RE: Liberty Navy [LN] - rainth345 - 07-17-2014 (07-17-2014, 01:03 PM)Protégé Wrote: I would like to know why [LN] are whiteknighting over entire Liberty ready to gank 7v1 anybody who they don't like, especially newbies. You're military, you're not supposed to prevent crimes inside Liberty, for crying out loud, but fight Rheinland and Gallia (if the latter were active, I'd be so happy) and prevent internal dangers such as lolcasts with Ranseurs in NY or occasional Rogue Dessie raid. Hmm... let me ask you a question: If you were to find a ship, lawful or unlawful, disabling lanes and carrying Nomad-related cargo... would you give chase to said ship? Even apprehend said ship? I just want your honest opinion on the matter. It just so happens that Liberty is facing two wars right now, the enemy could be your neighbor. A ship, even if it's a Navy one or a Police, caught disabling lanes and carrying Nomad-related cargo would merit a very highly-suspicious behavior from the Navy. More-so if the said ship that was told to stop, didn't. RE: Liberty Navy [LN] - Teerin - 07-17-2014 (07-17-2014, 01:03 PM)Protégé Wrote: ready to gank 7v1PM me screen evidence of that, and it will be dealt with internally should such a problem have actually occurred. Quote:You're military, you're not supposed to prevent crimes inside Liberty, for crying out loud,That argument has been made uncountable times in the past. You're wrong however, as in real life the Navy and Coast Guard actually work with local law enforcement agencies to fight crime, even in times of war. As for Freelancer? Well in the vanilla game the Navy did a lot of internal patrols, and seriously, if you're caught with a load of Cardamine or Synth Weed, we're not going to ignore you because we're for the moment not fighting somewhere else. Common sense, man Quote:but fight Rheinland and Gallia (if the latter were active, I'd be so happy)The GRN| are actually fairly active (nearly twice as much as [RM]), but there's only so many fights we can coordinate between the factions. Quote:and prevent internal dangers such as lolcasts with Ranseurs in NY or occasional Rogue Dessie raid.See what Morse said. Quote:Also, blowing people up for disrupting a tradelane, or literally wasting someone's half an hour because they said a stupid joke about Outcasts. There was likely more reason for that, but again please do PM me proof of that and I'll sort it out. And as for wasting your time, they were roleplaying their characters' reaction to your in-roleplay joke. Finally, I do personally recommend the "sandwich" method of giving feedback. Get a bit frustrated? Make yourself a sandwich (or other really good food) and come back later. Incessant and/or needless complaining does no one any good Thank you for your support! - Teerin
EDIT: Ninja'd by Rainth while writing my reply! RE: Liberty Navy [LN] - Corile - 07-17-2014 Quote:Please, before you start accusing us of not doing our jobs in the correct manner, maybe you should learn exactly what our job is.If you don't have a valid counterargument, then don't post, because a cardboard shield of ad personam is not making you a good opponent for discussion in my eyes. Quote:caught disabling lanes and carrying Nomad-related cargoNot nice to make things up. At least if we're talking about the person I'm thinking about. Quote:PM me screen evidence of that, and it will be dealt with internally should such a problem have actually occurred.I don't keep my finger on PrtSc all the time. If your men aren't honest with you if you ask them about it, then I have nothing to do here. I honestly thought about recording every minute on Discovery, because rulesharking and 'asking for evidence' here is so bloody common, I don't even. Especially that if someone is indeed complaining about a ceratin event, then that event actually happened. Quote:You're wrong however, as in real life the Navy and Coast Guard actually work with local law enforcement agencies to fight crime, even in times of war.Never seen a soldier capturing a driver for speeding. Because I'd assume this is somewhat similar to disrupting the last ring in a lane "because reasons". Quote:Well in the vanilla game the Navy did a lot of internal patrols, and seriously, if you're caught with a load of Cardamine or Synth Weed, we're not going to ignore you because we're for the moment not fighting somewhere else.Of course not, but in vanilla the Navy didn't gank people 7v1 when they disrupted a lane, wasn't doing 30 minute bullshike investigations after someone grumbled something about Outcasts and didn't close a lane because of a gunboat (btw the funniest thing about it is that YOU DIDN'T EVEN ASK FOR A NAME) as far as I'm concerned. Quote:The GRN| are actually fairly active (nearly twice as much as [RM]), but there's only so many fights we can coordinate between the factions.Let me rephrase that: if they actually started attacking Liberty. Because for now they aren't at all. Quote:And as for wasting your time, they were roleplaying their characters' reaction to your in-roleplay joke.First of all, this wasn't my joke. Second of all... Code: [15.07.2014 20:30:12] KTA|KAS-Amaterasu: Toori: We could help Outcasts while we could... *mumbles* Mind telling me what "bullshike" is? Or do you like to go on holidays