Independent Miners Guild Comm System (GuildComm) - Adam_Spire - 09-07-2009 *****GuildComm Activated***** TO: Guild/Defence master Nickolas Hargreaves FROM: Adam Spire, Defense division RE: Tau 23 engagement I wished to relay the events of the TAU 23 system last night. Gene Starwind asked me for assistance in the TAU 37. Events forced us to return to the TAU 23 system where we encountered a lone SOB VHF. Within a few moments we both engaged, hoping to combine out efforts in order to overwhelm the crafts better maneuverability. As always, I was having a difficult time keeping him in front of me while his focus was on Gene. I tried a few SNAC shots but no where near as close and switched to main guns and scored a few hits but nothing significant. About 2 minutes into the fight we were attacked by a small group of 4 escort Outcast HF (drones) that would not let up. Gene was handling the SOB pilot better than I was so I turned to engage the four escorts. After a while I dispatched them then turned to help Gene still fighting with the SOB pilot. I ran a quick scan and found the SOB had two mines left he had affectively used against me when I first tried to engage him. He wouldnt use them so liberally this time so I again tried to engage. A few moments later five veteran Outcast Escorts (drones) came out from the nearby base or just from hiding and engaged. I would have tried the same tactics but a second SOB VHF came and entered the engagement. Hoping the confusion would actually cause some form of cover, I tried to engage the second SOB fighter to the same tactical disadvantage I had with my bomber. I spend the next three to five minutes simply evading fire and trying to mine the area with my nukes in order to clear up some of the swarming fighters. With Gene and the first SOB fighter some 2k away, I tried to thruster towards them, hoping with the majority of the enemy behind me, the mined may score a hit. It simply didnt work and none of my mines seemed to land a hit. Typical. Taking a look at my targeting scanner the entire left side was red with ships. Apparently five to seven more veteran Outcast Escorts (drones) entered the fight. This was unbelievable! I couldnt risk bringing that kind of firepower down on Gene when he was taking care of the first SOB fighter and it seemed the second SOB was indeed getting confused by all the friendly fire. I opened a point to point comm. With Gene and asked him if he could make it to the Java station. Hopefully its guns would shake off some of these escorts and we could again focus on the SOB fighters. He didn't respond and I couldn't blame him. I pulled the stick back and shot right into the heart of the Outcast fighters only to find five more showed up, veteran class. Inwardly I was cursing as if the entire universe had decided now was a good time to open a can of pain on us. The maneuver worked and I was able to spiral within the hornets nest and that second SOB fighter and charge up my thrusters. Finally making it back to Java, the guns gave me time to recharge my shields and take out a few Outcast escorts but that second SOB fighter was still in the mess of it all. A short moment later I heard a general call over the Comms from a bounty hunter who opened fire on the other Outcast Escorts. Gene was still about 3-4 k away when I saw a huge explosion in space. The next moment I heard a "Wooh hoo, got him!" He had scored a SNAC hit against the edge of an asteroid the first SOB fighter seemed to hide behind, but he didn't count on the shockwave it could make. The first SOB fighter, after nearly thirty minutes of fighting was finally taken out. Gene stated rushing back to Java and that second SOB pilot started bugging out. Slowly, the remaining Escort fighters were ended. Only near the end did some IMG escort fighters (drones) show up. A bit late. I was so trilled to see those guns of the Bounty Hunter's ship stream through the blackness of space, I paid him what I could and thanked him. I stayed outside of Java, Gene was worse off than I was but managed to land his Pythos. I sat there for a moment under the shadow of Java and that Bounty hunter and just hovered there. Gene and I were beat. He had taken out a key component in the battle and I didnt have to eject for the first time. I'm sure the IMG engineers will be happy about that. I dont know what can be given to Gene but I recommend a promotion or something for what he pulled out there. He really turned the tide of that fight and never gave up. Also, here is a manifest report of my cargo hold after the battle. I really dont think that was all of them either. ![]() Adam Spire *****GuildComm Deactivated***** Independent Miners Guild Comm System (GuildComm) - The.Outlaw.Star - 09-08-2009 ***Incoming Transmission*** TO: Guild/Defence master Nickolas Hargreaves From: Gene.Starwind[D] RE: Tau 23 engagement Yes that was a hellish fight and iam glad to be alive. I had told the SOB " your in our space" and very meanly he said " you have alot to learn " of course i laughed at him and began to power my