Rheinland Taxation Feedback and Discussion - Malexa - 09-23-2009 Ladies and gentlemen, a new version is available. http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?ac...t=0#entry744011 The old furniture went out. The still shiny one stayed. Only Rheinland produced/sold goods are still in the list. Tax only will be levied when shipping out with Rheinland goods. Import is for free. Also changed the specific ammount to a "If trader has over 1000 cargo units, then the tax comes into play". The previous was preventing the taxation of roleplay cargo, as 1-100 Units of MOX to simulate fuel, 10 light arms for the crew and so on. Now it will be used with common sense, so that our pilots wont tax RP cargo. Not everything needs to be written down. I hope. Should be simple now. Everyone can think of what is a Passanger, a Basic good, industrial stuff or Military/hazardous equipment. Also this list can be used as what is allowed and what not (Contraband), and the classification of the shipped cargo. Scrap Metal and Toxic Waste is not really a basic good, more an industrial one, but wont be taxed. Toxic waste is also Haradous, but still listed under basic, since its tax free. Not everything needs to make sense. If you got a problem with toxic waste and scrap metal, not beeing listed realistic, I want to introduce the Rheinland firingsquad! *laughs* Rheinland Taxation Feedback and Discussion - Ayem - 09-23-2009 ' Wrote:In response to your list: Ship Hull Panels are also manufactured on Belfast Production Facility! Buy from the Mollies, get a quick guinness in you! Bretonian MOX and Rheinland MOX are separate commodities, which sell for different prices across Sirius. Blood Diamonds are not a nice commodity to carry! If you're holding them, why are you worrying about tax in Rheinland? You're a smuggler! Malexa, you raised the possibility of joint custody of O3 with the BAF. This is something I mentioned in the Bowex skype as a possible selling point for the whole tax system. If the Rheinland Military are taking down the OPG (and assorted other corsair/red hessians(though I've only seen one RH actually pirate in all my time on the Muldenkipper.. respect, "RHA"!)) then a valuable service to traders is provided. The more often pirates die to RM/BAF efforts in O3, the more they stick to the deeper Omegas and attack Cryer/Zoner shipments. The more money Zoners lose to Corsairs, the more likely they are to look longingly at the Houses for trade. Any change in player behaviour (disregarding a change in game mechanics) takes time, so don't expect the hordes to descend after one week. But after a month of a clean Omega3? Rheinland Taxation Feedback and Discussion - n00bl3t - 09-23-2009 Will you be stopping ZAS~ ships that are liberating slaves? Rheinland Taxation Feedback and Discussion - Quorg - 09-23-2009 I like the new one better, although in-RP any tax is likely to reduce the volume of trade. But again, OORP, the tax is quite reasonable. Rheinland Taxation Feedback and Discussion - Cyberanson - 09-23-2009 ' Wrote:Will you be stopping ZAS~ ships that are liberating slaves?ZAS tagged vessels carrying slaves and a small amount of RP items ONLY are free to pass. All other vessels carrying slaves are considered slavers and treated accordingly. (One exception though, but this is still in development.) Rheinland Taxation Feedback and Discussion - Wuselkobold - 09-23-2009 If i understand that right, most people here are concerned what might happen if a trader decides not to pay. Killing a trader full with cargo who hasn't commited any crimes is a thing the military shouldn't do. Never. Thats what pirates are for. What could be done however is to issue a 'warning': Shoot cago pods off Trains, one or two turrets from other transports to compensate. You also could demand a certain amount of the traders cargo if he doesn't want to pay instead. Just make sure to have a <strike>Rheinland Train</strike> Ragnar/Humpback nearby to pick it up. This would make you able to 'punish' people unwilling to pay without killing them (which would be pretty oorp) Rheinland Taxation Feedback and Discussion - Cyberanson - 09-23-2009 Have we said it too unclear? ANY TRADER WHO REFUSES TO PAY THE TAX IS ASKED TO LEAVE RHEINLAND OR TO TURN AROUND IF NEAR THE BORDER. Who told you this crap that we will kill the