on yourself? I've had someone else evading the swear filter like that recently, and I'm not finding it funny. ~a not amused Narc RE: Liberty Navy [LN] - rainth345 - 07-17-2014 (07-17-2014, 06:50 PM)Protégé Wrote: Not nice to make things up. At least if we're talking about the person I'm thinking about. Yes, it seems we're not talking about the same person. But still, disabling lanes is a punishable offence. More so, if the offender tried to flee. The usual punishment for such crimes would be a fine but in this case, it just goes to show that Liberty is in a heightened state of alertness. Do not be surprised if you suddenly find yourself surrounded by 1232183190 Navy ships. We are at war with two Houses and there is justified reason for the tightened security. Do not take it too personal. Some of us are just roleplaying a bunch of highly agitated, exhausted, war-torn, battle-hardened, war-steeled veterans of the Liberty Navy. You can imagine the sleepless nights these characters have just by defending the house systems from pirates, Outcasts, Rogues, smugglers, Rogue Freelancers and all the assorted unlawfuls. Plus add the occasional Rheinland and Gallic raids... I'm not saying we can't handle it... but clearly just by looking at the list of enemies Liberty has... There is reason to be stressed out. RE: Liberty Navy [LN] - Pinko - 07-17-2014 (07-17-2014, 06:50 PM)Protégé Wrote: Never seen a soldier capturing a driver for speeding. Because I'd assume this is somewhat similar to disrupting the last ring in a lane "because reasons". 1. Disrupting a trade lane during WARTIME is a massive economical crime. Disrupting TRADE lanes kills Liberty's economy. It is not entirely a self-sufficient House. Shooting at Lanes costs a LOT of money to the Republic in times wasted by transports having to cruise instead of using trade lanes, and cruising makes it so they're more likely targetted by pirates, which are a VERY common reality in Freelancer when compared to RL, which means that a few transports would get nabbed, and investors would become scared again, investing less into the House due to security fears. 2. Do you remember Trent and Juni's escape from Liberty? A battleship, two cruisers, and at least a dozen fighters were there to answer to you less than 5 minutes after you were accused of some baseless crime. The destruction of the RNC Donau moved entire Navy wings in less than a minute. They weren't even in a time of war, either! Also, people in Vanilla lore got arrested left and right due to either being Nomad controlled or Nomad paranoia, so I'm pretty sure mumbling something half-threateningly about a criminal group DURING WAR TIME would be kind of the equivalent of mumbling "I'd have less troubles dealing with the Germans..." in America during World War II. Of course questions would be asked. Both of them are very good explanations and I am happy to see that people still focus and consider certain events of the Navy which happened during the storyline. Keep up this way; I like your role-play so far and I had only good encounters with [LN]. RE: Liberty Navy [LN] - Corile - 07-18-2014 Quote:Both of them are very good explanationsNo, they aren't. If you are, then I must agree, cruising 4K kills Liberty economy indeed. Death sentence on sight to anyone who disrupts a lane. \V/ will execute that from now on as well. Quote:A battleship, two cruisers, and at least a dozen fighters were there to answer to you less than 5 minutes after you were accused of some baseless crime.Good that you mentioned second most stupid and ridiculous event in the single player campaign. Go on and play the fourth mission again, because you have bad memory. This was like seven fighters and a battleship under Manhattan, then maybe three fighters under West Point. The cruisers at Benford actually had the time to gather up. As for a baseless crime, Trent was the last survivor of Freeport 7 (and LSF wanted to capture every one of them), had ties with Lonnigan (who was considered The Order's leader), and also after Syd's death, he had the artifact. Considering there was some kind of conspiracy in Liberty involving Nomad infestation, that's not so baseless if you ask me. OR IS IT?! By the way, your comparison makes no sense, go learn history. RE: Liberty Navy [LN] - Ryummel - 07-18-2014 You were "ganked" by the snubs because you were flying a solarizer gunboat, where is the surprise? Happens everywhere. That any indie cap decided to engage is out of the faction's reach. RE: Liberty Navy [LN] - sindroms - 07-18-2014 * sindroms looks in through the window. Hey, kudos to the LN guy, whose name I miss and my DSAce just derped itself, for that fun little 10min of discussing questionable philosophy RP with my smuggler yesterday. Ok? Carry on. * sindroms whaffs away at the smoke, closes window. RE: Liberty Navy [LN] - Mímir - 03-10-2015 So I accidentally said in a chat today that [LN] have higher standards than other Liberty factions, then 30 minutes later I find myself in this situation: http://i.imgur.com/wZwyKxI.png http://i.imgur.com/PFDf6UV.png And it made me wonder - what puts [LN] apart from the 5th or SFC or 41st of the Liberty Navy these days? I am going to be posting in the =LSF= feedback as well, even though I know Jayce doesn't care. |
