ADMIN Question to Community - Athenian - 04-06-2011 [4/5/11 1:51:43 PM] Dusty Lens: How are you so awesome? [4/5/11 1:51:50 PM] Dusty Lens: You're the greatest! [4/5/11 1:52:09 PM] Athenian (aka Colm): Aw, stop. You're embarassing me. [4/5/11 1:52:24 PM] Dusty Lens: Well, you are. [4/5/11 1:52:43 PM] Dusty Lens: You admin the best of all the admins. Even better than me when I was an admin. ***following omitted as it's basically just Dusty gushing about how great I am for agreeing to work with him about a trade event to move significant traffic into Gallia and not just sit in Skype making stereotypical jokes about frogs/Gallic people/Gerard Depardieu. He also becomes awkward when it is explained to him that "trade centres" was a reference to a plug-in that allows bases to manufacture things for sale if you dock with certain goods and that context is everything*** Up trade within and out of Gallia to create traffic. Traffic begets unlawfuls. Unlawfuls beget Lawfuls. Lawfuls beget battleships. Battleships beget forum. Forum begets malicious rule changes. ADMIN Question to Community - Dennis Jameson - 04-06-2011 How about introducing the smuggling of Cardamine while you're at it, eh? It'd give LE and [UC] something to do... as well as my own crew. ADMIN Question to Community - Dusty Lens - 04-06-2011 ' Wrote:[4/5/11 1:51:43 PM] Dusty Lens: How are you so awesome? For anyone wondering the above conversation is in no way a fabrication. As for Cardamine... The only issue there is that the backside of Gallia is both really close to OC space so there'd have to be a measure of care put into where the goods were going to avoid the "Coronado" issue. Namely the nearly no risk f2/f3 syndrome which was the undoing of cardamine shipping in the first place. Furthermore, as memory serves, the UC's focus in the eyes of Igiss (with his infinite imagination and appreciation for subtly) was moreso leaning towards the import of artifacts with a mind of frowning at cardamine, which was to be the Brigand's focus. Imagine the idea of polarizing the unlawfuls between OC and Corsairs. Just when you thought you'd seen everything he surprises you again:D Though I'm really against the idea of Outcasts in Gallia. Chiefly because I feel that the potency of their equipment when compared to that of the local flavor in addition to their oft cited staggering ZOI would serve to rapidly eclipse the attraction of domestic unlawful factions. But I guess Igiss wants them there so, ya know, forward the foundation and all. ADMIN Question to Community - Dennis Jameson - 04-06-2011 A fair point... although I must say that Gallic equipment is more than a match for the Kraken Sabre, and my intention has never been to hand our stuff out to allies as if it was candy. At any rate: While Igiss might have a plan for the UC as a whole, the faction known as [UC] has had a year-old history with the 101st, and it's developed into a loving relationship where we all talk about how awesome it is that we have a base called Corsica and the UC are pretty much neo-Corsican... but poor jokes aside: I think they've made their choice, and there's nothing written down which prevents a faction within the UC as a whole to make deals with the Maltese. (Spoiler: They won't be trading in Cardamine, they provide us with... cough... workers.) Cough... to get back to the topic at hand: I see no reason why smuggling shouldn't be introduced at this point. You speak of risks? Well... consider the fact that Gallia is filled with powerful hostile NPCs and that the smuggle of Cardamine might just be what the GRP needs to boost their activity... which in turn would put a dent in our smuggling operations and everything should be made clear. Besides... smuggling has been nerfed beyond what is needed already. It's time to show it some love. ADMIN Question to Community - sable - 04-06-2011 I heavily support introducing (cardi) smuggling in Gallia now - actually it should have been done long ago. While we in LE are already smuggling cardi for over 6 months now, it's just "inRP" - which is just not the real deal. Apart from that it would give us "something to do" it would also reflect a long time going on RP, so I'd see no problem with the cardi selling prices raised at some bases, both lawful and unlawful. So let the Brigands begin what they're meant to do, now would be the perfect time. ADMIN Question to Community - Camtheman - 04-06-2011 Cardi smuggling in Gallia? It would have to sell in the 900-1500's range to be competitive. Otherwise it'll be as unused as mining fields that are about -$10 less than the ones that are spammed. Seeing how we have a mutual enemy and such, and they don't really have any experience with artifacts.... stuff like that. I think that was before you got back maybe? As far as I remember, that event was not exactly great. ' Wrote:Okay, okay. I just wanted to give you a reason to be active in game before it rolls out. An RP quest. It's no problem. Lane Hackers are equipped with powergaming detectors and the alarm is difficult to ignore. I liked your suggestion. That's a fair point, but one should also consider the small distance one has to fly from Malta to a Gallic station / planet... and weigh that against the dangers posed by the NPC patrols and players. I think 700-900 is a fair sum, with the prices increasing the farther in you go towards the core worlds of Gallia. In before Gaians with Gallic fighters. ADMIN Question to Community - DarthBindo - 04-06-2011 ' Wrote:In before Gaians with Gallic fighters.Heh, the Gaians have been distancing themselves. Gotta jerk the leash again, shake the trees, see what happens. I'm not averse to hostilities emerging between the two. Specially considering Cork. Sides, not like we give titans to Samura, now innit? Although wit the Rhein moving intae the sigmas, that might change if things go sour tween the two. Edit: you can always tell when ai've been playing mah molly. |
