction Annoucement: Blue Lotus Syndicate - Dab - 10-01-2007 Two things; First your allied list. I have to ask this because I see almost every new faction slap a bunch of factions on their allied list and assume people to do the same for them. So, did you ask those three factions ahead of time, or just slap them on there? If you haven't asked yet, I suggest moving them to Friendly status, then PMing the leaders of those factions about an alliance. Some people get very mad because people slap them on their allied list without asking first, and it happens alot. If you already did ask0, then ignore me. Second; Do you see Omicron Alpha as part of the area your guarding? Because you said all neutrals with be warned to leave and then fired on (if your going to do that, why not put them on unfriendly, and have neutral being people allowed, but not helped? Whats the point of a neutral list if you shoot them after demanding they leave the area?) I ask if you see it that way, because technically if you fire on neutrals with your 4-warnings thing, you would be encroaching the 101st's ZoI. They have the Guard system, and by ZoI, they have the leadership in the defense of Alpha from hostiles. You should probably refer to their policies when operating in Alpha, as 101st doesn't warn neutrals out of the system. |