unwilling? If the unwilling refuse to follow our orders to leave, THEN we might use force. Rheinland Taxation Feedback and Discussion - Ceoran - 09-23-2009 ' Wrote:Ceoran, please read our proposal again (or at least one time at all) or wait for the updated version. We are at a point where we recognized that taxes on imports don't make sense at all. done. Well, I considered it something to reopen your borders to Liberty again, but with taxing the leaving traffic now that wouldn't make sense, yes. But I have to agree with others that it will most likely scare away some traders. Not sure if it will affect me, most likely I'll forward the information, that those Gaijins from Rheinland dare to 'steal' money from Kusari, to our friends along the Hogosha. Maybe the traders from Rheinland will have to finance the war against Bretonia then;) But on another note: If this passes through maybe other houses will follow, which will spread the traders more equal again. Oh and Montezuma: You should try Kusari these days, it's not New York, but it's also not as empty as you might think, though we sadly have an annoying amount of blockade-runners along the population. (Half the Rheinland corporate traders I've seen have possibly never been to Rheinland after buying their ID, but quite often in Bretonia and Kusari) Rheinland Taxation Feedback and Discussion - Wuselkobold - 09-23-2009 Woh, cool down. Telling a trader who refuses to leave, is a bit contraprodictive no? Since you only have taxes for goods leaving Rheinland. Would the trader be banned from Rheinland space then, or are there any other consequences? If not, many will just refuse to pay and go ahead. Thats what i ment. Rheinland Taxation Feedback and Discussion - Malexa - 09-23-2009 Regardint the ZAS, yes we apreciate their work. Also the point raised, what happens to RP cargo? RP cargo is not beeing taxed, under any circumstances. Hauling 2000 of x and telling its for your own use, will get you into trouble though. Regarding blown up traders, it was always like this, since day 1 in Rheinland. If you have problems with the Rheinland laws and think you can allow yourself a "NO", then you will get a boot into your behind, so you fly across the borders. Blowing up traders with a full hold can still happen, even before the taxation system was introduced. Just because you dont have an unlawfull ID, does not mean you can do what you like, or the lawfulls cant enforce the laws. Rheinland was since ever a tough house to be in, it was and will be its roleplay until Virus, Caylith, Gronath, DBoy, myself and all the other who were/are the top of the [RM], die simultanieously to a sandstorm on the Mount Everest. Maybe then Rheinland changes its stance so you can do whatever you like in there, without consequences. Also its not meant to never have the troublemakerssaying "NO". There are a lot of characters who actualy play this role and thend to upset the lawfulls or other people. But they have to think of the consequences in any way. And I think I can understand the "Me no english" or silent traders to tell us "no wai gtfo! (Haha silent traders saying this, at least they wont be silent anymore:P) What I cant understand are the valuable roleplay members of this cool community, starting to state a blanket "NO". As some already mentioned, Traders are needed for the roleplay so pirates and lawfulls.......... Wait what? Traders are needed for roleplay, so others can do it? Traders are also for the roleplay! Why are they so boring? Why do a lot of people hate to trade? Simply because you have a 45 min trip to somewhere, without saying a single word. Well except the "Good day to you <insert random Lawfull>" and after unloading the cargo, you say "Good bye <insert random Lawfull>. Just to fund your Fighter/bomber/GB/Cruiser/BS chars? This will give you an opportunity to get more involved into chatter and roleplay during your trips. We try to do our part, to provide a harmonious roleplay feeling, that you are actualy in space and not sitting at home. You are the guy entering a foreign house, passing various patrols and border stations. Beeing hailed and checked, getting some police or military conversations is part of it. What you indeed cant get in a trader, is the pvp part. But its still the roleplayserver if I recall right. So try it out. |
