I would say, make the damage higher and efficiency lower on high refire turrets (5.88, 8.33), to make them different from their gun counterparts.

I would reduce damage and increase efficiency on low refire turrets (4.00, 3.03, 2.00).

For instance, instead of:

Turret:

Adv. Splitter - new

Hull damage - 500
Shield damage - 250
Power usage - 120
Refire - 4.0
Speed - 750

Which is identical to the Adv Splitter gun apart from speed...

I would have this instead:

Turret:

Adv. Splitter - new

Hull damage - 492
Shield damage - 246
Power usage - 112
Refire - 4.0
Speed - 750



Instead of this:

Turret:

Barrager mk V - new

Hull damage - 240
Shield damage - 120
Power usage - 65
Refire - 8.33
Speed: 650

I would use this:

Turret:

Barrager MK V - new

Hull damage - 256
Shield damage - 128
Power usage - 75
Refire - 8.33
Speed - 650

These are just small changes, but it would just put in extra numbers to make them a bit more different than their gun counterparts apart from the speed.

if that gets through, we can possibly move zoner Fury 4 down to lvl 8 ( they are lvl 9 now ) - and keep Fury 5 at level 9. having two level 9 weapons is a bit stupid. - anyway, they re both rather unefficient, but they re zoner guns, so no need to improve there.

the farmers alliance vulture may need a little boast. - i am not sure about it at all... i tried the lvl 9 versions ( i think 600 or something damage at 3.03 refire ) - and while the stats suggest a fairly good gun ( well, they re only 600 speed ) it felt much worse than gaians angels ( and one cannot really say that gaians angels are good guns )

not sure if anyone else tried vultures - maybe its just perception, but i had the feeling as if they were really weak.

Well as I wrote..

I made the turrets exactly similar to guns for those factions that have other (lower) guns/turrets exactly like this.

Most others have turrets just 100m/s faster... which I would say is actually a huge disadvantage... so I lowered the difference to + 50m/s.

Some factions (actually I think only IMG) had slightly different stats on their turrets...so I made them accordingly.

Some factions (smaller pirate factions) didn't had any turrets at all.... so I just copied the lvl 9 gun stats.

You have one idea what to do.... but there are many possibilities to do with them.

One point is that turrets have shorter barrels than guns (turret models)... so they should actually fire at lower speed... yet almost all of them fire at higher speed....:$

But they are intended for defense.. where more speed and less damage should be the goal....:$

About the new class 9 Hornviper...

I love it! My mercenary just got a Wrath, flying it with Hornvipers would cement its RP more than random codies...

oh noes! Chopper forgot the Fury 5 completely!!

I'd say damage is fine but it uses way too much energy...


add it please... as well as turret....



EDIT: also Natterturn Zwei is missing...

I had a second look on all the 5.88 guns... they are all insanely energy inefficient... like new Hornviper MKII from 3.5 to 3.33... that's really bad compared to the 4.00 guns.... so maybe all of the 5.88 guns should get lower energy use.

EDIT2: the new stats on Vulture are fine I'd say... it has same damage/energy as Wyrm!!!! but only 600 speed.

That's true Mjonlir, but they are very easy to hit with.
I don't know if you used Fury 5, but it's far more easy to hit with fast 5.88 guns then 4.0.
That's why they are inefficient. Look at 8.33.. Even more inefficient.. Higher refire - less efficiency.
Fury 5 is a Zoner weapon, and as it is now it can compare to new Hornviper, which is a military weapon.
3.5 energy efficiency is regular for them.

Natterturn Zwei is the most energy efficient of 5.88 weapons, and I don't think it needs a boost.
Maybe a bit damage boost, but that's all. Around 20 max.

I will have a one more look on all of them a bit later.

I tried Fury 5 on eagle yes... and the energy bar just disappeared..:$

But under 3.5 efficiency is too bad I think..

Heh.. And that's improved version.. In 4.83 it used 105 or 110 energy I think.

Since they are Zoner weapons I don't think they need a boost.
I will remind you that those weapons are also 'open for all', and we don't want to see Rogues using them.
People threat Zoner weapons same as Civilian weapons.
And that's the problem.

Natterun Zwei should get a boost though..
Since it has better weapons then RM in this version, but lousier ships.
I'd say around 350 (same as Hornviper) but more energy efficient.
Opinions?

Ehm.. "lousier ships"... you mean Sabre and Odin.. both are same or better than Wrath... so that would be a no.

EDIT: What I wanted to say is that Hornviper with 3.3 efficiency is a bit too bad.... keep it on 3.5.

Nah, we both now Odin isn't better then Wrath:)
It's much bigger.

Added Natterturn proposal and edited hornviper to 3.5.
