No really, i find it disturbing to create an under 18 aged pilot/captain.

But heck, everything is possible in 2000 years in the future. Who knows maybe the machines are so easily operable so that even 10 year olds can fly them

Well someone RP a clone with memory being transferred to new clone might be a adult but the clone might be 10 years old who knows could be possible

Does it really make or brake the game

as long as all have fun i say

And the real irony on the original thing was as far as i can remember was put in sarcasm meaning real life 10 year olds flying cap ships pew pew anything in site without proper RP or having a clue what to shoot and what not but they have been delt with quick quick it never was meant that RP 10 year old command the Liberty Navy i saw it happened when i just landed here trading some guys were nerved by big liberty cap ships

so one guy shouted in system chat 10 year olds are admirals in the liberty navy meaning the way he put it they dont know what they doing.

All the rest that followed is totally off base in this thread cant even think that this whole simple thing expanded so big by ones guys comment

i just want to rofl  when is see everything everyone is going on about here totally out of touch what really happened in game

That's kind of a weird situation though, regardless of setting or possibility in the Discoverse. At that point, are they 10 years old? I'd say they were actually the age of their memory as it's essentially a full body transplant. You wouldn't determine age from a transplanted heart, for instance, yeah?

Well, I think it'd help not to take his post too literally. The ten year old admiral thing is a little far gone, but the message he's trying to convey is no less correct because of it.

I start all of my characters at the lovely age of 28, and then they get older.

EDIT:

Except for two of my characters...

Oh, sure, but I thought it an interesting situation to ponder.

It's more amusing than it is interesting to me, the underage character deal.

I mean, 16-17 year olds getting caught up with the wrong crowds? Sure, maybe.

13 year rules commanding fleets? That pushes the barrier of my wilful suspense of disbelief, personally.

imho.

The actual thing was off, people said it to him and he improved it a lot and adapted. It changed from something unacceptable by the mass to something different that can only be judged by personal view, which doesn't mean much as a view of a player is not absolute. Just like my view of Gallia.

So, let it go. If you start questioning the logic of Discovery, you ll soon find yourself erasing the mod and playing the vanilla, which also had lots of weird moments.

Ophi.

This is why I wish you were my brother sometimes.

The thing is, 13 year old admirals don't fit here, in my opinion.

Now, a 13-15 year old pilot? Sure. If you can explain it in a way that fits with the Freelancer universe.

Rest of my few cents.

Pull my tail and tell me I am not a catgirl...please. Everyone can have whatever char he wants to..13-14 y old admiral, furry with tail and ****...who cares if its RP wise or not? I mean no one going to tell you "you can't have it" so yeah..Why you guys keep discussing it?
I've heard for chars like ghosts with mental powers and stuff...mind transfer...god, soon I would like to see Gandalf (throwing fireballs and casting spells) in freelancer fighting Balrog (super nomad)... 8-|

I meant the memory-transplant-age situation. The underage character thing is just...awkward. Though I imagine it could be funny in a corporate setting. Little John Cryer, captaining his liner because his uncle is the bossman, etc. How come it's always so serious though? Silly people.

I'uno. For a light RP server people sure to have their hangups. I mean, sure, I have serious characters... but yeah. xD.
