Event Rules: Hessians VS Corsairs - Cawdor - 05-26-2008 Right, Second approach. =) War Zones - Battlefields are Omega-47 and Omega-5 - Only one attack will be launched at each event. The Attacker changes each event - The factions are allowed to do two battles in an event if they find the time to do so - Only bordering Territories are allowed to be attack - A base, planet or jump-hole can only be taken after two successful attacks on it in a row - Ronneburg/Cardiz can only be attacked after you conquered all of Omega-47 [OPTIONAL] [color=#FF6600]Supply Routes - A convoy is started by a requesting faction. if two of three vessels make it, it is allowed to attack two times in a row. If the supplying faction looses, it has to defend two times in a row. - A convoy consists of three transport vessels and various fighters - A convoy must not cruise - The transport vessels can only be engaged after destroying 20% of the defending fighters (or if only 2 attackers are left) - The transport vessels have to stay with their escorts at all times. If the Escorts are engaged, transports should stay and open fire - A convoy starts at vogtland/gamma and ends at ronneburg/cardiz // the vessels should contain inRP commodities (Food, Hull-plates, Engine parts, pharmaceutics, Weapons etc. - please pirate that stuff) Hostage situation - If both sides agree, the winner of the upcoming fight is allowed to take the last pilot, who got blown up, as a hostage - A faction cant have more than one hostage at a time - The hostage is not allowed to use his char (in events?) until he is freed - A hostage must be brought to gamma/vogtland in the next event, using the supply-routes' rules. If the (only) transporter gets blown up and one attacker makes its way home alive, the hostage is freed. - If a faction fails to free a hostage, it can pay a ransom (up to 50mil) to get it from freeport 9 or Freistadt. //Still, If I were corsair, I'd demand food:P [/OPTIONAL] [color=#FF6600]End of the War - Both factions are allowed to negotiate a peace treaty at any time - If one faction takes all bases/planets/holes, the war is considered over - The winner gets: Tangir(dockable) / Casablanca, 400mil reparation (BS Fes has to be relocated ooHessian ZoI if Hessians win) - Omega 5 doesn't change. Only patrols stop shooting each other - The looser gets a base at his second front (Fes moves to the omicrons / Hessians build a base at Munich's western nebula or in Bremen) Further stuff to fight monotony: - There should be a junker depot at the middle of omega-5, so they get a hand on the scrap metal - The GMG should be allowed into 47 to mine the gas giant if hessians win (and btw supply the planet with oxygen) - IMG should get to 47 to mine some rocks. For starters, the trader - If a faction will send a support ship to the front line, they will spend tons of money on getting the strongest and most durable ships. I dunno about the rest of the faction leaders, but I don't have the cash to set up an uber transport just for the event, let alone several of them. Remember also that each transport that flies is one less fighter escorting it, might be problematic. As for the battle maps, it is a nice idea, but i think the number of battles per sector should varie pending the importance of the territory. 2 battles per regular territory. 3 battles on each side of a JH. 5 battles per base. As for having Cadiz and Ronnesburg as targets - If they aren't gonna be changed later on to the affiliation of the winning faction, no point in attacking them - looking at it in RP, you won't waste valuable resources to siege them rocks, deep inside the enemy's side of the battlefield, just so they keep using it afterwards. All in all, it's a nice initiative, but we need to see how to change it a bit, as the things offered here are cool on paper, but not so in game, where it costs money to implement some of them, and we lack the constant version updates for the others. If anyone thinks otherwise, feel free to share your point of view. It's also needed to throw the cruising rules off the window else you will basically never catch them once they get a bit far. Er, so you like the thought but you neither want to change a station nor fight for money? We negotiated these changes because 1. No one cares for 47 (Omega-5 is WAY more important to both factions) 2. We throw in money to motivate ppl since no one cares for 47 I mean what do the factions loose in 47? Casablanca got basically thrown at the hessians as the corsairs lost vs RM and we only go there to buy minis - yay. BS Fes is not a quite interesting place to visit and corsairs only need the system to get to 49 (We can put a clause into the "peace treaty" that corsairs are still allowed to maintain a route from 41 to 49 through 47 even though they could go from 5 via 52 and 50 :wacko:) So basically its just for the money, and thats the amount needed to pay the changes. We could scale it down to 500 if you like but ppl complained that 500 may not be enough in the last thread. Event Rules: Hessians VS Corsairs - McNeo - 05-27-2008 I agree with the concerns stated here... added to this, with the consequences for the losing team, I was already thinking of the "we must win at all costs syndrome". Of course, I would get a lot more air time simply practicing to hone my skills, and it would make this competition more than "just fun". I believe 800 mil is too much, perhaps somthing like 100mil... I reckon we have system modders that will do the changes for free anyway, as Lucend is up and coming in that field:). I dont believe that a change in base affiliation would be bad at all, but the losing team should reinforce another front with another base. So, say the Hessians lose Casablanca, they would get a base in Omega 15 or Omega 41 (north part) to counter that. This way, all the happens is a little shifting of Zones of Influence, not a massive shrink or expansion. Also, supply convoys are a bit dodgy. I reckon it would be better if all the fighters would have to be taken out before attacking the convoy, however, the transport cant move to its destination, and instead fights the invaders. The amount of attacks should be dictated by the amount of cargo delivered to the destination, not the amount of transports successfully arriving. And, two ship types should be allowed; the pirate transport and the pirate train. If one attack were to cost 3500 units of cargo, this would be balanced. Otherwise, we'd all be taking pirate transports into the fray for their extra firepower. GMG + southern Omega's = dodgy... The other two I agree with though. Junkers sittin' in the middle of a warzone harvesting what is lost. Thruster is double the speed of normal on a trader, and he could put a lot of distance between himself and the attackers before the 20% target was reached, which I have adressed somewhere above. Event Rules: Hessians VS Corsairs - mjolnir - 05-27-2008 Well after beeing in at least 5 convoy events I tend to agree that the convoy should just sit still and fire as well... IF some 20% of the defenders are destroyed.. or attackers are down to some 3 ships. The convoy can be attacked and can start to move using thruster. I also thing that the idea of losing a base here and getting a new one somewhere else is reasonable. That way it would not matter so much who will win... but it will do something anyway... just agree on what should be lost/won. I'm all for at least one pirate base of either side in Omega 15. There are even obvious locations for that.. the northern cloud for RH and the eastern for Corsairs. Suggestion: Corsairs loose: Fes will be relocated to omega-15 Hessians loose: New base in the western cloud of munich (to get some activity into that poor spot:P) Gonna change the convoy rules as mjolnir suggested and scale down the reparation to 400 mil. Since this ain't a battle of two clans but two faction-communities, there CANT be any issue with getting 400mil. >_> What do you think about what Ors said, about us needing more battles/territories? |