weapons. then i proceeded to engage him to help defend our turff and stand up for the IMG. Adam him self did a great job in keeping those drones off me and the other SOB, i may add. The fight was a long one (about 30min.) but i hung in there till the end and come out a winner! the SOB piolit was very good and a great challenge for me. i new time and skill was going to win the fight and not fire power so i stayed in there and hun on for dear life. Shortly after i killed the first SOB and Adam had killed all those pesky drones the second SOB was retreating back to his home on Malta. He didnt want me to come get him after what he saw his friend go threw (hehe). I would not have been so successful if i didnt have my back-up there and appreciate the help and support from Adam and the Bounty Hunter. Untill next time. ***End Transmission*** Independent Miners Guild Comm System (GuildComm) - stast - 09-09-2009 *****GuildComm Activated***** TO: Defence Division FROM: Bineest's Hold RE: Attempted hijacking/bombing My name is Inis Bineest, an affiliated member of the IMG and I record this here with a sence of urgency and indeed confusion. Today i was on was hauling a load of Tourists (not my normal occupation, but whatever pays the bills) in my Kujira class whale transport. I had outfitted my craft with basic living quarters for inter-house travel, nothing to luxurious, just enough to keep them happy on the run. It was a direct run frun from Planet New Tokyo to Planet Manhattan, or so i supposed. I have had my fair share in dealing with pirates and so have learned to take appropriate action depending on the nature of the threat. Prior to this incident i utilised the public long range police scanners on New Tokyo and scanned ahead for threats. With none appearing i proceeded to take off an head to Manhattan. All was fine until i reached Galileo where i was stopped by a Lane hacker known as "Burgers" in a Rogue Bomber. He was surrounded with spacecraft debris and a load of super conductors (2000 tons to be precise) presumable ejected from a destroyed hauler. He hailed me and demanded that i drop 1000 of the tourists on board and beam in the cargo around him immediately. I refused on the grounds that i would not surrender human lives and offered him any price he could ask that i might be able to pass unmolested. He did not accept this, and instead hacked into my craft's computer and beamed in a sperical device that he claimed was a bomb, of what nature i am not sure. He then ordered me to unload at the nearest port an come back to pick up his cargo! With the threat of an explosive on board i did so, Unloaded the frightened tourists at Colorado, and moved back duly to collect his cargo. During this time i alerted The LPI of my predicament. I returned to Galileo with no help from the LPI where i beamed in his cargo, as ordered, as well as some diamonds he had recently "acquired" (there was more debris floating about) Then travelled to New Tokyo, hailing the assistance of the Kusari navy and police as i went, however i was forced to obey the commands of the Lane Hacker who now had many of my ships operations under control. He had no yet made any demands for money however. With a Kusari police operative disguised as a mercenary following some distance behind me i went back to Galileo and again beamed in more of his prizes. I was then ordered to go to Planet Denver to unload. I did so, however under the instruction of the LPI i landed on a remote landing pad near the northern pole. My Crew was evacuated without incident and the bomb removed. The last report i heard from the Kusari operative was that he was engaging the Lane Hacker, however at that point we were evac'd and no further communications were made. I still await contact from the operative involved. Rest assured i will be travelling with an escort next time we are transporting passengers as this would have quickly resolved the issue before it began. I would also like to warn the IMG of this LH "Burgers" and his unpredicablity in his actions... At no point did he demand cridits, only my services as a hauler. Perhaps he was trying to frame us? I also thank the Kusari Police and LPI for their assistance in this episode... *****GuildComm Deactivated***** Independent Miners Guild Comm System (GuildComm) - Seth Karlo - 09-10-2009 [Incoming Transmission]

