System map discussion thread - Igiss - 09-23-2008 Gallia won't have much to do with Corsairs since they are far away. But don't expect them to become friends with Outcasts. Instead, it's very likely that Outcasts will seek new markets for Cardamine with their old routes threatened by Kusari Navy... Commodities are being rebalanced. JHs between Chugoku/S13/New Berlin won't be removed (otherwise, the Magellan nightmare that lasts for years since Discovery first release will never end). They will be relocated though. System map discussion thread - greendragon - 09-23-2008 Yes, the Chugoku hole must be furter from Naha, 'cause a Kusari Border Navy patrol and some Bounty Hunters easily discovered it last week: it was far from out-of-sensor-range. System map discussion thread - Igiss - 09-24-2008 Updated the small map (removed Kepler-Yukon connection). And on the same note, food should really pay better if it's so needed. Ooh, maybe the French types will be friendly with the Gaians. They're right next door. In any case, I am rather excited still! :yahoo: System map discussion thread - bearlee89 - 09-24-2008 ' Wrote:Gallia won't have much to do with Corsairs since they are far away. Hmmmm.....1 of 2 possibilities semi-confirmed. 1) Gallic faction will become friends with outcasts, liking the effects that cardi has on mind and body, to give them any sort of upper had. 2) Gallic factions will become hostile/unfriendly with outcasts, not wanting to contaminate their people. System map discussion thread - Grimly - 09-24-2008 ' Wrote:People will cry if the Outcasts get the Frenchies... plus, the Outcasts are from the Hispania just like the Corsairs, and the Hispania was one of the sleeper ships just like the Liberty, Kusari, Rheinland, and Bretonia, thus- Alliance scumbags who betrayed them. So joining up with one particular group of these people seems silly. If I read the Q&A right, they are a lawful house opposed to all the other lawful and unlawful houses. O-74 is a Zoner Guard system. Any non-zoner aren't welcome there. This system is also protected by the fearless and juggernauts, best zoner fleet vessels, with, in addition, a power superiority given by the Corinth researchers. O-74 is not a way for hunters to get to Omicron Delta. ' Wrote:Gallia won't have much to do with Corsairs since they are far away. But don't expect them to become friends with Outcasts. Instead, it's very likely that Outcasts will seek new markets for Cardamine with their old routes threatened by Kusari Navy... Sir, Corsairs aren't that far ... I mean, the corsair side, here the gaians (Lewis system) are close to Languedoc, as much as outcasts (O-Alpha) are close to Lorraine. You was talking about 2 pirates faction, I was asking myself how it would work. (And cardamine in Gallia would be a wrong idea for now since their is only O-80 between Gallia and O-Alpha) System map discussion thread - sovereign - 09-25-2008 ' Wrote:JHs between Chugoku/S13/New Berlin won't be removed (otherwise, the Magellan nightmare that lasts for years since Discovery first release will never end). They will be relocated though. Would you mind explaining this "Magellan nightmare"? I'm not sure how removing or redirecting the jumpholes would be so bad, we all hate them (save the powertraders and people likely to F1). If I recall correctly, the Magellan gate now points to Pennsylvania, right? In the same manner, Chugoku-Sigma 13 could become Chugoku-Sigma 19 (or 17, I mean the one with Gas Miner Ogashawa, that has JH to Beta) and Sigma-13 - NB could become NB to Frankfurt (moving the NB side to the other side of Planet New Berlin, perhaps). That's reminds me, there's going to be a JH from NB to Frankfurt, right? It's the only vanilla populated core system link that doesn't have a JH to match if I recall correctly (except perhaps Manchester/New London, I can never remember if there's a jumphole there) and JH travel in Rheinland is exceedingly annoying. Liberty doesn't have this problem because of the dead system links and the proximity of story jumpholes, Kusari doesn't have it simply by having links between all the core systems, and Bretonia has easily the best JH network of anywhere... yet Rheinland has this weird array that goes between impossibly convenient and exceedingly annoying on a daily basis. Please? Oh, and I sort of thought that O-74 is getting de-guardified. At any rate, it doesn't seem to have any NPCs, and the Asgard Warriors don't exactly exist anymore, so no one would stop you going through it by force or guilt. If it gets NPCs then it should certainly get de-guardified or there should be a magical jumphole from Omega-56 to above the Lost Battlestar or something so that the BHG can finally get to Delta without political disturbances. System map discussion thread - Igiss - 09-25-2008 Quote:Would you mind explaining this "Magellan nightmare"?Magellan Nightmare (definition): every month or so a new member starts a thread or posts something like this: I've noticed that Magellan JG in New York is sealed, like it is in SP. In other mods and on other servers I saw that it is open. Please open it/Fix this bug immediately/Freedom for NY-Independent Worlds travels!! I thought that this will end after Pennsylvania connection was announced, but in fact it did not. There are lots of central House systems not connected with jump holes. We have no plans to connect them in the next version. As for Rheinland, we'll see how well the relocation of S-13 jump hole worked, and will edit New Berlin and other systems in future accordingly. Maybe add some additional jump holes, who knows. System map discussion thread - mjolnir - 09-25-2008 ' Wrote:That's reminds me, there's going to be a JH from NB to Frankfurt, right? Please? As Igiss already said there are many of those: New Berlin - Frankfurt New Berlin - Stuttgart New Tokyo - Shikoku New Tokyo -Hokkaido New London - Leeds New London - Manchester New York - California Jump holes should be rare phenomena... (at least a bit) so I don't see any reason for those being added at all. System map discussion thread - Othman - 09-25-2008 I recognized the Mackenzie being tied with Saar instead of Humboldt. A good change I can say. About the concerns of people about the NB, S-13 and Chugoku connections, I would suggest waiting for what the new economy of 4.85 unfolds for us. |
