Dublin Zones of Control/Sovereignity Discussion - Coin - 02-13-2011 ' Wrote:Comrade: as one of the leading voices of both MMC and Garda, im throwing around a few ideas here. firstly, mining licenses are just a cheap-shot at RP. pay for the license, or get pewpew'd ofc, we try to play fair and make sure that the indies respect the fact that such and such miner has just been taxed. the license is set really low on purpose; the intent is to get miners to roleplay (2mill is not a lot) rather than just dock to avoid rp MMC are the 'corporate' face of mollydom. we're trying to undercut bmm's prices. war is economic, as well as denial of resources and infrastructure. @OP if BAF claimed all of the system, there'd be more molly/BAF pewpew as it stands, i dont think the BAF need more pewpew, but the mollies need some more enemies how about a revision of above map, with the BAF only covering Graves' field? if mollies were to claim all of the system, and the baf only covering the graves field, there'd be more pewpew for mollies, but the BAF could cover the BMM - they shouldnt be covering the IMG anyways. should a BMM miner want to go to h4, well.... ask for an escort, or pay a license. this would free up players to have scraps in leeds with knf, reducing the need for knf to enter dublin IMG would have to ask molly council to bring in capitals, and whilst the outcasts would be welcome in any pewpewfest, they'd not be so welcome if they were collecting $$$. ofc, if corsairs turn up, then all sides stand together against the baby-munchers. i'd like the molly/baf relations to go a little sour, and molly/knf to be a bit more neutral that said, dublin is an amazing place, where new roleplay is finely crafted everyday/people make things up for temporary convenience  Dublin Zones of Control/Sovereignity Discussion - AeternusDoleo - 02-13-2011 Here's an alternate suggestion for the "division". I still highly doubt the Mollies would go for a divided Dublin - but that's the Council's business. ![]() This division gives each "faction" a mineable field. Arranmore has the south field, around the Omega 49 hole (which is the richest in Dublin). IMG could work the north indy field, and BMM the east one. Mollies will likely continue to demand mining licenses anywhere - but this could cause BAF to focus mainly on the east field, and put up some resistance to them there. I'm not saying that each faction should ban eachother out of the other's field - I imagine BMM would still want to work the north field too sometimes (and IMG in a crazy mood the east field). I've also drawn zones of roughly 15K around each base to include that as the perimiter. For IMG I included the Hood and it's field, as the races are held in there (field itself is pretty much worthless for mining). The center independent field also falls in the IMG sphere - but it's worthless for mining. It does have the jump holes though, I can imagine the BAF will want to patrol there. BAF gets zones around Essex, the London gate, and the Graves field. For practicality I assume BMM assets to be guarded by the BAF. The Mollies get the Arranmore asteroid fields - which includes the richest spot in Dublin in the south field. Let's be frank. Noone gives a crap about the open space in Dublin. The asteroid fields, especially the richer ones, are the bone of content. The two independent fields is where BMM and IMG usually go. The southern Arranmore field is where Mollies usually are when mining (and to some extent, IMG as well these days). And there's the natural bottlenecks that the Jump Gate and Jump Holes (especially the one to Leeds) form. Dublin Zones of Control/Sovereignity Discussion - Dieter Schprokets - 02-13-2011 Interesting. I'll link that in my proposal to the Mollys. Dublin Zones of Control/Sovereignity Discussion - Tobi44 - 02-13-2011 I think the IMG proposal would be better then everyone would have one zone where they could protect. The BAF wouldn't go around two fields when now they can focus on one. The IMG doesn't need to get close to the BMM if they have their own field. The mollys would have a better time giveing the BMM a hard time when the BAF arn't around and they would have the best feild in the sector. But would this mean the IMG would be able to put their carriers in there since part of that would be IMG space? If they keep it to theirs? And the same with the mollys DELETE - SnakThree - 02-13-2011 DELETE Dublin Zones of Control/Sovereignity Discussion - AeternusDoleo - 02-13-2011 This proposal is the BAF's brainchild Snak. I just whipped something together that I believed to have a higher chance of succeeding, and gave it to Dieter oorply as a suggestion (which he seems to have adopted). How the squaddies are going to convince the mollies I'm not sure... Ech.. doesn't seem right for me. Madhouse systems are fun. I assume all this system sharing will only remain de jure. But factualy will have no effect. Dublin Zones of Control/Sovereignity Discussion - AeternusDoleo - 02-13-2011 See that little white dot in the middle? Sails zone. *sagely nod* :P DELETE - SnakThree - 02-13-2011 DELETE |
