Quote:Eh, if it's a Molly Gunboat, and you have a BMM ship, that's something that he'd definitely want to do. The Mollys aren't even like the Hessians where they respect Miners, they're just bloodthirsty to get (What they think of as) their system from the hands of the Bretonians. Punishing BMM for the atrocities that they pushed upon the Mollys is very deeply ingrained in their agenda.
i have laerned about mollys, an accept that. now that i know i run. however, my cargo has been lost to a hessian and an outcast too.... and they had bombers.

If we would watch this realisticly, I would propably put a gun to your neck, take everything and after you give me all waht you got splash your brains on the wall you were rammed to.

he next thing to do, if I got Rich I just clear out of the place and keep low profile.

You already have your damn rule (0.0) what elsu you want?

Get fricking escort than mining. Mine in groups. Find a way to win in situation not durning whines on forums. IN THE NAME OF GOD, PLAY THE GOD DAMN GAME.

And guess what, Escorts works ! Teh Black Sails has their transports escorted by few bombers all the time. Guess what, 3 gunboats would not be a big problem.

I wanna be pirated, everybody complaining about piracy, and i do some cardi runs per week, just for the fun and i never found one damn pirate.

Pirates are getting lazy these days, i remember the days that go trough Trade lanes wasn't an option...

When you stop focusing on making money, and start playing Discovery as it's meant to be played; using each activity as a means to initiate RP encounters, you will relish the opportunity to get pirated.

' Wrote:but that wasnt what was suggested. at the moment pirates can practically line up in a row and pirate a single merchant/miner ship as they please. i think after being pirated, the victim deserves some kind of break. i mean seriously, at some times there are many more pirates online than lawfuls... trading /mining is like: "go to jumphole "X" - pirate waiting, 2 million paid.... use jumphole "X"... pirate waiting on the other side, 2 million paid.... using tradlane "X1".... pirate in the middle, 2 million paid.... using tradelane "X2".... pirate, 2 million paid.... arriving at jumpgate "Y"... pirate waiting, 2 million paid.... using jumpgate "y"... pirate on the other side, 2 million paid... " and so on and so on.

What sort of routes are you going along? Personally, in the last few days, I've made many trade runs and only been pirated twice. Once in NY for 1.5m, and once in Kyushu - though the latter was poorly thought out and thus had no outcome (if you pirate someone right as they launch and there are (npc) cap ship patrols nearby, it's not unlikely that they would feel safe and not give in).

Get escorts. I know I had escorts when I was mining with a Daumann char. I'd rather pay 15 million/run my escort than paying 15 million/run a pirate.

Well having escort is plus point rather give money to escort than pirates, and its good for Rp also, by the way getting escort will not be that much headache.....BountyHunters can be used for escort...or civilians

I am trying to illustrate why I am frustrated by a concrete example, that happened to me a few minutes ago - about the 7th pirating of this style i encountered in 2 days.

After considering what you more experienced players wrote, I had to admitt that the main problem was me wanting to earn money to get a specific craft to play a role I had prepared a day bevore I want online. Good, I am accepting now, that I have to RP my way to this... so, I tried to RP reasonable with people pirating me, acting as a "miner" and as a newb... I am not adapt to the server rules and faction relations, so I have wiki in the background and try to look certain things up when being pirated. I also ask for time to do so when encountering certain things I know.

Description: I was getting a full cargo bay of beryllium to new berlin after having mined it in cambridge. I suck at mining, it took me more than half an hour to get it. well, thats me, I will get better.

then, on my way to New Berlin, I encountered 2 pirates, both with pirate transports. I stopped, trade lane was disrupted... first thing I received were a few shots that took down my shields.

Pirates: Halt! Drop Cargo!
Me: //RP ?
Pirates: what? we said to trop your cargo or be terminated
Me: //drop your cargo is not RP
... and so on, you can watch the pictures.

well, while talking to them they were repeatedly attacking me, damaging and nearly destroying me. (when i ran out of nanaobots and batteries the "are you crazy?" was written)

So, do I have the right to at least want some RP when being pirated? Or to at least negotiate with the pirates (I mean, in this case I would even have paid up to 20 million because at least I could have made some money with the cargo).

as soon as I find out how to post pics i will post the incident.

If they are lolpirates, you know, Refuses to RP-drop-all-cargo-I-am-Not-Xeno-Never-talk-10M-5sec-die
types, write a rules report for 0.0. If its just a string of RP pirates, No help for you...Just dont run that route.
Of course, you can smuggle, since they almost never get caught

There are not that many pirates. Stop exaggerating.

Instead of whining, do something about it.