One in particular was "streetraser" as he went by, was stopped in Tau 23 as Rakino stopped him for carrying illegal cargo. The cargo pilot complied but was soon found jumping into tau 37. This wouldn't have been an issue if Rakino hadn't already asked him, rather kindly to not enter the systems and head back the way he came. Streetraser did not comply. In fact, when surrounded by myself, Rakino and Red 2 of the CR squad, he refused to leave. Most likely, he was waiting for Outcast reinforcements. We all gave him 30 + seconds to turn and leave, but he simply wouldn't. Once again, I presume he was waiting for outcast defense to pull him out of the fire. We all opened fire on him and he started running towards Falkland. We overwhelmend him and he became my first offical Kill of the IMG defense force. Not 100% proud of taking down an arrogant trader, but I lended my help back in Tau 23 when Rakino was jumped by some junkers and outcasts. End of report. ![]() Adam Spire ******GuildComm Deactivated******* Independent Miners Guild Comm System (GuildComm) - The.Outlaw.Star - 10-22-2009 ***Incoming Transmission*** TO: Guild Master and Friends FROM: Gene Starwind Defense division RE: My co-Piolits new Fighter *After Flipping 4 pages back to find This. After some time of chatter Gene Starwind joined up and he and I gave the Hacker ample polite reasons to find another port of harbor. I honestly believed the Hacker was a distraction as I was up by the mine fields guarding the mining efforts. Bottom like it sure seemed like it when that QCP Privateer started demanding Mining right Levies against the miners. I think a combination of slow thinking on my part and the out right unbelief that a Britionia would pirate us caught us off guard. He had taken out Miner.Lisa and another transport before I arrived and saw Gene, a Miner ship, and another openly attacking the QCP Privateer. We managed to drive off that Privateer and he did something I havent seen in a while. Using the nearby suns corona to nearly destroy his ship but managing to buy himself time and room to escape. Thought its also been a long time since Ive seen a Gunboat hobble away with not even any armor left to detect on sensors. Hours of mining work were wasted and a frustration that was felt by Gene and I along with the other miners. I have a proposal to make to the IMG council and hope they will consider it. In other factions there are systems and areas of space where restrictions are so declared that any unauthorized ship is subject to attack without declaration or warning. My proposal is to make locations of Tau 23 secure zones. Common sense tells us the only thing Outcasts mine are our miners and transports, not ore. Many Red IFFed ships are not in tau 23 for normal legal commerce and shipping, and any approaching Outcast class vessel to Java station and the mine fields are not asking for donations to feed the poor. Therefore, this is what I propose. ![]() The map here shows a 20k ring distance from Java station. A simple restriction in that area would be unreasonable as it cuts over the boundaries well out side what IMG typically frequents. So a more moderate area located in the Yellow shaded sectors depict a heavely monitored zone by which all ships are IDed, searched, and restricted or allowed depending on the content of their cargo. This is pretty much the SOP already so no surprises there. The Red area is where the attention should be placed. Any aforementioned enemy ship entering this region of space is to be fired upon, either to drive out or to be eliminated. I felt Miner.Lisas frustration after all that work to be ended in a few seconds. This is not an end all solution but more a better way to protect our miners, transports and the IMG in general. There are more things to consider, which is why I bring this into the open for further talks. Independent Miners Guild Comm System (GuildComm) - Jazz - 11-10-2009 *Note, official Release* I regret to inform you that despite numerous search and rescue missions over the recent months, we are still unable to find any trace of Inquisitor Whipperwill or his fighter after his ill-fated assignment so long ago. Command of the Candela is to be transfered to the Director of her sector. We will keep up our search but the odds are stacked against. It seems his luck may have finnaly run its course. If nothing is found withing another month memorial services will be held on Java station. *end* //: things are not looking good for me at the moment, assignments are up, grades are down, and life is an all-around.... well.. you get my point. ![]() Greetings all miners! As you all know, Syana Kyan has stepped down from her leadership position, and has turned in her resignation with the IMG. It appears as if the responsibilities of her position proved a bit too stressful at times, as she was under constant scrutiny from some IMG members and affiliates and no longer felt as if her duties and decisions were appreciated. Syana Kyan was a vital member of the IMG and was responsible for many of the IMGs daily activities, and the primary representative for the IMG and relationships abroad. Syana Kyan was not only the Director of the Research and Development Division, but she was also over-seeing the Mining Division, and the Trading Division and was the lead recruiting agent for quite some time. Needless to say, Syana Kyan will be greatly missed. But, we have procrastinated long enough. New leadership responsibilities and duties have been assigned. I hereby introduce myself as the new Director of the IMG Mining Division. My duties include, but are not limited to: Quote:Mining Director I look forward to responding to any and all inquiries within this division, and assisting all members where needed.
