Reputation tweaks - Drake - 12-21-2007

So, the Admins are often changing around people's reputations when they break the rules, setting certain factions to full-red, but would it be possible to request a rep tweak? Only making factions red, mind you, not white or green. This would be quite helpful for people who're supposed to have many enemies, but can't manage to get them all red at the same time.

And I don't suppose there's a way to 'fix' a faction rep so that it doesn't change, is there?

I would love that....

in my RM character there is simply no way to make GMG red to me while I'm red to Corsairs and Outcasts.

Drake, there are over five and a half THOUSAND player files here. Sorry man, but if you think we have little
else to do, but sit and edit people's reputations, because they find it a pain to keep on top of ...
Then you have another thing coming.
Those that get a change, find its not for their benefit, its for everyone elses.

That...would be great...
See, the QCO's great list of enemies is at war with itself...so, If I'm hostile to KNF, I'm full green to Hackers and outcasts....(and BHG???)

Meh, I suppose so... Though reps aren't just 'a pain to keep on top of', they're actually impossible to keep on top of in many cases.

Hmm, maybe sell rep-change certificates for 5 or 10 mil each... Works just like the NCCs, except all it does is set any factions that should be hostile to red. I doubt it would be terribly overused.

How much time does it take of shooting out NPCs to get from green to red and vice versa? Not much. Plus, even if you are green to the faction that is supposed to be hostile do what you do: shoot them out for a while and don't dock on their bases, quite simple, eh?

As far as I know it's impossible to make rep in multiplayer fixed like it was in campaign at certain missions. Even putting last rep square doesn't make it fixed.

Reputation tweaks - mjolnir - 12-21-2007

@Treewyrm it is actually impossible in some cases just as Drake said....

can you tell me how to get hostile to GMG when I cannot enter their space, while keeping hostile with Corsairs and Outcast?

it's true that this case is not that big deal.... and it will add extra work to admins.... so I would propose that such a "certificate" would cost some 100-200 mil.... that way it won't be used so much.. while it would still be posible

Reputation tweaks - Unseelie - 12-21-2007

Using QCO for an example...and understanding that this isn't getting changed...
Shooting hackers will make the KNF like me, shooting mollies will make corsairs like me...Shooting mollies makes the Gaians like me...
its an endless cycle...oh well.

Don't forget to abort missions too! It is not to hard to do that!:D

What is "impossible" in acting as your character should? E.g. shooting enemies on sight, even if because of reputation modifiers they got green to you, not docking on enemy bases, etc. All those are player actions and require no intervention from admins. It's just a fact that reputation modifiers don't reflect faction relations, nor they can fully do so due to technical limitations, but does that makes your roleplay impossible to follow? I don't think so. Behave in your roleplay, the rest will apply.
