ID And Cargo Limit - Admin Opinions.. - Zen_Mechanics - 03-31-2013

Okay, I had a little incident today in new-berlin, I was going to dock on a station with a zoner ID ( which I did ) but I had more than 3,600 cargo which effectivly violetes the rules; but the zoner ID was the only ID I could purchase at the time - until I can get the ID that I wanted to the faction I am recruiting to.
Since I cannot use Recruit ID ( because it states trading is not allowed ) I am wondering if there are exceptions to these types of situations.
I guess in both scenarios It somehow violetes the rules and I can't pick which one is worse, but perhaps it would be better to allow Recruit IDS to trade ( if it is heading towards a trading/mining faction).

Or you simply get into the faction you want to be in before starting to trade.

Recruit IDs are only meant for repping ships. They shouldn't be used for anything else. However, the Freelancer ID has pretty much the same use here.

Stick to a ID which allows flying transports with over 3.600 cargo. Simple as.

Would, but some folks have pre-conditions; like "bring us 2 loads of XXX"; show us you are serious - personaly I can't be bothered too much about this.

You could have asked someone who can obtain the ID you are looking for to fetch it for you. Afaik it is allowed to carry more than one ID of the same type for exactly those purposes.

Also, i see no reason to allow the recruit ID to trade, if you merely use it to fix your rep to buy another ID.

You don't need a 5k to deliver some stuff. If that's the issue, use a FL ID'ed transport with a max. of 3600 cargo, deliver the stuff, get into the faction, buy your shiny 5k thingy.

And that right there is your issue.

You consistently get on here and complain about the rules here, and continue to violate those rules, doing whatever you want - and then complain when you're called out on them.

It's not that tough. Don't get a ship that carries more cargo than is allowed by the ID in the first place. Learn how to role play as a trader instead of coming across as a whiny complainer. (You'll note that I find my tolerance for people violating the rules goes down in direct proportion to the justification and failure to follow the rules. Someone who innocently violates the rules because they didn't know gets a pass. Someone who violates the rules and says "I can't be bothered" gets chewed a new anal orifice - and deserves it - especially when all you had to do was get a Freelancer ID and then fly a 3.6K ship.)

This right here is the whining that Agmen was referencing. Instead of doing things the right way, you are complaining because you can't do them either of the two easiest. There's a reason for the rules that the community has in place. As Agmen said, you aren't going to be given an exception to the rules simply because you can't be bothered to follow them.

Letter of the rule actually does not allow for this, although if it's just to get another player on the right ID, folks are unlikely to be sanctioned for it. If you're moving around in space with more then 2 IDs in your hold that's another matter...

Anyway, original poster: It's not that hard to get an ID from one of the trader factions. You don't need to be a member of a player faction in order to carry the ID in most cases (the ID will say so if you do, but that't a rarity).
As for "trade enabled recruit IDs", what exactly is the problem with picking up a Universal, Bowex, Gateway, Samura, Kishiro, IDF, Republican, Interspace, ALG... I could go on but you get the point... ID? Sure, most of them have a rephack or two limiting where they can go, which the Zoner IDs do not have - but that is why the Zoner ID has a docking limitation.

There are no "can dock everywhere and is neutral to everything and may carry 5K cargo" IDs. If that is what you're asking us to make, you're basically asking for an universal powertrader ID, and that's just not going to happen.
